I called my vet only to find out they no longer do boarding. But they recommended Happy Hounds. After checking out Happy Hounds online, I called and had the pleasure of speaking to the owner, Brian. He explained I needed to create an account online and once established, I could make a reservation for Molly (THE sweetest Yorkie ever!)..Brian further advised that the first visit is always free! Now that is a real tail-wagger lol. I also told Brian that Molly is a little shy around other dogs and he said he'd keep her up at the front counter with him. The next morning I woke up before sunrise to what sounded like giants stomping on my roof. Molly started a barking spree which I knew would not stop until my roof my done! So we headed to Happy Hounds on Beach Blvd. Brian and a very friendly dog greeted us. I could see and hear many dogs just having a great time in the open area. You have to smile when you see dogs running around like kids on a playground at recess! Brian reassured me he would keep Molly up front with him so she'd be close to a human. (I don't know if it's a Yorkie thing, but she likes to be near or on a person at all times!) I noticed that Happy Hounds is arranged in such a way that you don't need to worry about your precious pup escaping and exploring while there. The neat thing is, you can still see the dogs while they are kept safe. I picked Molly up around 1 PM and there she was, still safe behind the counter - happy, and hanging out with a shy Poodle. Happy Hounds entrance has fencing and a gate similar to what you see around swimming pools...the open metal bars and you have to push down on a knob for the gate the open/close. The gate automatically swings shut once you are inside. I was a little concerned about the location as it's right off of busy Beach Blvd. The fenced access is a great touch. When we were leaving, little Molly did slip through the bars and so she was outside while I was still inside the gate. But I had her on a leash, so everything was OK. Just wanted to mention this in case you have a 10 pounds or less pooch! Thank you Happy Hounds for taking such good care of Molly! You saved her (and me!) from what would have been an extremely stressful day.

I was gone for three days and got to watch them on the puppy cams and the whole time they seemed relaxed and happy... The people who work here deeply care for animals and certainly have a way with the dogs! My dogs ate very well and I will definitely be bringing them back knowing that they will be in good hands next time I'm away!

I will make a point to remember her name next time.) Anyway, I could tell she loved dogs right away. She took their leashes off and let them roam around sniffing and checking things out. She had water and toys available for them. She didn't snatch my babies and put them right in a cage. I love that. I hate feeling bad when I leave them to get groomed. I didn't feel that way here. I also appreciated bringing them in and Picking them up in a few hours. It was a relief knowing they wouldn't be in cages all day long! This is the only place in town, that I've tried, that does this. When I went to get them, they were on the floor with blankets and toys. They looked great and they were so happy! I will most definitely be coming back. FYI, you don't have to turn in off of 220. The road goes through to Henley, much easier that way. :)

Every time I go there, I see tons of smiles on parents and pups faces. It's like a preschool for your dogs. They offer day care services and boarding for all sizes, from luxury suits to small dog kennels, there is a place for all sizes. They have large LED screens located throughout the facility that have crackling fire place (in winter) or ocean screen savers (in summer)playing on the television along with ambient sounds or music playing softly in the background. There is a groomer on sight, who together with her team, can outdo Edward Sizzorhands that's how talented they are! From Nature Trails to at least 8 specialized outdoor play yards to Trunk or Treat parties and hand made personalized crafts and treats on holidays, you will feel like you are part of a happy family at Sawgrass Pet Resort. And why does it always smell so good when you walk through the doors? Seriously? Inquiring minds want to know how they do it? Are there magical fairies waving essential oils through the air? Does your dog need training or physical therapy? They even offer that!!! A one stop shop for everything pup. Can it get any better? Why yes it can. One last perk I want to mention (there are so many that I'm sure I'm leaving some out), there is a wonderful Vet clinic right next door. You can rest easy and have peace of mind that your pup will receive the best of care should a vet be required during their stay. That assurance makes taking vacations so much more enjoyable. Don't believe me? Just experience it for yourselves! The proof is in your fur baby's happy smiling face when you pick them up. If you can't tell yet that I highly recommend this place, well, I highly recommend this place. Keep an eye out for future community events and be sure to attend. That's when you get to go behind the scenes and really see where all the magic happens.

I am sharing my experience so other pet owners can make an informed decision…read more I boarded my two dogs here for one week. Both were healthy before boarding and had recently been seen by my veterinarian. During the stay, my 12-year-old German Shepherd, Mojo, became critically ill and collapsed. At the emergency vet, he had a 106°F fever, dehydration and serious gastrointestinal and organ abnormalities. He died that day. My other dog, Rigby, came home from the same boarding stay and developed a 103°F fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Despite veterinary care, his health declined rapidly and he was euthanized approximately three days later. I repeatedly requested records showing when my dogs we given water and administered their medications, as well as an incident report. I have not received the documentation I requested, despite being told that protocols were followed. I also saw an approximately five-week-old wolf-dog puppy at the facility that I was told had been confiscated from a backyard breeding situation. I asked about its veterinary care and vaccination status but did not receive answers. This concerned me because customers are required to provide vaccination records for their own dogs. My veterinarian later explained that without specific PCR testing, infectious causes could not be ruled out. I am not claiming to know exactly what caused my dogs' illnesses. What I know is that both dogs became critically ill during or immediately after the same boarding stay and both died within days. We requested MANY times to alert clients about our dogs' symptoms and deaths. To our knowledge they never let anyone know. I know that I would want to know. Losing Mojo and Rigby was devastating. I believe pet owners deserve documentation, transparency and answers when something this serious happens. I would want another pet owner to know about my experience before deciding where to leave their animals.

I had an appointment scheduled for 8/26, unfortunately due to my job I had to reschedule. Appointment was rescheduled for 10/15. I sent her a text asking her to give me a heads up when she was on her way. I then got a response that I was not on the schedule because she had some kind of issue with her scheduler and that she would not be able to groom my dog now or anytime in the foreseeable future and not even offering to reschedule. So now I am looking for a new groomer. The moral of this story is that being a long time loyal customer does not count with this business. Buyer beware.
