That's called class. However, recently I booked an appointment with them and went in for said appointment; which is 40 minutes away from my home only to be publicly humiliated. I was seated in the consultation chair in the middle of the salon thinking she was going to start but instead I was told very loudly in front of staff and clients that their products don't mesh well with my type of hair and that no one wants to touch my hair. It was very embarrassing, it was cruel, I felt so discriminated. Needless to say I will not be going back to that salon but it goes to show you that regardless of how loyal and kind you are to people, sometimes people are just not the same. Stay kind everyone, You never know The impact you will have on someone.

I wanted to get a color and they said the same thing, that they can't do it because they don't have enough people, although there were 4 ladies working. Finally, they said they would do it. I have to say that I have never felt this unwelcome in any business before in my life. They treated me like a nuisance. One of the ladies just kept talking and talking on the phone about her car accident and her insurance while I was getting my hair done. Horrible customer service and the color wasn't good either, the lady made a mess and asked me if I had to go to work the next day because it looked pretty bad. The only good thing about this place is that it's cheap, but I'd rather pay more and have a good experience.

Its also a gorgeous setting inside, clean and professional, convenient parking and location, etc. Joe is one of the nicest guys ever, you can't help but love him. TBH I find that at some the better salons that a lot of the people can be somewhat snobby in a sense, and can make you feel a little bit uncomfortable. But the people at teknik couldn't be any more sweet and friendly. Joe always knows exactly how to give me the hair I dream of, even when I can't pinpoint it myself or describe it fully. They are miracle workers there the price is fair and costs the same as any of the good salons in the area. I'm so grateful that someone I know referred me to teknik, as I had such a difficult time finding the right hairdresser for me since I moved to the area. Every time I went somewhere else prior to finding them, my hair always ended up being underwhelming and sub par. And they'd never be able to give me exactly what I wanted or asked for. But I couldn't be happier with the incredible results I get with Joe from teknik. He always listens intently to everything I want and I love that about him. The moment you walk in they take your coat and offer you a beverage (coffee, tea, water). Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I'm not sure about walking in because I've always made appointments to avoid having to wait or being turned away because they can get busy. Downside is that it is located downtown and parking is always a pain. You also never know who you're gonna get so you won't know how good or experienced they are or how long they will take. But you can always request the same student or stylist if you're comfortable with that one person. I've had a fairly new student before who needed quite a lot of guidance from a senior stylist but I was fine with it. She did a good job and the stylist was great at teaching.

For years, I didn't think it was possible for my hair to achieve a natural looking blond colour. After a terrible colouring job elsewhere, I went to Lisa to help correct it. She did a phenomenal job fixing the horrible blending the job that was done at the other location. She lightened my hair so that the blond came out beautifully. I am seriously blown away by the colour and can't believe how good it looks!! The first photo is the colour I came in with, the second is the colour after Lisa!
