Bravo! A must! After two visits to Michelin star restaurants in Rome, Grazia & Graziella blew doors on them, despite not having a star herself. I can say without a doubt Grazia & Graziella deserve a Michelin star far more than the actual Michelin star restaurants I've been to in Rome. Make sure to get the focaccia! Absolutely splendid. The servers are a league of their own, the best we've had in our trip so far. And the restaurant itself is so quaint and beautiful, tucked away in a corner of Rome. Bravo bravo bravo! If you're looking for nightlife, then the trastevere neighborhood is definitely the neighborhood for you. Friday night. This neighborhood was so jumpin, it made Vatican City look downright asleep. Ever been to North Beach for dinner during opening day of fleet week? That's what this scene reminded me of. No sailors, but the same vibe. And if you do find yourself in this neighborhood, you gotta come here. Grazia & Graziella is an institution. A little bit rustic, a lot of Italian. Service with a smile, despite being crazy busy. I just knew immediately that my dream of eating pasta in Italy at an authentic & neighborhood restaurant had to become a reality here. They sat us immediately, but it was late. 10-ish. Dinner in Rome at 10...romantic right? SO romantic! Sitting outside, in candlelight, in a charming restaurant...it's a win, win, win. It really doesn't matter if the food is less than mind-blowing. This place was not bad. There were tons of other places around, but this has good Yelp reviews and we didn't have WiFi to check for other places. They have standard tourist fare and it gave me a chance to try lasagna for the first time in Italy. I also had Moscato, which was delicious!! My husband and our aunt got a ravioli pasta dish which was fine and we got a fried artichoke (which may have been frozen as the season for them just passed). We were seated inside, which we thought we'd prefer over the bugs outside, but it ended up being super loud (mainly one waitress) even though we were the only customers inside. Interior had an interesting feel. There was a bar and random old items like a bike and funky pieces of art around. The place was fine. Nothing bad to say. This was another great meal in Rome. It was a simple walk from our apartment in Trastevere and along the way you'll see many other restaurants but keep walking. It was a kinda rainy night but we sat outside anyway as it was warm. Welcoming service but either make reservations or get there before 7:00. It gets really, really busy starting then. There were 4 of us and they were very accommodating to our 8year old granddaughter. Nicola and Daniele were wonderful and guided us through our meal. House made pizza with sausage, some of the best raviolis I've ever had in a sage butter sauce, house made pasta with red sauce no meat for our vegetarian guest and focaccia! Good wine list as well. Reasonable prices for both food and wine. This might appear as a tourist place at first, but it isn't . Even though they were playing American music in the background. 75% of the folks dining were Italians. Authentic Italian-Roman cuisine with fine service. I think it's safe to say this was my favorite dinner on this trip so far. It was a place I had bookmarked a while back and I'm so glad I did. Our hotel is in the Trastevere area which this restaurant is located - an area filled with great restaurants and bars. Walking up to the restaurant, the host was so friendly and offered us a glass of prosecco. I was anticipating a long wait for a table but we haven't experienced that anywhere. Probably because this trip was not during peak season for tourists in Rome. Anyway, we got a table inside but then it was a bit warm for us so we moved to table outside. We both ordered some Aperol Spritz and they were definitely what I needed after a long day of doing touristy things - like pretending to be a gladiator at the Colosseum and roaming around the Roman Forum. Not sure why there were 2 full-sized straws in the drink but I guess it helped it go down faster. We started our meal with caprese and the presentation was executed well as you can see in my photo. For our main courses, I went with the Carbonara and Brian went with the Amatriciana. Mine was delicious! Brian's was really good too but I definitely liked mine more. Of course, I had to order tiramisu. It was really yummy but not what I had expected. Instead of ladyfingers, some sort of crackers were used. It was still really good and we ate it all. Okay, we didn't eat it all - I did. Service was amazing. Brian didn't eat much of his plate and we had 3 people stop and ask if he was alright and if he didn't like his meal. He just didn't have much of an appetite after a few hours of knocking out emails and calls for work. They offered to get him something else and the host gave us some lollipops to cheer him up. They were so concerned so we just kept reassuring them that it wasn't them or the food and it was just Brian. At the end of the meal, they gave us shots of a digestif. If you want to try Tonarello, you oughta try this one because it is owned by the same owners - Will not disappoint! So glad we were able to try this place out for dinner on one of our nights in Rome. We were lucky that we stayed in the Romo Forno neighborhood which is a walking distance away to Trastevere where this restaurant is located. Our hotel staff recommend we try Tonarello which is another restaurant in Trastevere that is located literally in front of Grazie Graziela, but Tonarello always has such a long wait line. GG does too and because of that, we tried to eat at both restaurants for two nights, and were finally able to get a table at GG on a late Sunday night at 10:30 PM. I loved our food! My husband got the lasagna and I got the sliced beef dish with potatoes.. It was a nice change up after having had pasta for days. The lasagna was amazing but the highlight of our meal has got to be the dessert, which was tiramisu. It was soft, fluffy and flavorful. So good! read more

