The issue? There's an insane amount of information and it's hard to determine what works for one curly haired girl to the next. What I did learn though was that there are salons specifically catered to curly clients. I got to googling and found Ellenoire in my area. My first visit was a virgin cut where I learned so much about the dos and don't specifically for my curly hair. I walked away with all new products that I love and have helped my hair drastically and now I know hot to take care of my specific hair. I got a bunch of compliments and was able to share my new knowledge with others. I honestly can't recommend this place enough, especially for those who have no clue how to properly take care of their curls!

I have to say that I have never felt this unwelcome in any business before in my life. They treated me like a nuisance. One of the ladies just kept talking and talking on the phone about her car accident and her insurance while I was getting my hair done. Horrible customer service and the color wasn't good either, the lady made a mess and asked me if I had to go to work the next day because it looked pretty bad. The only good thing about this place is that it's cheap, but I'd rather pay more and have a good experience.

That's called class. However, recently I booked an appointment with them and went in for said appointment; which is 40 minutes away from my home only to be publicly humiliated. I was seated in the consultation chair in the middle of the salon thinking she was going to start but instead I was told very loudly in front of staff and clients that their products don't mesh well with my type of hair and that no one wants to touch my hair. It was very embarrassing, it was cruel, I felt so discriminated. Needless to say I will not be going back to that salon but it goes to show you that regardless of how loyal and kind you are to people, sometimes people are just not the same. As greys started to come in, I was covering them with store-bought dye and it was ruining my hair. The final straw came after having a baby when I tried to "freshen up" my look by having a cheaper stylist give me blunt bangs (like in "The Devil Wears Prada"). I did NOT look like Anne Hathaway like anticipated. I needed help. A friend (with fabulous hair) recommended Dee, and she gave me a layered cut that added volume and movement to my previously deceased locks. She brought my colour back to a rich, highlighted brown from the shoe-polish black I had unwittingly progressed into. She taught me how to work with the natural waves that had shown up with the baby instead of against them. The products are high quality and work wonderfully. Everything is expensive*, but you get what you pay for. *They offer a "T-Zone Touch Up" for a good price (that makes sure your colour lasts between cuts) that really helps extend the value of your treatment. I can get away with a cut every 3 months instead of every six weeks now, so it ends up being reasonable.

They're high end, professionally trained stylists who are good at what they do. They're not like the 'stylists' at the walmart 'hair salon' who basically close their eyes and snip blindly at your hair until you look like you let a two year old cut it with safety scissors.
