Everything that we tasted was delicious. goat cheese and duxelles on toast, shrimp cocktail, chicken piccata, beef tenderloin, pasta with green peas and dill, green beans, mashed potatoes and wine. The chef who prepared the food brought it out and explained it all to us. Very impressive. The menu has a large variety of choices. If you are planning a wedding, the space includes a chapel, bride and groom dressing areas and a lounge upstairs. It is a very cool space. The people were super nice and explained everything to us. My spouse and I were craving brunch one day (actually, we crave brunch everyday), so I started doing what I normally do, scroll through Yelp. Seed Sprout Spoon came up, and I looked more into it and realized it was only open on Sundays from 9am-2pm. Wait... it is Sunday and it's before 2pm! We can make it! We arrived around noon and the restaurant was quite busy. We ended up sharing a table a few other people, but that didn't bother me. I ordered the Egg in a Hole B.L.T., and my spouse had the quiche. It took quite awhile for our food to come, probably because it was really busy, but when it did, it was well worth the wait! The Egg in a Hole B.L.T. didn't just come with a fried egg. There's a egg IN THE BREAD! On both pieces! That's next level right there. I loved the brioche bread from Companion, with thick tomato slices, Patchwork bacon, and herb mayo. We had our wedding in the Missouri Botanical Gardens in September through Catering St. Louis (the…read moreonly way you can reserve an area in the botanical gardens). We regret this decision. The wedding itself was beautiful but the entire planning process and getting Catering St Louis to actually work with us was a NIGHTMARE. First of all, it's a full non-refundable deposit that you must supply to hold your spot. This is also rain or shine, no refunds. We knew this and accepted this, but then (after we paid) they sent the full package with other restrictions we were not expected. No signs, no glasses or anything breakable. The seats that day will be set up for the largest group of the day, so if you have a small guest list compared to the other weddings occurring that day, too bad. You have to pay an additional $300 for a golf cart if you want help transporting people to the wedding site (NOTE: this only applies to the wedding party! They don't want you to use it for all your guests). Additionally, if this golf cart breaks down, too bad, they only have one, there goes your money. For a $3000 non-refundable deposit, you think they would provide reserved parking for at least the Bride and Groom. NOPE. When we met with Catering St. Louis representative, she assured us since it was a wedding earlier in the day, that we would find parking, but nothing was reserved. When I arrived with my parents in my dress, there was NO parking. My dad had to drop us off, park somewhere a mile away, and then RUN to the ceremony site. This was absurd. We talked with the folks at the botanical gardens themselves after this, and they said they would have supplied us with reserved parking if Catering St. Louis would have talked to them. ALSO, the people with Catering St. Louis refused to meet and work with us/answer questions until a month before the wedding!!! It was incredibly frustrating not knowing what was going on and what else we had to do. The only support we actually got from them was the ONE meeting with the Catering St. Louis representative less than a month before the wedding (which wasn't even in the botanical gardens, they met us in a cafe), and during the rehearsal. We got an hour for our rehearsal time and that process was smooth, but nothing was set up, and there was no way to hook our music up and to coordinate that. During the day of, the rehearsal coordinator gave us our ques to walk and then left. We would NOT recommend having your wedding at the Botanical Gardens through Catering St. Louis. We are SO glad we didn't use them for our reception.

She responded promptly to my request for a proposal and initial questions. Her pricing is fair and very easy to understand; there were no surprises at the end. The planning process for the event was smooth and she had great suggestions for the courses, on which we worked together to create a customized menu that also took into account dietary restrictions. On the day of the event she arrived on time and brought her own supplies as agreed. She set up the cooking area efficiently and in a relaxed manner that was not rushed whatsoever. She spread out the courses beautifully and none of the guests felt hurried or overwhelmed. As each course was served she got everyone's attention and described the dish, which was a nice touch! At the end of the evening she cleaned up and left the kitchen area spotless, departing in the timeframe she indicated in her proposal. Finally, and most importantly, the food was excellent. We had two hors d'oeuvres and a frisee salad that were on her regular menu list of selections and she crafted an off-list duck a l'orange that was as good as you'll find at a traditional French restaurant. The event manager, Tyler, would go unresponsive for weeks at a time, but didn't set an out-of-office message. Also, he sent the license and insurance the day before the wedding. These two factors added a lot of stress during our planning process. Worse, the food was cold, which made it unappetizing, especially for brunch. I couldn't finish my plate. We also paid extra for raspberry filling on our cake, but there was barely any. The little amount was overshadowed by the buttercream that tasted like plain butter. Unfortunately, the poor communication and cold food overshadowed what could have been a great experience.
