Truthfully I have no idea…read morehow long they've been there, but a recent wedding brought me to them as the bridal party decided to have our hair and nails styled here before the big event. The salon is lovely and all the ladies were super nice. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming with fall decorations on the walls, a great view of the park, and plenty of decorations. A plethora of product was available for purchase and Bonnie walked us through what she how she intended to style our hair. I will admit that initially I thought that the hair spray was applied perhaps too judiciously, but Bonnie knew exactly what she was doing because by the time the wedding rolled around our hair was still staying in place, but also moved naturally. It wasn't until twelve hours later that my hair began to lose the curls that Bonnie placed so meticulously. I had many compliments on my hair and Bonnie did a fantastic job. Our nails were equally done wonderful. It was a well oiled machine where when one of us had our hair done we moved on to get our nails done. Everyone was very happy with the end results and thought that the whole thing went very well. It was a wonderful start to the day.

My two younger sisters went with me to Hairtique (which is near where one sister lives) to see Amanda (who is a friend of the other sister) and she did a fantastic job! What a relief! At other salons, a lot of stylists have struggled with my hair, especially after drying it, when it starts to puff up and wave in unexpected ways. They usually just hand me the hair drier and ask me to dry it like I do at home but, lacking my own tools and product, I really can't. So, in the past, I've always ended up leaving feeling slightly embarrassed about my hair and eager to get home and fix it. At Hairtique, it was a different story! :D While drying my hair, Amanda paused, saw the problem and addressed it skillfully, wrangling my unruly hair into beautiful shape. She knew exactly what to do! THIS time around, I walked out of the salon feeling fantastic and LOVING my hair. I am SO impressed! Needless to say, I am coming back, not only for the wedding prep but for future haircuts. It's almost an hour drive for me but an outstanding haircut is worth the trip! Oh, and the price was fantastic too! The haircut and wash were very reasonable and I left with amazing hair. The products they sell are high-end, professional products and a bit higher than the some drug store brands but it's really great stuff. I bought some hair oil on my way out and I love it. My daughter found a picture of exactly how she wanted her hair to look. Before the appointment, the stylist looked at the photo and told us she could achieve it. We were quoted $210-$260, which I thought was expensive, but it was my daughter's money, and she agreed to pay it because she expected to receive what she asked for. My daughter's natural hair color is a light auburn, and she specifically told the stylist that she hated that color and wanted something completely different. She wanted cool-toned, dimensional highlights like the inspiration photo. Instead, she walked out with hair that looks very similar to the natural color she specifically said she couldn't stand. I want to make it clear that this isn't about saying her hair is ugly. My daughter is beautiful no matter what. The issue is that it isn't what she asked or paid for. During the appointment, my daughter told the stylist she didn't like the direction it was going. I also asked the stylist to stop putting more color and product in her hair, but she continued anyway. To make matters worse, we paid a $75 deposit before the appointment. That deposit was supposed to be deducted from the final bill, but it wasn't. Instead, we paid $237 at the salon, and now they're trying to claim the service should have been $310 by adding the $75 deposit on top of the $237 already paid. That's not how deposits work. A deposit is supposed to be credited toward the final cost, not added to it after you've already paid. This isn't about trying to get something for free. We were fully prepared to pay the agreed price for the service my daughter requested. It's about paying hundreds of dollars for a result that doesn't resemble the inspiration photo, having our concerns ignored during the appointment, and then being charged in a way that doesn't match what we were quoted. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. You can compare the inspiration photo to the final result and decide whether they match.
