The NHS really has a bad rep here in the UK and I usually hear only folks complaining about the system and about their GP. Let me instead give a shout-out to Gray's Inn Medical Practice: you're doing really well and I appreciate that you're always accommodating.
We moved (back) to the UK last year and eventually we were facing the task of finding a GP. Here, you're generally being assigned a GP based on where you live, but that didn't really make sense for us: we'd be living in a temporary place for a few months before moving back to our old flat in a different area. This is where Gray's Inn Medical Practice comes in: they don't have a "catchment area" but accept folks from different parts of London.
I've been to the practice several times now for blood tests etc. and it's been a good experience every time. The best thing: someone actually picks up the phone when you call them, which wasn't the case at my previous GP.
Please note: if you're looking for a "steady" doctor/nurse that recognizes you, this ain't the place. But everyone I've interacted with has been super friendly. read more