Next time I'm in Rome I will stay in this neighborhood: Trastevere. This is where the locals are at, the food, the drinks, the maze-like neighborhood where getting lost is not a bad thing. Back to the review of this restaurant, this is the real deal. You will notice the difference between here and the restaurants in the touristy section. I highly recommend the Saltimbocca which I was told translates to: jumps in your mouth. After glancing at this dish full of veal, bacon, and mashed potatoes/gravy extravaganza isn't hard to see why the name. We also had the gnocchi w/ clams which were very rich in flavor and I almost forgot that we started this dinner with crunchy fried Roman artichoke. The line might be lengthy but it's worth the wait, especially when, on occasion you are given small cups of wine while you wait in line (helped quench the thirst and calm the nerves). read more

First day getting into Rome and immediately looked for a place with good reviews on Yelp- this was the first one I saw with a good amount of reviews. Note, the street close to the resteraunt is a little too narrow for cars so usually your taxi driver will have you walk the short 1 to 2 minute walk to the resteraunt. There was a line, but we were willing to wait. As we waited one of the resteraunt staff came by offering people free mini glasses of Prosecco (we of course said yes!) and surprisingly the line moved pretty quickly. The severs were friendly and the food was fast. We planned on taking some of the pasta home but that did not happen- it was that good! I highly recommend this as a must go to restaurant. We will absolutely be coming here at least one more time before we head home! read more

Let's me start off by saying that the staff here is wonderful. Whoever, owns this restaurant should applaud his staff for the excellent hospitality they give. The staff was warm, inviting, and genuinely happy to see us from start to finish. Grazia e Graziella is located right across from Tonnarello. Similar setup with indoor and outdoor seating. As always for the Trastevere area, I recommend arriving for lunch early around 12-1230pm. For food we went with the Bruschetas for the appetizer, Pasta Amatriciana, and Pasta Carbonara. Overall the food was good, however the pasta here was Rigatoni not spaghetti. I think that if the pasta was Spaghetti or handmade noodles, it would've been much better. This was honestly the best restaurant i visited during my time in Rome. The locations couldn't be more perfect. It was located in Trastevere (a cute little hipster town in Rome) with sitting outside and inside. The staff was super sweet and as soon as we arrived they sat us right away-outside of course because that was our preference. For starter we asked for bread and let me tell you it was the best bread i ever had in my entire life (not even kidding), we had to order 2 orders of bread because it was just that delicious and warm. The pastas we ordered were to die for. I am not kidding when i say this was honestly the best food i had in my time in Rome. To top it off everything was super cheap. Rome can be super expensive compare to other cities in Italy. However, the prices here were so reasonable. If you are looking for a great place to eat i recommend this 100%. Grazia & Graziella was an excellent option on a busy evening in the winter time. When every other restaurant in this lively neighborhood had a line out the door, so did G & G. They did however have their patio open which we were sat at right away. Between the blazing heaters, and the complimentary hot wine they served, the cold weather was a non issue. The food was very solid. We did a lasagna and the caprisiosa pizza both of which were nice sized portions and pretty affordable at under 10 Euro for each. If we hadn't eaten all the fried calamari as an appetizer, we probably would have finished everything, but they were really nice about wrapping it up for us anyways. There's a lot of great options in the Trestevere neighborhood, but I definitely wouldn't be disappointed if I ended up here again at some point in the future. read more

