My neighbor and I hired Western Hemlock Tree & Stump Removal to do selective pruning on a shared…read moreWestern white pine, and the result was devastating. We agreed to pruning after a branch had previously fallen on my neighbor's house, so we wanted the work done responsibly and according to an arborist's recommendations. The tree is also classified as a Tier 2 tree under Seattle code (previously called an "exceptional tree"), which made it even more important that the pruning be done carefully and conservatively. Before any work was done, I hired an arborist to evaluate the tree and provide a report, which was referenced in the contract. Unfortunately, it became obvious afterward that they either never read the report or completely ignored its recommendations. The tree was massively overtrimmed and heavily underskirted to the point that it now looks mutilated. I am genuinely depressed every time I look at it. What was once a beautiful mature tree now looks stripped and unnatural. The company never communicated with us directly before doing the work and instead coordinated only with my neighbor while I was out of town. At no point did they review the plan with us, discuss the arborist recommendations, or confirm the scope of pruning before cutting. To their credit, they did provide a partial refund afterward, but it does not make up for the irreversible damage done to the tree or the distress this has caused. We hired professionals because we wanted careful, informed tree care -- not permanent damage. Extremely disappointed.

The quote was reasonable, and he clearly explained the expected schedule and steps. Marc and his crew were simply amazing! They arrived on time, were very polite, and demonstrated incredible skill in safely removing our tree. They made sure the site was spotless afterward. It was impressive to see such professionalism and talent. We'll definitely call them again and highly recommend their services to anyone needing tree work. We wish we could give more than 5 stars!!!!

Communication was clear, they showed up on time, and the crew worked efficiently and professionally. The cleanup was top-notch -- they left the yard spotless, which you don't always see with tree work. Pricing was fair for the quality of service, and everything was handled exactly as promised. You can tell they take pride in their work. If you're looking for reliable tree removal, tree trimming, or stump grinding in Mukilteo or nearby areas like Edmonds or Lynnwood, I highly recommend High Quality Tree Service. I would definitely use them again.

His price was also the most cost-effective among the three vendors I contacted, so I decided to go with him. Fabian's team of five did an outstanding job. They climbed the tree, trimmed the branches, cleaned up, and hauled everything away--all within just two hours. I also appreciated that they owned their own equipment, which made the work seamless. I'm glad I had this taken care of before the rainy season and truly valued Fabian's expertise, efficiency, and clear communication. I will definitely use his services again when the tree needs trimming in the future!

We were in stop and go traffic on the Woodinville-Duvall road and he was behind me. I didn't go for 2 seconds so he honked. I waved to him. He then began yelling slurs and names out the window at me, flipping me off, and what was really scary was he was driving what looked like 3 inches my the back of my car. Every time we stopped he would scream that I was a "f---king b--ch". I am a teacher and was literally saying "I hope you have a good day!! We aren't going anywhere and you are being very aggressive! you need to stop!" What he didn't realize was that the name of the company "wizard" was in greenish blue letters on the side of the truck WITH a arborist trailer in the back. Anyway. If someone wants work done by someone with this character, then go for it. He is not a nice person and truly was acting irrational on the road. ***edited to add context: this was completely stopped. The car moved up about 5 feet ahead again within 2 seconds. This was not dangerous again because it was stand still traffic (see above that we were stopped long enough for me to hear you scream at me) regardless of me gesturing that the other car ahead of me ALREADY stopped by the time I moved up, you should never speak to the way you did especially with your business plastered across your truck.

Trent stopped by to take a look and was an absolute pleasure to discuss the risk posed by the tree. You can tell he lives, breathes, and loves trees. I asked a lot of questions eager for his expertise. We left feeling extremely comfortable we can keep our tree, with good homework on how to gauge future risk. Thanks Trent and NW Arbor!

We've used NW Arboriculture several times over the years, and they've been consistently honest,…read moreethical, competitively priced, and skilled. After our most recent project with them, I decided it was finally time to give Trent, Heather, and their outstanding team the great review they deserve. For this project, we obtained bids from three other companies in the area while waiting for Trent to come out and bid the project. (NW Arboriculture's only drawback is that they typically book out pretty far in advance, but I'll explain why that may be a good thing a bit later.) Two out of the other three local companies counseled us that we needed to remove a couple of very large trees (that we hadn't been worried about) - at a cost of thousands of dollars per tree - that were in danger of falling down due to disease or damage. Interestingly, their recommendations for which trees needed removal were not identical. The third company's estimator did not recommend the same removals, but the post-visit bidding process was strangely non-specific, and he contradicted himself multiple times during a single conversation. As we were still waiting for NW Arboriculture to come out and bid the project, we hired an independent arborist for a couple hundred bucks to come out and evaluate every tree and shrub on our property. That was money well-spent. He explained why much of what the first two companies' estimators told us was completely wrong. I suppose the generous interpretation is that they just didn't know what they didn't know. The less generous interpretation is that they're frankly unethical. When Trent from NW Arboriculture came out to bid the project, he told us the same stuff as did the independent arborist, which was tremendously reassuring. Further, the great thing about NWA is that the person who bids the project works the project. We had so many items on our bid, that I don't think things would have gone as smoothly if one of the other companies (which don't necessarily have the estimator on the job site) had done the job. Anyway, this is part of the reason why it takes so long for NWA to come out to bid; they have to balance giving estimates with actually doing work. But it's worth the wait. With respect to the work itself, the team was able to take down a bunch of trees without damaging any shrubs that they promised in advance to not damage. I think one had to be sacrificed, but we were counseled about that during the bidding process. They also were very patient and easy to work with during the trimming of some large trees, as we gave them feedback regarding the look we were trying to achieve. About 4-5 hours after starting this sizable project, they wrapped up and cleared away all debris, to the point where our driveway looks more pristine than it has all year. Then they moved on to my neighbor's house and spent the rest of the day there. I asked him if he was happy with their work, and he responded that they did outstanding work for him as well. In summary, I may not even bother with multiple bids in the future, as this process has proven that NWA is clearly one of the best tree removal companies, and unfortunately some of the others in this area are either less knowledgable and/or frankly unethical.
