I love this place ... been here twice they are pet friendly clean... and staffs are friendly wish I could take my 3 dogs though.. 2 is the limit. :((( They have a pool, gym... and the location is awesome it's close to everything ... defiantly a gem.!!

Clean. Close to App State. Courteous staff. We stayed here while on a recruiting visit for our son. I probably wouldn't have chosen this hidden gem on my own but I'm glad the University did. The staff were really courteous at check in. Our room was very clean and updated with modern, tasteful finishes and decor. It gives lodge vibes. The gym is cute, clean and had the equipment I needed. It's very small so I'm glad I'm an early riser and had it to myself the entire workout. There is a breakfast buffet included in your stay that many rave about. I checked it out to report to the family but we aren't big on shared buffets. Others seem to really enjoying it. If you lean towards being health conscious, just know your options may be limited. But the biscuits looked amazing if it's your cheat meal of the week. If you're in Boone, consider this spot. If our son chooses App State, I'm sure we will be back.

We stayed here during our weekend for Land of Oz. We wanted something a little nicer than 'basic' hotels. This place was really cute and cozy. Rooms were clean and spacious for us 3. Beds were comfy especially after a long day of walking Oz! Would definitely stay here again. My husband did add on flowers and chocolates for me which was a fun surprise and the hotel did a great job having them in the room upon us checking in. The chocolates were amazing! Cute little gift shop as well!

Affordable. STUPENDOUS service. AMAZING breakfast. Check out was flexible and even gave me the option to check in early (you have to call) Please stay here.

The recently renovated Graystone Lodge, Ascend Hotel Collection, is a cozy lodge inspired hotel where the minute you walk in you feel at home. You're greeted with a large inviting stone fireplace to welcome guests, seating area with TV, and breakfast area where they serve the best complimentary hot breakfast buffet. Beyond that they're close to shopping, restaurants, and only about 3 miles to downtown and 2 miles to App State.   We got a large king room with a large comfy bed and plenty of room to lounge. One of the highlights of the room is the beautiful light-up Blue Ridge Mountains mural in the headboard. It looks just like the mountains blue and purple! In the bathroom, they've upgraded to beautiful floating vanity, upgraded shower and mirrors, as well as shiplap walls!   The amenities abound as well at Graystone Lodge! In the lobby, there is a cozy fireplace with a reading area. The Lodge offers a hot buffet for breakfast with waffles, eggs, their own egg casserole bake, and even Dan'l Boone ham! They have a small market area for late night snacks and a large indoor pool great for swimming all year. The service was amazing, the staff welcoming, and breakfast staff helpful.

The bathrooms were modern, clean and I loved the Beekman products!

The room walls are thin so we heard a lot of noise from the outside waking us up early in the morning. You also have to pay for parking at 25 a night but there was a lot of construction making it difficult to get our car out. I know not the hotels fault but definitely keep that in mind. They had really nice robes. They also had a sound machine in the room. We had a thing on the wall that would randomly flash at night and beep. We had issues with the bathroom. The door would not close all the way and We could not get hot water when we tried to shower late at night. We had to go to the front desk and they had to call maintenence which took a bit to work through the issue. Eventually they got the hot water back but an annoying time waster. They discount our stay at 10% for the issue. The breakfast was really nice full of local pastries. The staff was so nice and friendly. The lobby area and bar was super nice and had a cute vibe. The roof top is super pretty at nice with nice fire pits. The staff was super friendly. I would have rated a 4 star but the price was high plus the issues we had knocked it down a star.

Our favorite part was the location. It was so conveniently located. They have a front door with access to king street and a back door to Howard street which was convenient. We were able to come and go easily. The rooms aren't huge but had everything we needed including a mini fridge and the shower was really nice. Of note- it didn't have a huge window in the room, just a small one towards the ceiling. There was a tv with lots of channels and a channel guide. We received some coupons and recommendations to nearby businesses which was a nice touch. Our experience was a bit different because it was very snowy so we couldn't enjoy the rooftop bar. The parking was also tricky- they have a loading zone right in front for checking in, but we circled the block several times and it was taken every time so it was kind of a pain to unload our car. We also had trouble finding the parking lot (even with the address, directions and map) which is behind the hotel, across the street and diagonal from the hotel. We had to circle a few times to find it. But that may have just been because it was dark and snowing. Our favorite part was definitely the breakfast. It is at the downstairs bar. It is complementary when you purchase the parking pass, and you order what you want from a menu. They have lots of options, including fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and lots of pastries and baked goods from stick boy bakery in town. We love stick boy so this was amazing! So high quality and tasty! They also have other things available for purchase like avocado toast. They also have coffee from a local coffee shop available all day. We would go back!!!

Apparently everyone else does the same thing, because this hotel is on what is apparently the main road traversing the region, and the traffic noise was terrible, which is not what I thought was going to happen in Boone NC. The room was functional and I had no difficulty getting late checkout. The internet was functional for telework and I even found work space outside my room when I had to check out. Breakfast is not included, but I had no difficulty finding quality options in the town. I wonder if the road noise would be less with a room facing away from the street, but I'm not sure if that would be the case. Maybe the surrounding mountains create a bowl that reflects all the sound back in. If I had some real quality method of reducing the noise, I'd have liked the hotel more.

The customer service was excellent. I'm probably going to butcher the spelling, but Janine did a stellar job coordinating the accommodation for our stay. The king suite with 2 bedrooms made the stay so much easier with the kids as we were able to put them in separate rooms. The room was clean, well-stocked, and even came with a little balcony. Just a heads up, half of the hotel faces the road and it can be a bit loud with the cars driving by (highly recommend bringing a pair of earplugs).

The road to the complex is extremely narrow that makes me question if an emergency vehicle or fire truck could navigate it. In addition to it being narrow, it is a windy road on a cliff with no guard rails. I had a panic attack on the drive up; thankfully, I wasn't the driver. When we turned to road with the gated entrance, it was gravel, overgrown, and we couldn't even see past the gate. And this was at 5:30pm with full daylight. I was so panicked that my husband thought I was going to have a heart attack. We immediately turned around & made our way back down the horrid road, riding the brake the entire time & with a vehicle right on our bumper who apparently wasn't as upset as we were. Thank goodness no vehicle came in the opposite direction. I do feel there should have been some hint as to this "feature" of the facility. If I had known of this, there is no way I would have chosen this place for our well-deserved restful weekend. We ended up going back home & lost our money.
