If you're not comfortable writing your name on the publicly exposed list that sits on the counter top near the reception area, they refuse to see you. I was working 90 minutes away so called 4 times before arriving at my 1pm appointment to check on the Doctor's schedule. I agreed to the 1pm appointment because it's "the first appointment after lunch" and the staff shouldn't be behind schedule. I called because wanted to know if the appointments were running ON TIME today. 3 times the person who answered the phone said "Dermatology Physicians of Ohio, Please Hold" and clicked me into HOLD mode. They didn't ask IF I would be willing to hold. I hung up. Later, on the 4th try, after waiting out the HOLD, I was told "the doctor is running right on time". I arrive on time. I ask is the doctor running On Time? YES! At 1:07, I asked, how is the doctor doing on schedule? The reply was , "She is right on time". At 1:50pm the Nurse Practitioner apologized for running late. She hurried through a skin exam of my questionable looking moles and left the room promptly 6 minutes after she entered. Had I known the schedule was running almost one hour behind, I wouldn't have sped while driving to the appointment!!!! All they had to do was be honest with me when I called!!!! Don't visit here if you can find anyplace else to go.

Not to mention this "non payment" took place in June of 2013 and I am just now hearing about this now in March of 2015!!! When I called Dr Heaphy's office to question this mistake the receptionist could not have been more rude. When I questioned why there was no phone call made right away to me regarding this issue, all she did was pass the blame and avoided my question... This receptionist kept telling me they sent notice letters to me, even after I told her I moved from Lima in 2013 at least 6 times. But that's not the point... The point is that if I didn't respond to the first, or the second, or the third letter, why wouldn't you call me to try and correct this issue? And not 2 years after the fact?! I mean, I feel like it's common sense! Then she blamed me for not leaving a forwarding address... I mean, how was I to know I would be billed for something I already paid for? It takes a lot to get me upset but she managed to do it during our 5:57 second phone call. So my advice to all new or current patients: Keep all your receipts from them for a minimum of 2 years apparently to make sure they don't double charge you... BTW- I had a couple moles removed and the stitching was sub-par. I had to go to a new dermatologist in Columbus to try and hide the new scars.

Well, he must have been having a really bad day, because he took one look at my face and in a very dismissive tone of voice he said he wouldn't do anything because there were several spots on my face that were irritated and still healing. Okay, no problem, I thought-he could just treat my acne and then treat my coloring problem. But, I was absolutely taken aback when he abruptly stopped, and again, in a very dismissive tone, he told me that he would NOT treat my coloring problem until my face was completely healed. So, in that same dismissive tone of voice he told me to call for an appointment when my face was totally healed. He then turned and just walked right out of the room! I could NOT believe what had just happened! To this day, I still do not have a clue as to why he acted that way that day. But, I guess I'll never know because I will NEVER make the mistake of seeing HIM again!

This is hard for me to write…read more A while back my mother got a mammogram at her doctor and she told my mother she should get a core biopsy. Her primary care had found calcifications in the mammogram and she wanted it checked out. My mother went and got the biopsy at the Women's Health Center in Lima. After a week, she was asked to come in for her test results. The test results were being given to her the day before Thanksgiving and since I was off work, i told her I would take her and then we could have brunch together. It was easy finding the health center as it is in the same medical center as my dermatologist. We went inside and she checked in. We sat in the waiting room for about five minutes before we were called in and were taken to a room which looked like an office. I started to get worried because, this didn't feel normal to me. Two women then walked in and introduced themselves to me. One was the doctor who performed the biopsy, the other was a social worker.... and the doctor informed us my mom has breast cancer. I literally felt the room spin on me. I must have obviously reeled or showed something because they wanted to make sure i was ok. I wasn't but i tried to compose myself. The doctor told us about what was found, and the plan. They had a team of doctors... a surgeon, a oncologist, a radiological oncologist who would be working with her along with the social worker. The social worker would be there for my mom thru things and we were given the information on what we needed to do. They also said the surgeon would come to the womens health center the next week to check her over. I am thankful and appreciative that the Women's health center found my mom's cancer so we can do something about it. I am also happy so many of the services are there and will be there like the social worker and the radiological oncologist. At the center i noticed that there is also a wig center located inside that my mother may end up having to use. Like i said, this was difficult to experience and write about. All i can say is this... if you are a woman, get routine mammograms. Get checked out!
