I was excited with the thought of going to the Pumpkin Nights, i was visualizing all types of pumpkins carved and looking amazing. Boy was i wrong!!!! The "pumpkins" they had were fake styrofoam cut outs, they looked nice but they were fake so that was a big disappointment for my self. The food vendors they had were kinda whack. The funnel cake vendor was really backed up they started giving back people their money. It sucked because even tho their fryer was broke they still kept selling cakes and telling people 10 minutes. They could of kept it real and closed down earlier. The teriyaki vendor was pretty good but most of their food was sold out. Over all the the experience was so so the display of the "pumpkins" was alright the lighting was decent. I wouldn't come back ever again tho it really didn't wow me. read more

Skip it!!! It took ONLY 30 min to walk through. This was an expensive night. For minimal sights and sounds. Impressed with the styrofoam carvings yes. Lots of details but expected a lot more. had seen the instagram worthy pics from a few of my friends from Pumpkin Nights so I knew that I needed to check out the pumpkin trail myself. We went on a weekday night because by the time we had decided we wanted to go on the weekend, it has already sold out. That said, on a weekday it wasn't too crowded and we didn't feel like we were squeezed for space. Pumpkin nights was a super interesting experience. I loved all of the hand carved pumpkins and the trail you could walk along to experience each pumpkin scene. I loved how they were all different so you got to experience each one. That said, I wasn't a huge fan of the price and I think it may have been a little over hyped. I imagine it would feel HUGE if you had small kids, but for adults it was a little small. We walked around the whole thing in about 30 minutes. I can't say for sure if I'll come back next year, but it was a fun experience to do at least once! read more

instagram worthy photos, but prob last time going. it was great seeing the pumpkin lights but i have to admit i was disappoint learning all of them were fake pumpkins. im a sucker for lights so i did get great photos but i doubt i will drive an hour there and then an hour back home for it. they needed more lights around the kids play area. there was one main food vender. the other food truck was a dessert one so you literally have twi choices for food: corn dog or teriyaki chicken/rice. the food was decent but what if that wasnt someone preference. auburn is a small city. so the sign directing you to the event and parking needs to be bigger. read more

Don't let the sleek website fool you - Pumpkin Nights has much less appeal once you step through the (admittedly cool) gate. Instead of a "festival with food and activities," you are immediately met by booths of local shops trying to sell you something. There are five or six local food trucks in the area with (thankfully) alcohol for adults and beverages for kids. I didn't try any of them other than to get beer, so I can't speak to that experience. The Pumpkin Nights experience consists largely of walking along a path illuminated by hand-carved (synthetic) pumpkins that conform to a variety of themes. Within two minutes of walking around, a middle-aged woman faceplanted from tripping over a raised garden liner, taking a small child out with her and sending him running and crying. The most exciting part of the night. There are never quite enough pumpkins for you to ever feel like you're not at the Auburn Fairgrounds; much of the walkway is very open and very empty. While walking from themed area to themed area, you can catch glimpses of adjacent buildings just outside the grounds and the open expanse back to the entrance. It's just too little magic to justify the price tag. Given all the space between these areas, it's funny that two of the loudest - the pumpkin galaxy (a dance area for kids that was pretty empty), and the movie screening area - are right next to each other, vying for your attention. Between the two is a children's hay bales maze, a literal maze of knee-high hay bales, and a "car wash" sponsored by Quick Quack Car Wash. It's about ten feet long, decked out with a black light, and bubbles that glow in the dark when they land on you. It's okay. Dracula's Graveyard (why does Dracula have a graveyard?) Is nearby, and it's filled with punny tombstones with names like "Digg Here" and "Waldo." It's on a hillside that you can't access. You'll pass it as you enter the Pumpkin Passage, a small building filled with eye-stinging amounts of smoke a gag-inducing amount of pumpkin spice scents. Somehow, the entire event ends up being too short when you want it to end the entire time because it's just SO BAD. This isn't a knock against any of the employees who worked there. I'm sure they had nothing to do with how much the event cost. But Pumpkin Nights doesn't come close to being the event their website portrays itself to be. Where exactly was the "much, MUCH more" the website purports the event will have? It certainly wasn't in free candy or a single cup of hot apple cider. There's no added benefit to coming to Pumpkin Nights. You could end up staying home renting movies on Amazon and eating Halloween candy all day and probably have a better time. Great first event! I found out that this year was a trial run so it was on a smalller scale. That was my only disappointment. I thought it would be bigger. But it was pretty amazing and there is nothing I'vewe seen ive ever experienced like it. The potential for next year is going to be off the charts. Its is something to see! Pretty cool how they make big scenes out of 1000's of carved pumpkins stacked on top of each other! I've only seen this once before in Sleepy Hallow, NY. (Name says it all) So for us, our small town here in Auburn to do this is pretty amazing and its a fun thing to do and see with your family and or friends! Its not so much for little kids bc they may not understand or appreciate the amount of work involved to make a display let alone several displays, also that there is not much interaction for the little ones other than walking and looking at each display. It was a fun experience, but seems a bit more of an instagram photo-op than a full event. The scavenger hunt was my kid's favorite part; but lots of people were unaware of it as it was just one person in front of the first venue explaining how to do it. We went at 6 which was a good time to go since it fills up fast and the parking lot gets chaotic. The vendors in the pumpkin "market" were varied: some snacks, some glow sticks, a couple serving actual food, the Tahoe timeshare tent, and someone selling gutter covers. I think it there were more food options and some live music, it would really make for a more entertaining event. read more

