They are a local chain with multiple locations throughout Texas, founded nearly 50 years ago and still run by the same family. This location in the Greater Heights area is one of 4 in Houston. Whether it's a fridge on wheels, disposable plasticware, or a nacho cheese dispenser they really have it all. They have commercial grade fryers, heat lamps, all kinds of specialty cutlery, kitchen apparel (#1), sanitation supplies, massive food scales, and so many interesting things that aren't available in most stores. I have only come away from here for utensils and table coverings, but I could envision so much more. Everything can be ordered online through their website for delivery and pickup. Shipping is surprisingly free and the customer service is on point for both the staff in store and the folks handling the online orders. I think the prices are another selling point as what's advertised online is what will be sold in the store. Whether I need a BBQ grill and metal stools for my next patio event or buffet trays for a special occasion, I know what to expect in the future for this stellar local service. __________ (#1) Chef's hats? You can get cleaning products, keys made, children's clothing, books, toys, accessories, fine chocolates, order invitations/stationary, buy plasticware; plates, silverware, napkins, cookware, glasses, etc etc etc On this occasion I stopped in for a few specific items that I needed for the dinner party I was hosting. I sincerely wished that I had gotten the name of the wonderful man, who was working at Bering's and who immediately began helping me find what I needed to buy. He literally walked me around, asking others who also worked there, where to find these items. Of course we ended up in the right section with a multitude of selections which I truly appreciated. I found what I needed and I was a very happy customer! This person's excellent professional service was extremely appreciated. Next time I'm at Bering's I will try to find him, so I can edit this review and add his name so he gets recognized for his over-the-top service!!!

After giving personalized bracelets for Maxi & her mom posed for pictures and met Doug , I continued to browse through this wonderfully laid out store. But no record of a sale and no gift receipt. Did buy something else, but guess what. They didn't ask my name, email or phone number. Learned that this is how they track purchases, so I immediately returned my items so that they could be purchased with a record of the sale. And when I asked the sales person why she didn't ask for my information, her response? Oops, I forgot to ask. Maybe that's what happened when my friend bought a gift for me.

Parking is somewhat limited. Shop is on a shopping strip shared with UPS store and optometrist. I've been fortunate to get parking on my visits. But you can park around in the Rice Village area and make a day of it to walk around and dine and shop. The place is cozy and it feels like you're in someone's home with all the collectibles, groceries, tea sets and decor. You can find everything from tea, trinkets, sweets and fine tea sets to Guinness and Manchester United collectibles. If you love Paddington, you'll find a nice selection of official Paddington items too. The staff is friendly, and helpful. Even though I have never been to England, the shop is reminiscent to what I've seen on tv and hopefully I get my self to experience it someday soon. Until then, I'll continue to enjoy the delights that British Isles provides me with.

My friend and I booked an Ikebana class online through their website and had such an amazing experience. This was our first time doing Ikebana, and while it was definitely challenging to balance and arrange the flowers, the workers and owners were all so helpful and fun throughout the process. The inside of the store is super vibey (there's also a pottery and coffee shop surrounding Tadaima), and I loved everything about the décor and setup. Speaking of the owners and workers, everyone here was incredibly kind and welcoming. My heart was so full when I was able to speak Japanese with the owners; it's not every day that I get to speak my mother tongue with someone who isn't a family member! There isn't much parking directly in front of the store, but there is plenty of street parking on E 8 1/2 Street. If you're looking for something fun to do in the Houston area, definitely check out Tadaima! For events, be sure to look at their website to learn more about their jazz nights, Japanese vinyl nights, and more. And if you have extra time, check out their sister store, Onli, located on Providence Street (just 10 minutes away from Tadaima)!
