Everyone is super helpful, smiles and greets you with a smile and a hello. They have national brands and local stuff too like local raw honey, Coca Cola products and Moxie a local Maine soda. Upstairs there is a gun store, fishing tackle, Men's and womenswear including wedding dresses and downstairs there are guns and, tools, hardware supplies (we got a drill bit to drill into concrete) and everything else. There is parking in front of the store but if the lot is full there is more space across the street. I think this is the only store.within 20 miles but the prices seem decent and not your typical up charges for convince. There is a customer service department that handles lotto winners and licenses. Truly one of the nicest people ever works there. The wine selection was not great but wines snobs can't always get what they want. The butcher shop was solid. Super nice guys there with big smiles and hellos. Just courteous people there from the staff to the shoppers. I like this store! Oh and I got a homemade blueberry pie!

They have a seamstress who comes in to help with fitting and will take care of all alterations in a vey reasonable time and for a good price. She has at least 100 different dresses with different colors and styles, all very reasonably priced. Very good space, organized and great lighting.

The dresses I liked they didnt have in a size I could try on and the ones I could try on were discontinued or could not be ordered. My appt was supposed to be an hour but the clerk who was helping me decided that after 45 minutes I had tried on enough dresses and that I, "should go home and think about my options". I went out to my car and cried the whole way home. I even tried to convince my fiance to elope so I wouldnt have to buy a wedding dress. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY REVIEW 4th May 2023…read more I doubt you could get the worst service from gold star cleaners in old town, Maine than I received today. I dropped off my academic robes earlier in the week with a promise they would be ready today. Instead, when I called the outlet tonight, I was told there was no sign of them, and they did not know where they were. A bit of a worry, to say the least. So their poorly trained but delightfully polite member of staff called their manager, who told them he was going to call all the shops to try and find it. Luckily they did find it still at the depot shortly afterward. When. I spoke to the manager they were not prepared to do anything to help me. I was told that they could get it to the old town outlet by 6 pm, giving the impression this would be a massive problem for them and for them to be offering such an amazing service, I should really be thankful for this "compromise" (remember I been told it would be available first thing in the morning today) and he would not change his timing to held a distressed customer. By this time, I had already been at the shop for 40 minutes, and the manager suggested I simply wait another hour and 15 minutes until they could be bothered to drive the 15 minutes from Brewer to old town to fix their mistake was simply ludicrous. Talk about a lack of customer service. During our conversation, I offered several compromises to get my robes to me only to be told they, "We're not The post office or UPS," which is clearly true as they have things like tracking numbers and helpful employees to help customers find out about the service they have bought. I can only hope my robes are there tomorrow, but sadly I fear the worst. So here are my rankings Customer service 0 Helpfulness of management 0 Problem resolution 0 Concern 0 Courtesy of shop staff is very good, the management 0 Do not use, go anywhere else but Gold Star Dry cleaning Up date, when I wore my robes on Friday I have to say the quality of the cleaning was very poor (see photo) that stain looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. They also lacked the fresh dry cleaned smell you except. This led me to propose a scenario of events. Thursday my items were misplaced" aka lost, and not cleaned. The delay involved the depot doing a rush job on them, effectively a quick press and race to the shop to save place and no dry cleaning, or cleaning at all for that matter. So I can now add to my scores: standard of cleaning, very poor. This led me to do more research on the company, all I can say is I wish I'd looked at their reviews on the Better Buisness Beureau as they seem to be reflective of the service than the 3.8 average they have here and in Yelp, where clearly they are using friends to get a higher review. What is us laughable is this quote from their website. " We take pride in being the best and we back it up 100%. If you're not 100% satisfied in any way we'll clean your garment again at no cost. If we can't make it right, I'll give you your money back! Quality, service and your complete satisfaction are our main goals." talk about misleading advertising. Not that I'm asking for my money back that bird has flow, as I'll never set foot in one of their hovels ever again. All I want to do is prevent any reader of this review from receiving the same horrific service & bad treatment, because as customers receiving this "service", we deserve better, and you can get that better service just about anywhere else. So now I have 4 dresses that I absolutely hate...my girls have been down to have alterations done more than they should have! Living 100 miles away I was told to come get the rest of the dresses Friday...get there and guess what? My MOHs dress is still not done and I get married Saturday! I got in contact with the owner and she is basically blaming me for ordering an extra dress to fix mine (after her seamstress told my girls it would look stupid) Not my fault lady when you ordered the wrong dress is the first place! Anyway do your research before using this store for ANYTHING...also the staff is very rude if you had issues with anything!