We have taken our kids to pumpkin nights the last two years and we had a lot of fun! There were lots of neat vendors selling delicious kettle corn and treats. All the displays were really impressive. My wife has been wanting to go to pumpkin nights for awhile, so we finally went. We were both extremely disappointed. $47 for two adults is a bit much to walk through four halls that took a total of 20 minutes even walking slow and starring at a few fake pumpkins for awhile. There were a few real pumpkins which a guy had carved but that was it. This place is nothing to write home about. I don't know how they expect big families to enjoy it while paying that much. My kids loved the stage with dancing and fog machines, the strider bike course and the bubble/strobe light area- all of which were gone! In its place were two tiny bounce houses and a see saw. Would give this a zero if I could! This event was such a waste of money! It was advertised as being fun for all ages and I attended with a group a ladies for a girls night out. We had planned on being at the event for a few hours but got done in about 30 minutes and since we had tickets for 8:30 it was too late to find another activity to do instead that would actually be fun. The pumpkins are painfully fake which pretty much takes all the coolness of the displays. The website made it seem like there would be many activities going on which was not the case at all. A harry potter movie was playing but that was pretty much it. The pumpkin carver wasn't doing anything and there wasn't actually a place to carve your own pumpkin like the website said. The food and drink options were minimal and overpriced. As soon as we walked walked out of the last area, which made me feel sick from whatever the scent was we kind of just looked at each other like "really that's it". We didn't even know what to say about because it was so boarding and fast. Luckily we got a group rate so I didn't have to pay full price for this sham of an event. I did drive an hour each way to get there so I wasted my gas, my friday night, and the money I spent on the ticket. With all of these poor reviews this company should really be offering a refund after putting on such a horrible event that was nothing like what they advertised. I hope they improve on the concept next year! This was their first year here in Northern California. Has GREAT potential, but didn't quite measure up to the hype. It's at the Auburn Fairgrounds which is a great location. All of the decorations and pumpkins were fake. Nothing carved and nothing handmade. Just seemed really manufactured... Great interactive pieces too with a seesaw, hula hoops, corn hole, sand box treasure hunt and more. Had real hawks and owls to see and fire throwing dancers. The place isnt well lit at night (probably so you can see the lights) so finding information on the boards were problematic. The cost for entry was a bit overpriced even with the groupon. I think this event is geared more towards a younger crowd. If you're an adult going with another on a date, I don't think it's worth it. The food trucks are overpriced as it usually is at these type of events but there was also not much quality. Our kids enjoyed all the bright neon pumpkins (fake or not). We came here for a birthday night out. It was definitely fun since we were such a big group (9 of us). I really like how they served alcohol there and allow you to take it with you on your stroll. The decos, lights, and music were all very cool. Each section was dedicated to a theme. We had so much fun just because we were joking the night away, taking pictures, and getting into the Halloween spirit. I definitely think it is more of a family environment but we arrive an hour before closing so we were pretty much the last people to leave. I had to write a review as I had heard some negative, and I couldn't understand why. Maybe 2018 was just way better then past years, but there was seriously so much to do and see. Never a dull moment and beautifully done up. It was magical, yet still had a halloween feel. It gave me the Coraline vibe if you have ever seen that movie when she walks out into the garden in the other world for the first time! Really enjoyed my time at Pumpkin Nights! I brought my toddler son to the event and he loved it as well. The work that went into the event was amazing and it really payed off. We could tell how much effort went into making each pumpkin land! I really appreciated the interactive pieces they added to the adventure lands for the kiddos and the movie nights. I'm surprised so many people are concerned with the pricing as I don't feel like it was crazy expensive or overpriced. This venue was VERY misleading. The tickets are over priced, attempting to park is chaotic to the point people parked along the road of the venue. We arrived at 8 and did not get to the parking area until 10:15. When we did park we walked up to purchase tickets and were told they sold out and stopped selling them at 9. No where on the website does it state that tickets may sell out and there were no updates that tickets had sold out. Underwhelmed. Cute idea but could be so much more. $5.00 parking, and Groupon admission prices of 15. Adult,13. Senior and kids, are still high for what you see. There were a few food trucks but there was room for many more. We skipped the food. There were plenty of orange and purple lights and styrofoam pumpkins strung around. The fire spinners were young adults. There wasn't a line for the restroom which was nice. Some neighborhoods have better light displays than Pumpkin Nights. I was very excited for the Pumpkin Nights since the tickets were selling out fast, and for the price $22 per person I expected A LOT. The whole family drove 35 minutes out of our way to go this Pumpkin night that took us less than 20 minutes to finish. For $22 per person, I expected Halloween themed foods from the food trucks like Pumpkin spiced sweets that were designed into pumpkins, witches, and other scary things. Inventive Halloween main dishes like Halloweenies for the kids, not just regular food trucks serving what we can all get at any point in time. I expected more activities, foods, decorations for $22.
