It is a huge event center but only enough room for about 10 cars in the parking lot so be aware that parking is an issue. The lady running the center was rude and spoke to guests and hosts like she did not want them around. She told us we would have 45 minutes after the event to clean up but walked up as soon as the event ended asking for more money and sarcastically asking what time we are planned to be out. If I could give more stars I would! I absolutely love this place. MS. Erma is the absolute best . This Lil lady is sooo loveable n fiesty all at the same time I spent hours up there getting on her nerves‍ bc I was nervous but she gave me just what she was supposed 2 give and that was a wonderful venue to celebrate my 50th birthday party ! I used this company for my daughter's Sweet 16 on 10/02 of this year. All I can say is STAY AWAY. I paid over 1900 for this and I even paid additional fees for Ms. Erma to cater. Smh, what I received was not good at all. My food was not hot or even warm. The fried chicken was fried chicken strips. The baked chicken was baked chicken strips. The catfish was beyond salty and the rolls where horrible. That was just a little of the food, i named, but again it all was very Dis tasteful. As for plates, cups, napkins, silverware, Ms.Erma told us 5 mins before the event we needed to provide all the above. Now if your catering an event shouldn't you provide said things? She was very nice and sweet until all the money was collected and there after did we see her other side. She constantly forgot the date,time, etc of the event so every month I would remind her. Come the day of the event, she tried to make me end my party a whole hour and a half early. Not to mention, during the party she was in the rented venue of mines the entire time. What took the icing off the cake was when she was showcasing the room off during my daughters party. Ms. Erma then tried to provide a bogus contract that had information on it and a signature that I never provided(hence I live in Colorado and she didn't know how to send a contract via the computer). From one business owner to another, please get it together. You are the reason a lot of black owned business have a bad rep. I see why this event center has gotten such bad reviews. I just got off the phone at 6:50 with someone named Ermma to see if the venue was available for New Years' Eve. First of all, she didn't even answer the phone professionally, I had to ask if it was Gray's Event Center. Secondly, she told me that she just talked to me earlier today and yesterday. When I told her it wasn't me she tells me someone has the same phone number and we've already talked. I have never spoken with this lady in my life!!!!!! When she told me the price was $1200 for four hours that took the cake. Bad attitude, unprofessional and confrontational. Run, fast. read more

I try really hard to support "black" businesses, but these people make me remember why I don't. The "wedding planner" Katrice Walker was tacky and unprofessional. They will ruin your wedding day and then act like everything was perfect... Please run far away. I don't know where start besides save your money! Go somewhere else! Never seen a place so unprofessional. I have video of the wedding planner on the wedding day at the receiption in sweat pants shaking her ass. Literally! The wedding rehearsal started 45 minutes late because they were unprepared. The reception dinner was not booked properly so there is a crying bride and 35 guests looking crazy at a restaurant, luckily they helped us out. Bridal party gets to the hotel, no rooms booked until April over a month after the actual wedding date. Bride crying again, a stranger had to just give her their room. No bride or groom deserves to be treated this way. It was embarrassing! EVERYTHING that could go wrong on the wedding day went wrong. They served Walmart chicken and instant potatoes oh and 3 green beans each. We ate at about 10:30 pm btw. So please, SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go somewhere else. read more

This was the worst wedding experience that I've ever been a part of. First of all, Katrice Walker was extremely unprofessional. She was unorganized and cut a lot of corners to make sure that she would pocket a lot more money. The wedding rehearsal was poorly executed and she even yelled at people in the wedding party. She also made inappropriate comments about not wanting a "dike bitch" to walk anyone down the aisle. I'm guessing that she thought it wouldn't get back to the bride. She scheduled the rehearsal dinner for the WRONG date, making 35 people have to wait for over an hour to be accommodated because of her error. She reserved hotel rooms for the wrong night and in the wrong name, so after the long ass wait for dinner, the bride and groom had to figure out where they were going to stay because she messed up the reservation AGAIN!! On the wedding day, she was dressed in sweats in front of ALL of the guests and she didn't know HOW to coordinate a ceremony. The food that was tasted during the consultation was NOT the food that was served at the reception. She sent someone to the store to purchase chicken and instant mashed potatoes to serve to all the guest. I think Katrice thought that this was HER wedding because nothing was done as the bride requested. My advice, run far away! She ruined my best friends wedding. The owner promised to fire her and issue my friend and her husband a refund, only to change his mind and tell them that he couldn't do it. Trust me, when they go to court (because there will be a court date) the ENTIRE bridal party will be there. read more

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience I had at Gray,s Event Center in Lancaster, TX. Me and my husband have been married for 20 years and for our 20 year anniversary we planned to have the wedding we never had. So on April 15, 2017 we had the wedding we always dreamed of. It was great. Latrice Walker is excellent, Johnny is also excellent, but Katrice went above and beyond to make this day special. I cannot thank her ( Katrice or Johnny enough for pour years of wishing for this day to finally come true and be as beautiful as it was.
