No stars! Worst haircut ever! Sandy should not be cutting hair. My hair is uneven by over an inch from one side to the other, in the front. Can't get it fixed yet, because it's too short. All I asked for was a basic trim. Wanted the back trimmed, told her to not really touch the front. I was searching for a hair salon and liked the name, "Gratitude". Thi has been doing my cut and color for a year now and I am very happy. Thi is a good listener and does what I would like, although I am open to suggestions. I wanted a little purple in my hair, and she suggested that I have some underneath near the front. This was the first place I checked out since moving from Houston and I will definitely be going back. Got a great trim (which is definitely not always the case) and great service, went during lunchtime in the middle of the week and had no wait. All the services they advertise are super affordable and I was surprised when my hair blow out was included in the already super great price of $15 for the haircut. Made an appointment for 3 p.m. on Thursday spoke to T directly. Got off work early, drove across town, made it there by 2:55 only to be told T left and had an appointment. I told the gal this is the second time this has happened and I referred a co-worker and it happened to her as well. She replied that T's health comes first, I said of course it does but that's personal and this is business and she could have called me to let me know to cancel as this is the second time this has happened to me. She agreed that I should have been called. I let her know that I would not be back and I would not be referring anyone else to that salon. Very unprofessional and a blatant disregard for her customer's time and loyalty. I have been a client for 2 years. read more

I feel horrible writing this review and was not going to, but two months later and I'm still dealing with the horrible cut I was given. Tee was my stylist and initially I really liked her. Please see my photos below which were taken THREE DAYS after I saw Tee. I came in just for a standard cut and a color consolation. I had previously had an ombré with balayage for summer. From that my ends were dead and so I decided to color over it and get a simple trim to get rid of dead ends. To just cover my ends on my very short hair, she charged me $50 and another $15 for the cut. First off let me point out that the color they use I believe is very cheap. The shampoo and conditioner they use is a very cheap generic brand. Please note the color immediately faded and I was left with muddy and brassy toned ends after a few days and about two weeks later the color was out completely. I ended up having to redo the color myself with Wella dye from Sally's and since have had no problems with the color fading. That cost me $12 to do it at home (wow what a waste to have spent the $50). My biggest complaint however was my cut. It was horrible and sadly my bangs took most of the damage and are still not grown out enough to fix two months later. Tee asked how I do my bangs and I told her that I like to have a slight swoop bang. With that she bluntly cut into my bangs and then some. She left me with a straight awkward line and destroyed any face framing I had. I had to go to another salon days later and pay to have them fix them. The girl at the new salon was honest and said there wasn't much she could do and tried her best even it out, but said unfortunately I would have to let it grow out. The cut was done bluntly, no texturing, blending or even point cutting to lighten it up. It's been two months and two cuts to fix it later my hair still looks horrible. It also is not growing back the way it used to. I'm miserable and regret that I ever listened to other yelpers and came into this salon. I called Tee a few days after the cut and told her I wanted a refund and was told I had to email the owner which is ridiculous. Please beware of this place and don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I guess there is quite a difference between a "hair salon" and an actual barber. Went there because my old barber left the neighborhood. All I wanted was a simple, conservative, businessman's haircut, but I couldn't get that idea across. I ended up with the weirdest and downright worst haircut of my life. I found another barber in Applewood that was able to fix it fairly well and, fortunately, it will grow out. It was cheap ($10, I think), but in this case, I still didn't get me money's worth. Of course, it actually cost me the price of a real (and skilled) barber, plus the $10 butcher job. Go anywhere else. read more

Don't go here for eyelash extensions. Went here because my regular girl is gone for the summer and they cost the same. For $25 (for a touch up) my regular girl spends about an hour going through my lashes with tweezers to make sure every real eyelash has an extension attached. She then seals them twice. Here, it took them 15 min, they put each lash on with their fingers (which I think is unprofessional, and also doesn't allow for each lash to be attached as close to the root as possible). There definitely isn't an extension on each of my real lashes. Then, when I called to complain, the day after, I didn't even get an apology, just an "ok", they were very rude on the phone and didn't seem to care at all, very disappointing. I'd rather go through the summer without lash extensions than give them any of my money again. read more