Great Atmosphere on a quiet corner, this restaurant is loud both inside and out. The food was good and had plenty of options to choose from. Portion sizes were good. The wine selection was on the small side, but had a good choice of regional wines to choose from. The Focaccia was awesome, Diavola Pizza great and the Tiramisu fantastic. We just got in from the US and we're tired and hungry. We came here as a recommendation. We met with friends who have been touring Italy. The place has an outside dining, as it should be, as the inside was also packed. There is a lower level for dining which is perfect for big groups as it gives you a little bit of privacy. The ambience can be romantic, if not packed. We ordered salmon salad, amatriciana and grilled lamb (for my dad who's not into pizza and pasta) for sharing. They didn't mind that they had to serve the food family style. They even offered us extra plates. The food was generous and tasty. My dad even enjoyed the pasta. We stopped by here due to the location in the gorgeous neighborhood of Trastevere and the food appeared appealing. While we waited for a table even at 9 pm at night they served us some prosecco while waiting. We were only planning for "a late snack" after supper. After we were seated the service however was down hill and we had to flag her down for everything I didn't expect such a tourist place to be authentic and it wasn't but it still was pretty good. Roman style thin pizza from a brick oven was very well done with fresh ingredients. Lasagna was made with fresh pasta and had tasty bolognese sauce. We waited over 15 mins for a check and I went to the counter to pay. They were at least pleasant about it . It is a bit touristy but that sure doesn't take away from the good, quality food and service. Their cabonara was good but the favorite was the cacio e pepe. It was my favorite cacio e pepe that I ate in Rome. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and I found myself in awe with how this simple dish can taste so amazing. We recently found ourselves looking for dinner in the Trastevere area of Rome and Yelp provided the perfect recommendation in Grazia & Graziella - maybe one of the highlights of our trip! It was a warm Saturday night so there was a long line outside. Servers handed out a small glass of prosecco to sip on while waiting. Of course if you wanted to eat right away you could go inside as it was the patio that was busy. Service was fantastic (helped of course that their English was good). I had the ravioli ricotta. It tasted delicious with homemade noodles. My wife had the caprese salad which she said was good as well (although a bit busy with some lettuce around it). On the final night during a business trip to Rome I was looking for some late night Friday eats and people watching. I was originally afraid that it would be touristy but even at 1am it was packed with locals so I decided to give it a try. The seating is a little tight but people were acomodating and no one seemed to mind my bad Italian as I said "Sucasmi!" and squeezed by. The service is friendly and the food exceeded my expectations. They have a menu in English if you're not familiar with the language (like me!). I got the "Thre Bruschettas" which were topped with: tomatoes, parma ham and buffalo mozarella, and gorgonzola and walnuts. The bread was fresh, flavorful and toasted with a nice, crunchy crust. In the center there were some olives and garnishing cabbage. For my main course I had the Ravioli Ricotta (with butter and sage) with a touch of oil sprinkled on top. Deeeeeeelicious! The service pace was leisurely and I had enough time to enjoy two Peroni Gran Rizervas along the way. Grand total was only $32 USD! During all of this there were very stylish people all around enjoying the warm evening. It all felt very european and relaxed, and I had a thoroughly memorable time. A walk home along the beautiful streets of Trastevere sealed the deal. I'm in love with Italy! read more

Great service, food was ok I stopped by this place on my last afternoon in Rome, forgoing my usual rule to not eat in main tourist areas, because I wanted a little people watching. I started with the fried artichoke which was quite good and then had the carbonara. I've had way better. It was too salty and the pasta was drenched in sauce. A little less would have been better. The tiramisu was interesting. A deconstructed version of the traditional served in a small coffee cup with the cookie in the center surrounded by the cream which tasted more custard like than light. Grazia and Graziella has the best pasta you will find in a Rome. Pasta carbonara was incredible. Rich, fresh bacon, huge portion and super filling. The cheese spinach ravioli with sage was one of my favorite Italian meals of the week. This was a huge dish even by American standards. It was cheap too. €9-€9.50 for pastas and pizzas. Get there early and expect to wait in line. Be aware that there are separate lines one for parties of one or 2 persons and the other one for larger parties. Lines move quickly and the place is deceiving in size. There are lots of small room along with upstairs, downstairs and patio. This is a great place in Trestavere. Love it!! read more

They seat tables not by available tables, but in order to balance the workload for the kitchen and wait staff, so you may wait 30 minutes and walk in to find lots of empty seats. Fun if crowded and touristy place in the heart of Trastevere. Help staff are very friendly and our waiter mugged for a picture for us. Menu is not large but typical Roman / Italian cusine was quite good. We ate here twice, for dinner and for lunch. If you are tired of pasta and want a lighter lunch, try the salad with smoked salmon - there was a lot of salmon and the combination with the grana was delicious. The artichoke a la giudea (listed as a Roman artichoke) is also excellent here. Veal portion was large, though it was not so special. Very good saltimbocca. After arriving in the neighborhood around 10:30 p.m., I can't tell you how nice it was to sit down and finally eat after a hot shower and 16 hours worth of travel. Walter recommended the carbonara and we split a bottle of merlot and we had the foccacia as well, best 32ish dollars that I have ever spent! Walter was super friendly, patient, and funny! That being said, maybe I'm not use to real "Italian" food. Most of the flavors seem very simplified and mono-toned. I still think the commercialized Maggiano's in the US, tastes better. A hotspot for tourists- and for good reason. Grazia & Graziella has a great patio atmosphere, decent food, and exceptional service! The hostess outside is so friendly, and offers samples of prosecco and bruschetta while you wait for a table. Everyone working there had a smile and was always willing to help and answer your questions. For appetizers, we ordered the fried artichoke, calamari, and caprese with buffalo mozzarella. The artichoke and calamari were pretty standard, but the caprese was one of the best I've had!! The buffalo mozzarella was so soft and you could literally squeeze the milk out of it. For main course, we tried the veal, pasta with clams, and pizza with sausage, potatoes and rosemary. The veal and pasta were okay but nothing to write home about. The pizza was really good, especially if you love rosemary like I do! Definitely save room for dessert. The tiramisu is one of their most popular items, and one of the best I've tried.
