Its also a gorgeous setting inside, clean and professional, convenient parking and location, etc. Joe is one of the nicest guys ever, you can't help but love him. My first time going there, I felt so welcomed by everyone, and his wife (the other owner) even came up and introduced herself and was such a sweetheart. TBH I find that at some the better salons that a lot of the people can be somewhat snobby in a sense, and can make you feel a little bit uncomfortable. But the people at teknik couldn't be any more sweet and friendly. Joe always knows exactly how to give me the hair I dream of, even when I can't pinpoint it myself or describe it fully. They are miracle workers there the price is fair and costs the same as any of the good salons in the area. I'm so grateful that someone I know referred me to teknik, as I had such a difficult time finding the right hairdresser for me since I moved to the area. Every time I went somewhere else prior to finding them, my hair always ended up being underwhelming and sub par. And they'd never be able to give me exactly what I wanted or asked for. But I couldn't be happier with the incredible results I get with Joe from teknik. He always listens intently to everything I want and I love that about him. 5 out of 5 doesn't cut it!…read more I've been a client of Monika's for some time now. The very first time I saw Monika, it was just to get a hair cut. I had very long (almost waist length hair), and it was dry, damaged, and unmanageable. I decided I was going to cut it, jusy past shoulder length. Monika immediately reassured me, and took control of what I wanted. She listened to what I was asking, made her suggestions, ensured I was ok with this big decision, and then went for it! Before this encounter, I had not been in a salon, for over 2 years. I was sick of bad experiences, or just being content with my new hair cut. During that first cut, Monika got me to open up about my "hair goals". I told her what I wished I could do, but my hair was so damaged, and I was too afraid to try. Again, she reassured me. Finally, when I went back to get a trim, decided to let her take care of colouring it (box colour and roots were attrocious). WOW! Is all I can say, it was absolutely amazing, and I haven't turned back since! I let Monika do whatever she wants with my hair! She definitely knows best, and my hair has come such a long way, is so much healthier (not just healthy looking!), all while I've been able to enjoy having it coloured! Both my brothers also see Monika, and it is amazing. Much like me, one was very shy and timid with hair cuts (wore a hat at all times because he was too nervous to get a hair cut), and Monika world wonders! He doesn't even look like the same person, and certainly does not wear hats all the time anymore! We travel over an hour to see Monika, so I cannot recommend her highly enough!! I've added pictures of the first, and most recent colours from Monika. Even looking at the two before pics, you can see the complete difference in health of my hair. Which was much worse when I first when to see her! Monika does truly amazing work, and has given not only me, but my brother as well, confidence, and a love for our hair, and that is absolutely priceless!

First handed she never used scissors to cut my hair, the cut consisted of using some kind of razor. No scissors were used, I requested the back of of my hair to be done with the use of an electric shaver... Anything I requested to have done she totally Missed the mark. At this time im very sick and wanted a style that was short and manageable. Nothing about the style was even close to the pictures I showed her. My hair was uneven and out of control even when I tried to style it my hair never Looked styled properly. I had no other option but to return to have my hair corrected and thanks to Caitlin I feel Like I was heard, she cut it to a style that is manageable and what a difference. The only drawback was I paid over 40.00 for the first cut and when I booked my appointment for the second haircut I was charged a second time as well. So, a hair cut that should of cost me over 40.00 Now cost me another 30.00 to fix Jasnas mistakes. I never had the intentions of paying 70.00 for a style that should have been done correctly the first time.. I dont know about you, but I dont have that kind of money and if I did I certainly would have gone to a reputable salon.
