We wanted a large back patio and fire pit living space for our home. We met with Parker Crossley of Grasshopper Gardens for the estimate. He listened carefully to what we had to say. He asked appropriate probing questions to help clarify what we were talking about and thought. Offered other options and considerations as we chatted. Not once did he "sell" us on anything. Instead, he was more like a guide that offered things to consider to ensure our final decision would be an educated one that fit what we really wanted. Unlike the estimate we got from a competitor, Parker provided us concept drawings that we could visualize and ensure the estimate was true to what we wanted. The estimate was detailed and helped us understand what each of the features contributed to the overall cost. Grasshopper's estimate was comparable in cost for the basic patio features but the value-added actions of concept drawings and "teaming" with us really made the choice easy to go with Grasshopper. Due to the pandemic, Grasshopper could only have one person on the job site so the half week job took 9 days instead. We were blessed and fortunate to have had Shannon (Project Team Lead/Supervisor) assigned to do our project. He was consistently careful to discuss all significant details with us before doing the work stages to ensure what he created fit with what we hoped to achieve. He provided decades of experience that did result in us changing the pit location and adjusting a few other details without affecting the cost of the project, such as a change in the border that Shannon felt would "really make the colors of the stone 'pop'." The result was a layout and "flow" that surpassed anything that we had previously thought possible or even had imagined. It was amazing to see what just one person could accomplish in such a short period encompassing over 600 sq. ft. of stonework, boulders, cottage walls and firepit - all perfectly landscaped together. After the work was completed, Parker met with us to ensure the work was completed to Grasshopper Gardens standards and that there were no outstanding problems or concerns on our part. It was very professional how Grasshopper only billed us for the balance due for the project only after we confirmed how happy we were with everything. We would be remiss if we did not mention the customer service aspect of Grasshopper Gardens. Everyone that we dealt with (in person and on the phone) and all communications, conversations and contacts with Grasshopper Gardens have been pleasant, professional and very accommodating. Not once did we wait even a full workday before someone responded back to us either by phone or E-mail. The finished project was everything that we wanted and we are so happy with it. In early spring, we signed a full lawn care contract that included fall cleanup. As of today, December 5, Grasshopper has not shown up.

They brought soil in to level my back yard and doubled the cost because of their purposely underestimate. Then spread seed over the paper thin topsoil and we spent a whole day pulling out weeds. Company said let's set up a lawn care program and we will get rid of the weeds. Bunch of crooks. read more

Be very careful. You'll come across a good person here and there, but then get smacked by the company which doesn't get it when it comes to quality and customer service. I can't begin to talk about all the problems we had--from killing our lawn year one to not pitching pavers the way they said they would, to selling us trees and shrubs of which 70% didn't make it. Every single problem, question, concern is thrown back on the customer like it's your fault. So after 2 years of frustration, and after they damaged my deck, I said I'm out and cancel my contract. Senior manager wanted feedback--I sent him a big long email. So today, I get a call asking for the last $50 I owed them from their last application (which, by the way, was to apply something that they forgot to put down from the spring)--absolutely no idea of good customer service or how to manage and supervise staff. Was initially told, "you'll pay more, but it's worth it"--NOT TRUE at all! Senior staff don't understand it at all--and they keep growing and are really big business oriented, so if you are looking for a hometown customer oriented company, keep looking. read more

Ethan, Jonathan and Dustin are gentlemen and craftsmen! They worked four long, brutally hot days installing our front walk and pool patio with never a complaint. And at the end of those days, when I would have wanted nothing more than to find an AC, a cold drink and a shower, they actually took time to clean up after themselves! In addition, owner John DeLisle checked in daily to make sure everything was going well, and salesman Parker Crossley made a follow up visit to assess the work and our satisfaction with it.
