However, I do believe my father would still be alive if he hadn't went to Lima Manor! My dad had been taken to icu after being at this facility. The nurses were surprised how horrible the infection of bed sores, internal infection, along with an ankle injury. It was obvious Lima Manor didn't care for him or change him often. I spoke to my dad several times and he wanted to get out of bed, yet they didn't do physical therapy enough. My dad didn't want to be in a diaper, bit have the dignity to use a bathroom but they wouldn't let him. He had two cell phones and his wallet stolen while he was there. He was absolutely miserable there! We couldn't get him moved because of the covid pandemic and he couldn't have visitors. We were unaware how horrible his condition had become until he was taken to the hospital and we asked his doctor if we could have permission to see him. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility. Even the hospice nurse was surprised how horrible he was and blamed Lima Manor! Lima Manor- get your act together! Save lives... I'm thinking they are into making money and not rehabilitating but keeping people in their beds for the money!

I ate in the cafeteria many times. I'm vegetarian, and during the week had multiple choices, including a full salad bar, often a vegetable or cheese pizza though not always, and the option to order a grilled cheese at the grill. Note that on the weekend there are far fewer selections and I had to make do with a very limited salad bar and a waffle maker. But for a non-vegetarian, this is an excellent cafeteria, enough so that I would consider coming here for a quick lunch if you work nearby. I really liked all the slices of pie for dessert and treated myself during a difficult time.

Was there for 2 days and was sent home with blood thinners and pneumonia meds. 3 weeks later I was back to Urgent care with 102 fever only to find out that what they gave me really wasn't the right med for pneumonia. I guess now you need to be your own doctor. Going forward I will Google my med before ever leaving the Dr office. I thought I was in good hands guess I was wrong. I found communication between Drs to be a big problem here.

I spoke to admissions and was assured they could and would take care of him compassionately. New administration came in shortly thereafter and things changed for the worse. They have absolutely no skills in taking care of a dementia patient. I caught them on the phone texting instead of seeing/ hearing my father less than 8 ft. away need help. I saw another aide with her head down napping instead of watching the few patients on this wing. There was no activities for them except to place them in front of the TV. When my father exhibited a normal progression of Lewy Body dementia, they immediately wanted to kick him out. As he lay dying in May, the facility got even worse. They basically left him to die without food or drink before he was on hospice as they did not feed a man who became incapable of using his hands. The doctor did not authorize a change in his menu to soft foods. His bed was broken so he could not sit up to eat. In fact when we were able to go into his room, the food tray was dropped off without any liquids. We were told it was a mistake. Every day we saw more and more mistakes. Imagine what would happen if we did not show up as many do not have an advocate. Our family provided him with almost round the clock care for his last 5 days since it was clear he wasn't being cared for properly. If you love your family member, do NOT allow them to move to this facility.
