Advertised hours say they close at 5pm. Checked in on the app at 3pm; said there were 8 people ahead of us. We arrived at 3:21 and the door was locked. The SUPER rude employee barely cracked open the door and informed us that she had already closed the register and they were closed. Showed her the app and she just shook her head and closed the door on us. Looking at other reviews, this is common. Terrible! read more

Yikes. Was told the wait would be 37 min....came in to check after 42 min (had not received a call nor a text). The receptionist checked with a stylist who said she was on break, but then agreed to do it when I said the cut was for my daughter. The cut consisted of a brief comb and 2" trim across. Clearly she did not check her work. I definitely should've given it a more thorough look over before we left because now I'm seeing just how bad the cut is. Would've been better if I had saved myself the time and $17 and had done it myself! read more

I'm a regular at Great Clips for the last 5 years. It's always easy to register online and avoid any kid of wait, but this was definitely my worst experience. I am in town for the holidays and wanted to get a trim for family photos. The results of my haircut can be seen in the photos. My neck is still hurting hours after the cut and the barber clearly didn't know what she's doing. I had to go to another barber to get my hair fixed. read more

Absolute worst Great Clips and worst customer service on earth. Booked through the app, which both that and online said closes at 6pm. However, I get there and they said they close at 4:30pm. I called corporate, they have it listed at 6pm. I'm still checked in on the app at 5:07pm. Their own door does not say 4:30 pm, nor 5pm nor any other time outside of 6pm. read more

Checked in online and showed up at 4:15! Wait time said 8minutes. They came to the door and told me they were closing and didnt turn off the online check in. They don't close until 5pm but I heard one of the stylist leaving saying she was glad they were taking off early today. read more

Despite using the GC app to get on a 0 min waitlist, and arriving in less than 5min later and still 20 min before stated 5pm closing, the store was empty of customers and the stylist had already locked up! - She shrugged and counted out her register. The cuts weren't great over 5+ years as a local, but they were convenient, despite being more than $5 higher than most Great Clips when I travel. I'm done now: Transient stylists who are inconsistent in their cuts, higher than typical prices, and short can't be trusted hours, even on the app. read more

I had my hair cut by a female stylist I went in with the intent of taking one inch off, using the "point" cut technique so that I did not end up with a "blunt" Cut. - Did not section off my hair AT ALL, therefore causing her to and miss a huge chunk/section of the backside. -did not dry my Hair so that SHE could ensure That all pieces and sections were even. - did not give me a mirror to look at the back, so I did not know my hair was very uneven. -did not take her time; my hair cut lasted about 5 Minutes when it typically takes 20. - it was obvious that she did not plan each cut that she took..she just went in and started chopping very loosely-taking very Random sections. This was the most uncomfortable part. I had to go back and have my hair fixed by a Katie the same day after I called And complained . She was very kind and apologetic and made the effort to correct. I think my Hair is OK now?...???? I'll probably never return here...I don't even live in the area so it doesn't matter but it was a shame because I was looking forward to my first haircut after the covid shut down !! I don't know who the HECK taught this woman to cut hair. I literally felt like my hair was being cut by a total amateur. Even though I had a weird gut feeling, I still tipped her almost 29%! I am an idiot! Awful first impression. Not to worry, great clips, I already sent a message to customer service and hope they take my experience seriously. Update: customer service apologized To me and passed along the message to the salon manager. I sure hope the salon manager gives this stylist the retraining she desperately needs so they don't have more angry customers! Zero stars if possible. I entered to the business where I saw two ladies and no customers. The older of the ladies checked me in and asked what I wanted since there were no notes, as this was my first time at this Great Clips. I told her I wanted a medium fade, from skin to the top length, and the top brought down to finger length. A pretty standard military cut. She didn't know what a medium fade was, so I explained the height of the fade. I could tell from the start she wasn't very good with fades. She was very shaky, she kept getting the buzzer stuck in my ears and at one point had a no guard buzzer pressed into my ear which cut the skin, and she didn't seem very confident. She shortened the top in a fashion I am familiar with, so I didn't see any cause for concern- the hair was cut pretty consistent in length. She told me she was done, didn't let me see the back of my head, only the sides which looked okay in the lighting. I paid my $19 and $3 tip and left. When I got home my wife took a picture of the back of my head and it revealed what I should've known at the store- she didn't fade anything. She cut a line into my hair, and trimmed down, but never faded it up. So there's a portion of no hair to about a 1/8 inch of hair. Doesn't sound like much, but it looks off. You can tell there's a line in my head. Not going back for a refund or a chance to fix because I don't think she would understand the issue. Do not recommend. read more

I want to like this Great Clips because it's on the island and convenient. But the work surface and floor was covered in short black hair, which the stylist hastily swept away , but the comb she used on my hair was lying there on the table amidst the black hair. No Barbisol antiseptic or anything . It kind of felt like a third world country. And it's not cheap! The average GC price online is $14. For a haircut. This was $17. I'll drive over the bridge to Bluffton from now on. read more

Most of the hair salons on the Island are a bit pricey. For a simple hair cut, Great Clips cannot be beat. It has easy check in app or on site, clean environment, and friendly staff. This time I had Maria, she was professional and did a great job cutting my hair exactly as I requested. They even have a Senior discount price. read more

I just got back from Great Clips with a fabulous hair cut by Brooke. I've paid $40, $50, and $60 plus tip for simple straight undercut hair cuts on the island and usually had to fix something when I got home, so I figured why not give them a try. I left very happy today. Brooke had no problem cutting my stick straight hair (above shoulder length) hair into perfect layers. There was no hacking or chunkiness, just layered bliss. Using a blow dryer or curling iron will be so easy now. I will definitely be back. read more
