If you are looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and talented stylist, look no further! Debbie is all those things and more. Due to medical struggles and challenges, I have been experiencing extreme hair loss since spring of last year. She has offered so many tips and ticks each time I see her to help slow down my hair loss and work towards regaining health for my hair. I understand that stylists typically recommend in store products which they in turn receive a sales compensation, but that has not been the case with Debbie. Her recommendation were ones that I can do at home with products I already have. She has also offered suggestions on how I can wear my hair up & style it without causing additional damage. She truly is very knowledgeable about how one's health and experienced surgeries can impact hair health. I faithfully will only see Debbie as long as she is available and able! I am so very thankful to her for her kindness, sensitivity to my experiences, assistance, and understanding. read more

Highly recommend! My two year old son has sensory issues and we haven't been able to get him a haircut. You would never believe that statement if you'd seen us earlier today with Maggie. I was honestly prepared to just leave, but no, Maggie welcomed us so sweetly and offered to cut his hair with just scissors. It's so neat, she chopped off so much hair, and it looks fantastic. Well I decided after giving a bad review of this place a few months ago about their app process that I would adapt and go with the flow. I did that on my last haircut and everything went very well with using the app and with the stylist. I used the app again today and everything was perfect until the stylist starting cutting my hair. I told the stylist that it's been a while. She said I was there 6 weeks ago then said my hair must grow very fast. I didn't know what she meant. She asked if I wanted skin on the bottom middle or high. I told her "I wanted a trim", the same way as last time with the taper to the bottom. Since I normally have a very close taper on the bottom, I thought that was what she meant. She proceeded to give me a high and tight with nothing but skin for the first 1.5 inches above my ear. When I saw what she had done, I was shocked and told her to stop, that what she had done was unacceptable. My voice was probably a little elevated at this time, understandably. She began to tell me that she was doing exactly what I told her to do. I told her I wanted a trim. She was going by only her interpretation of what she read which was so far from what my hair looked like it's ridiculous. My hair was about 6 inches long on top when I went in. For someone who is supposed to be a professional stylist to not question what she was reading versus the length based on 6 weeks of growth and my request for a trim is unprofessional. Granted, I was upset, but only raised my voice after she did. I have never been literally yelled at by someone providing a service to me. Yet I was the one told to lower my voice. I didn't want her to continue and I was told to get out or her chair and I would have to wait for another stylist. Heather, the new manager took over about 10 minutes later and did a good job of fixing the disaster as good as possible. I wasn't charged for the haircut, but based on this fiasco should have been given 10 haircuts free. Heather said she would pass my info to the owner. We'll see what happens. As for Maggie, this girl should not be allowed to be in a customer facing position let alone cut hair until she knows how to better clarify the customer needs. I've been in some bad customer service experiences before but this is the absolute worst. As a side note, I ran a 250 million dollar customer service business with a customer sat score of 9.8. I think I know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying to not go to this store (I won't) but when you sit down, if the stylist says her name is Maggie, get out of the chair. Be warned! read more

As a military member, I end up getting a haircut every 7-10 days. I tried a local barber shop but didn't like the inconsistency in quality. On base, they were a little better but again inconsistencies in how they fade was irritating. I went ahead and tried Great Clips in Cape Carteret. For starters they offer a generous military discount for cuts - 10 bucks/cut which is comparable to barbers on base. But after getting about 2 months of weekly cuts for myself and my son I can say that the stylists at Great Clips have provided the best consistency across 5-6 stylists that we have used. Their customer service is also great and the shop is run efficiently. Complements to the management team as I can appreciate how all stylists provide great work, enjoy their job, and have treated my son and I with courtesy and professionalism. Keep it up. read more

Good for basic cut and trim. Very friendly and professional never had a long wait with being a walk in.

Its ok as long as you don't get the big lady with pink/ purple hair. She didn't listen to me at all and cut it how she wanted to. I told her to keep it at eyebrow length in the front and she proceeded to cut it and inch and a half above my eyebrows. I have a pretty big forehead so now I look stupid. She figured out I didn't like it when she saw she didn't get a tip. Then she offered me a coupon in a high pitched "im sorry" voice. The other workers that have cut my hair have done a good job but she was just terrible. I'd recommend that if she's the one that's going to cut your hair that you decline and wait for another seat to open. read more

If your looking for a salon where the stylists(if you want to call them that)act like they're listening to you and acknowledging what it is you are wanting, and saying they can do it and they understand, DONT GO HERE!!! We even had pictures! My 17 year old son already had a cut that was pretty much the same cut as was in the picture, he just needed it to be trimmed and cleaned up and it feathered/tapered from the back to his bangs, so that it all blended. His bangs were 3-4 inches and needed to be trimmed, TRIMMED, he now has a "high and tight"military cut that's as uneven as it gets with a HUGE gash on one side where his scalp can be seen, and it's now about 1 inch long, everywhere...the absolute WORST hair cut I've ever seen on anyone!! I guess Great Clips will hire anyone...I don't know how this woman even graduated from cosmetology school? Of course, when she saw my face when he walked around the corner, she tried to justify why it was cut so short and completely nothing like the picture or what we had discussed by saying that "now it's all even, so in a couple weeks it'll be grown out to where it can be done like the picture!" UMMMM....NO!!! It wasn't all one length, I had to send her back to trim up a big section that was visibly longer than the rest! Just horrible! I'm appalled by the lack of skill, lack of listening to what the client wants, and lack of, well EVERYTHING!! My son is so upset about it that he doesn't want to go to his prom in less than 2 weeks because this lady botched and scalped his head.... read more

Not so great. Girls are loud and obnoxious. They laugh and make fun of customers. Several of the stylist had a strong odor of marijuana.

Avoid today! Stylist didn't listen and was more interested in telling me what she knew. When trying to explain what I wanted it was more of the same. Sitting at another barbershop now to fix the damage. Normally this is my barber of choice but a bad experience today read more
