My 9yr old son just had a haircut at this location by Tiffani and talked the whole car ride home about how nice she was and what a good job she did. He liked that she took the time to explain that some styling product will be needed for the style, etc. He was insistent that I leave a good review on "Etsy or Reddit or something". The haircut he got previously at the Great Clips Meijer location did not thrill me. Tiffani looked at the notes and went over it with me on what needed to be changed. ODD vibe overall here suddenly! In November and early December all seemed normal. Seemingly there are nearly all new employees at this Maple Village location for 2020. They have a hiring sign up too. There's a sour woman (no name tag or apron) stalking /observing certain stylists-- she could've handled this much better whatever her role (0 stars). She also seemed to gawk at customers at times-- unprofessional. Too bad for the stylists trying to make a living here. We've been coming here for years and had a favorite stylist (now at SALINE GC near Walmart I've heard), but we occasionally used other stylists here with good results too. The haircut received today from a new male stylist was good (5 stars), but I'm not sure if we'll return due to the WEIRD atmosphere. (Definitely use online check in at any great clips). read more

Great Clips is good for those who know what they want. ie, can you describe your cut? For girls, it's gonna be hard to recommend this place because they're so much variability in what women are looking for in their cut. My hair grows freakishly fast so I need a trim every month. I ask for a 1 inch trim with small wispy subtle layers in the back. Face framing angle in the front. Ladies, monthly maintenance get expensive right? Sometimes you want to look and feel fabulous after a haircut.. and sometimes you just need a routine trim. Great Clips is great for a standard cut. For guys, this is a good place because most likely, you're looking for a simple cut. For kids, this is place makes sense. Remember, you get what you're paying for. If you're the type who says, "make me look fabulous", please don't go to Great Clips. Stylists here aren't paid much from the corporation, so they tend to tend to cut hair conservatively, meaning longer and more tame than what you ask for. Hey, you can always go shorter or wilder but not the other way around. If you shop at Kroger, their receipts automatically print $9 coupons. A haircut for this price is kind of unbelievable.. but please heed my warning about getting what you pay for. read more

The pros: online check-in. Cheap rates ($12 hair cuts for men). Friendly staff. It's very close to Plum Market and right off the highway (I-94). The cons: the quality of the cut varies radically depending on the person cutting it. The online check-in tool doesn't really give you an accurate timeframe re: wait time (it'll wildly overshoot or massively undershoot). My Girlfriend went here to get a haircut yesterday, and was greeted by a girl who said she would pull up her personal profile notes which had specific instructions that had been followed and entered by the previous stylist and she looked great that time. The girl repeatedly told her she was following the instructions in the notes, and since my girlfriend has very bad vision and has to remove her glasses to get her hair cut, she did not notice the girl butchering her hair. She is so upset she has not removed her hat in a day and stayed up crying until 3am about how the haircut was going to ruin her. These people do not know how to follow instructions even when they write them. If you are looking for a haircut, forget this place, you would be better off shaving your head with a weedwhacker than asking them for any haircut. EVER!!! read more

I stopped in for a shampoo/blowdry. They said it would be half hour,I came back half an hour and was ignored for 20 min. Finally someone says oh are you waiting yes I am. I have well water at home so its a nice treat to get my hair shampooed and blowdried in city water..also I have been there once before shampoo/blowdry $5.00. Great.. so the girl washes my hair and then starts to dry it with a brush. said oh you can just use your hands my hair behaves better without a brush,,well she continued to section it off and blowdry with a round brush..ok I'll let her continue....long story short..I go to cash out ,thinking I will tip her $5.00 and she says that will be $40.00!! What!! I didnt even get a trim..she says .oh you got a fashion blowout...a what!! I said if you would have told me that in the beginning I would have said just use your hands ,skip the brush..a fashion blowout..lol..what a joke..she called her manager and said her manager will not budge its $40.00 I said I was expecting to pay $5.00 and tip you $5.00. I found Michelle to be the most talentless person to manipulate my hair in 50 years. All her experience must've been in some prison system barber shop! After asking for 2" to be left she gave me the same bowl top and shaved sides as the other guy sitting in the other seat. I almost said NOT to cut my hair like that guy but thought he asked for that cut special. It is apparently the main style of cut performed. Great haircut and experience came in late and was seen right away by the manager Sara. She was great and so was the haircut. On top of that they had crew products for men on sale for $10.99. She gave me coupons and was very nice. I will be going back in the future for a haircut! Highly recommend this location and Sara runs a great shop! read more
