I've been using this pharmacy for years. Literally since I was a child in the 80s. While the surrounding neighborhood has changed, the pharmacy always remained a family oriented personalized neighborhood spot. The employees were always polite, organized, and while some were young, you can tell they knew they had to prove themselves. Now, it seems as though the employees are not expected to meet half of that standard. The phone rings longer before they answer. When they do, you're often met with laughter and chatting as if you're interrupting a social conversation, and if there's an issue with your prescription, expect an attitude. This was never the case, but sadly it is now. If I wanted this experience I'd go to CVS. Their standard of care has declined and I blame it strictly on the shift in expectations for their newer employees over, I'd say, the last year. read more

Get this -- a review from someone who's never set foot inside the store! Among their services, the pharmacy will notarize documents. I'm disabled, and going through a bad patch, although truth be told, I probably could have made it in to the store with a walker. My wife was concerned, and went in first to make sure a chair was available and scout out the situation. She spoken to Steve, apparently the owner who does the notary work. He took it on himself to come out, walk 50 feet to the handicapped space where we were parked, and started to do the work. It gets better. Much to my chagrin, we didn't have a pen, forcing him to walk back and return with one. All for the pittance he receives for his notary work. I cannot thank him enough. My wife tells me the store itself is spacious, clean, and well organized. I can't comment on prices, but if you think you're getting get good value from Walgreen's or CVS, think again. The CEO of Walgreens made over $28 million dollars two years ago. Who do you think is paying for that? I'm guessing Steve doesn't take in quite that much. I went in for an eye exam for the dmv. The gentleman that helped me was great. My one and only issue is one of the pharmacy reps was assisting a customer on the phone and when the call finished she said some inappropriate things about the customer very loudly for all to hear. Never did I think I would experience such blatant discrimination in 2019 at Grassy Sprain Pharmacy! I waited patiently 15 minutes for the one person in the store whom could take measurements for a prescribed item from my podiatrist, bundled up in my Pom Pom winter hat, jeans & Ugg boots. In walked an older woman well dressed and Caucasian, needing the same service. I tried politely explaining how I had been waiting there, as the pharmacist had advised, for the same service. The man that was to take the measurements looked at me up and down, with attitude said "well I'm here now but can only take care of one at a time", walked passed me, and proceeded to take her measurements first. So I walked out furious. Perhaps had I been carrying my Columbia University degree, Coach bag, or Morgan Stanley work ID, things would have been different. I did not have prescription plan (something went wrong with my next coverage at the time) and had to use Good Rx coupon. The pharmacy I used to go for decades somehow could not honor the GoodRx coupon for the medication I needed badly in the beginning of April this year. Grassy Sprain Pharmacy was much farther than the pharmacy I used to go but I had to travel to get the big discount. (I wasn't used to paying so much money for medications.) I was pleasantly surprised by the professional staffs and their attitude serving the public in need especially in the midst of Covid 19 crisis. The size of pharmacy and the vast amount and varied supplies related to health care were truly impressive. I have gone few more time since the first visit and I have not been disappointed! read more

This is a popular pharmacy in the area. They have made renovations recently and reorganized the set up inside. These changes have made huge improvements in regards to wait time. Also the new set up makes it much less crowded while you wait. They have also made chairs available, before the renovation there were like three chairs in a corner near the pharmacy door. It also seems they are much faster preparing and getting prescriptions out to customers. I think this place is actually more affordable than a few other pharmacies in the area. The only issue is that the parking lot is one way and there's a sometimes a lot of traffic on Central Ave so making a turn to head west can be difficult. They also deliver locally free of charge which is great if you can't actually get to the pharmacy. read more

My sister-in-law doesn't drive, and although we help take her to doctor's appointments, having a pharmacy that will deliver is a good perk. I am all for giving local businesses a chance , however Grassy Sprain Pharmacy will be the exception. While the workers appear to be friendly and respectful I cannot say the same for the managers or people in charge . Their demeanor gives off an air of arrogance and unwillingness to listen better yet his demeanor. I believe I have a hypothesis about where this behavior is stemming from but since I have no other proof other than the way I feel when I walk into this store I will keep that portion of my comment to myself. The main guy acts likes he's to busy to hear your questions or concerns , he is always quick to cut you off like a Mr No It All . This attitude pisses me off . Secondly he has requested me to say out loud which medication I am picking up , like wow sir I thought this was supposed to be confidential. None the less after my 5 time here and feeling the same way at every visit , at this time I think it would be best to take my business elsewhere. The first time was a good experience for me but I noticed the cashier at the pharmacy rolls her eyes and sighs everytime someone calls, seems like she's always overwhelmed. I pick up prescriptions every month and every month I have to remind them how to bill my insurance while everyone acts clueless for the first 15 minutes attempting to get me to pay the full price when I should only be charged $1. I originally purchased Shower Chair RTL12606 and after one use the seat cracked underneath and legs started to spread while I was using it. I contacted the pharmacy and spoke with Cristina and she recommended RTL 12505 a different model and I was pleased with the exchange. The model she recommended was more sturdier. They delivered the new chair to me and I paid for the difference. I was very pleased with Cristina's concern to help me while all the while she was apologizing for any inconvenience. My family has been part of the Grassy Sprain Pharmacy family for 20+ years. There isn't a single entity, in any business, that can have a 100% CSAT (customer satisfaction) all of the time. Anthony and his team come as close as possible. Recently a major pharma had an (all of a sudden) shortage on a vital medication, the only brand that my 12 year old autistic son will react well with. Anthony's team were extremely proactive with us including working with our son's neuro and the pharma manufacturer. He never missed a single dose! Also, being in the financial services industry myself I know the Payers side's business model well (the insurance companies). TRUST ME , you NEED a local "mom and pop size giant" on your side because the way that industry is going. We all are at the mercy "of the medical care system" of which the doctors, patients, and caregivers are all second to the wallets of the Big Pharma Mafia starting wth the RX manufacturers and their side kicks, the Insurance Payers, that take OUR money happily yet fight with us to pay the claims including medications.
