They are a local chain with multiple locations throughout Texas, founded nearly 50 years ago and still run by the same family. This location in the Greater Heights area is one of 4 in Houston. Whether it's a fridge on wheels, disposable plasticware, or a nacho cheese dispenser they really have it all. They have commercial grade fryers, heat lamps, all kinds of specialty cutlery, kitchen apparel (#1), sanitation supplies, massive food scales, and so many interesting things that aren't available in most stores. I have only come away from here for utensils and table coverings, but I could envision so much more. Everything can be ordered online through their website for delivery and pickup. Shipping is surprisingly free and the customer service is on point for both the staff in store and the folks handling the online orders. I think the prices are another selling point as what's advertised online is what will be sold in the store. Whether I need a BBQ grill and metal stools for my next patio event or buffet trays for a special occasion, I know what to expect in the future for this stellar local service. __________ (#1) Chef's hats? I wanted to know what the scents were like so I spent some time checking them out. This was my first time in their store. Everyone was some what friendly. Some were great and others were really not engaged and standoffish. The store is definitely expensive. I saw a few things I wanted and will be coming back for later. I was able to find a great Maison Berger (this was the last one and was the display) and since it was my first time I got 10% off. The lady in the gifts/candle section was able to help me with my purchase and decent experience. Might go back to check out new scents and purchase a couple for family.

I sincerely wished that I had gotten the name of the wonderful man, who was working at Bering's and who immediately began helping me find what I needed to buy. He literally walked me around, asking others who also worked there, where to find these items. Of course we ended up in the right section with a multitude of selections which I truly appreciated. I found what I needed and I was a very happy customer! This person's excellent professional service was extremely appreciated. Next time I'm at Bering's I will try to find him, so I can edit this review and add his name so he gets recognized for his over-the-top service!!!

We were greeted as soon as we arrived, and I loved seeing the variety of products they carried. There were so many cool household items, clothing pieces, and of course, fragrance! We spent most of our time in the fragrance section, and the associate helping us was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She made the experience even more enjoyable and gave us plenty of time to explore and smell different fragrances. Such a unique and fun place to shop! The selection of individual stuff was a bit lacking but they did have a lot of stuff (for example, not a lot of Jellycat plushies or Ravensburger puzzles or Baggu bags but they managed to have these items). The candle/perfume and apothecary sections were heavily scented and honestly kind of sickening. Things are priced ABSURDLY here. I saw a shot glass for $200. It's a place to walk with friends & guffaw at the prices. Be careful walking around the glassware - one stumble could cost you thousands. I managed to purchase a bowl for $8, discounted because it was missing the chopsticks that accompany it, & the cashier ran after me after checkout to give me the chopsticks ($16) for free because she found them after I checked out. Great customer service.

But you can park around in the Rice Village area and make a day of it to walk around and dine and shop. The place is cozy and it feels like you're in someone's home with all the collectibles, groceries, tea sets and decor. You can find everything from tea, trinkets, sweets and fine tea sets to Guinness and Manchester United collectibles. If you love Paddington, you'll find a nice selection of official Paddington items too. The staff is friendly, and helpful. Even though I have never been to England, the shop is reminiscent to what I've seen on tv and hopefully I get my self to experience it someday soon. Until then, I'll continue to enjoy the delights that British Isles provides me with.
