Usually fairgrounds are places of desolation, save for whatever stressful exhausting event you've been likely tricked into attending... I'll admit... I did get kinda dragged into going. I just wanted to kick it today but it is what it is. The good news is it turned into a really fun time! There is a lake with next to the grounds with a little trail. There are geese and even turtles! All free to see! The even this year cost $5 a person. They had many crafts (not totally my thing but I like to look at stuff) and different food outlets. Even a lobster roll truck! Not to mention the cocktails on offer, all with holiday cheer! I was glad to see a little gingerbread house contest, although between us I feel the judging was a little too kind. But I'm not from around here and can be a competitive jerk. It is what it is. In all it was a fun time for all of us, and it wasn't stressful or overcrowded. Fun little outing!

The area is beautiful. The town feels welcoming and the people are amazing! We stayed in an AirBnB so we could enjoy the festivities and have parking. We enjoyed shopping at all the different shops. There were more tents setup all around with vendors of small entrepreneurs. There were costumed carolers singing! We saw people playing music and singing. We saw carriage rides, and more!! Overall, a fun area to explore! It gets you into the Christmas spirit!! Parking can be a nightmare. I think they've improved it now. Like I said before, we just rented an Airbnb!

The "pumpkins" they had were fake styrofoam cut outs, they looked nice but they were fake so that was a big disappointment for my self. The food vendors they had were kinda whack. The funnel cake vendor was really backed up they started giving back people their money. It sucked because even tho their fryer was broke they still kept selling cakes and telling people 10 minutes. They could of kept it real and closed down earlier. The teriyaki vendor was pretty good but most of their food was sold out. Not sure what the wait staff was doing- they only had like 5 drinks to serve and pizza, but somehow they made each order take a really long time. Just ended up leaving, but the walkways were so crowded with families trying to watch the show in just a tiny bit of shade, that we could barely get out. It was a super crowded event at $33/person, they beed to invest in better infrastructure and management. It was an all around awful experience.

I mean the dried flower demon head??? So cool, unique, and well done! Unique fall/Halloween inspired ceramics? Nice! Definitely what I consider worthy of a craft fair! But again, other booths were selling things not even crafty. Like keychains that looked like reject temu/wish items. I wasn't paying $10 for a crappy keychain! Typically, there's a decent variety but at my most recent visit to the one in Reno, there had to be at least 7 or 8 booths selling crochet stuffed animals and it appears more than half of them were using the same patterns. There are food options, but there is honestly nothing I remember standing out at any of these. The recent pumpkin fair was somewhat chaotic with no signage, no help in finding parking, no easily found disability accessible parking, and no actually planned pay out. Food vendors were kinda all over. There was a rock climbing wall and a mechanical bull for some reason. It just felt chaotic. Overall their fairs are about 3 stars. You'll definitely find some great vendors but you need to search. Parking is typically a free for all. Accessibility is difficult for those with mobility issues. Food vendors are meh and there are typically no places to sit and eat. If you happen to be around for one, go check it out but definitely don't make it your day.

It was quite big and flavorful. This was probably one of the most popular items there since it had the longest line. I also ordered the strawberry puppies (hushpuppies) for the sake of getting something strawberry related- $2. It was ok but I don't understand why the Hershey's chocolate sauce that was used to dip the strawberry puppies into was so watery. Of course they also sold plain old strawberries. They were some of the best strawberries I ever had. My friend even bought a box of them.

I happened to see this advertised on Groupon and figured I'd check it out. It was normally about…read more$15 a ticket plus fees but I snagged a deal off of Groupon so it was pretty much free. Pro-tip: be sure to park further away as ANY event at the fairgrounds will cost you $10 and in CASH ONLY. In addition to the cover charge, you have to buy $5 vouchers which get you sample sized items from all vendors that were put on. It is somewhat of a glorified food truck event. There were only a few places that weren't food trucks. I didn't really like the voucher system as not all vendors accepted them for things like desserts. I ended up having to trade my voucher back for cash toward the end. It would just be easier to hand the vendors cash for all the items, but apparently the vendors only get like $3 out of the $5 paid for the vouchers. I guess the cover charge isn't enough for the event hosts? It's basically just like any other food festival but overpriced if you're paying for the cover charge and parking. It's not a huge event. You come, try a few things and leave or look at some of the little shops.
