When you go to a chain hair cut place it's a bit of a crap shoot if you do not have a regular hair stylist that you like. Our family has been an on and off customer of Great Clips for over 10 years. During those years stylist come and go and there lies the problem of consistency. The location of the Courthouse Great Clips is a good one for lower volume of customers, so typically waits are shorter. Their online app check-in is great and I recommend. The store is well maintained and kept as clean as you can keep a salon, it not easy. The women who have cut both my hair and my sons have been above average and I have left happy. Since coming to this store around six months ago I have used several stylist. The best hands down has been Michelle. She has over a decade of experience and has been with Great Clips for around 15 years at different capacities within the company. Her expertise and attention to detail set her apart from others. Their merchandise goes from name brand to store brand. I have used both over the years and have been satisfied with the more economical choices of the store brand. Now until the end of the year you can pre pay to lock in $10.99 hair cuts, check the details at the store. This is a review for Men and Women coming to this location. Myself and my fiance, Travis, visited at the same time for a haircut to give you both perspectives honestly. Overview first: This location is easy to get to with plenty of parking, located near the Harris Teeter off of Nimmo. There is a Great Clips app where you can "check in" before you arrive, which makes the whole process even faster than the already 2 to 10 minute wait. You are greeted, multiple times, which helps all of the attendants know that there is a customer who needs to be checked in. Disclaimer - We went into this location knowing that we weren't paying more than a $6.99 (St. Paddy's Day Special). Having that knowledge, especially for women, you know ahead of time that this isn't a salon which will massage wash, be overly attentive or have superior cuts. Go into this location, with a bar of expectancy that this is a chain for quick cuts. Now... Onto the review! Cleanliness - The store was very clean and organized, each attendant sweeps the floor regularly after a cut to make sure that a new customer isn't walking through a pile of hair. A standard you would expect, but you never know. Staff - Our experience was that this location was well staffed, which kept the wait time almost to nothing. FOR MEN / BOY CUTS (Travis Review) 5 STARS Overall cut - Genuinely amazing. She (Tiffany) gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in a while. I didn't have to tell her multiple times what I wanted. This haircut exceeded a $10 haircut. Type of cut - I had a fade, with a soft part combover. The fade is in point. I watched other attendants who were cutting other men and boys hair, and all of the fades were really well cut. FOR WOMEN (Chelsea Review) - 4 Stars Overall Cut - I had my hair shortened about 3 inches, layered and textered. I had passed on a wash before hand so she (Michelle) sprayed my hair down before the cut. For me, the attendant needed a little more direction and attention. I had noticed flyaways (parts which she missed) and had to pay attention to make sure it was even. When she finished, she let me look it over for any extra cuts and was overall very polite. I was surprised that she didn't automatically include a Lotion or heat protection spray before blowing my hair out, but to be honest I'm certain that if I'd asked rather than expecting it, she would have grabbed something for me. Overall, for a basic cut, nothing stylized, it was a good cut. Timely, she wasn't overly talkative and followed my direction for what I was looking for. I'm glad I wasn't scared off - I popped in for a very quick cut. I have very simple needs for hair - a clipper up the side and back, then finger length on top. Easy and it's in the Great Clips computer where they note their customer requests. Nationwide, pretty neat. Anyway, Marisol introduced herself to me and shook my hand before leading me to a chair. She confirmed my requests and then before she started with the clippers, confirmed again the clipper number. Quick enough, I was done in less than 15 minutes and I was pleased with the cut. I've been to this location a number of times and been satisfied with the cuts until my last visit.. I received the worst haircut I've ever gotten. Called the number on the receipt to ask if they would charge me to have another stylist st the same location try to fix the problem. Was told they would have the owner contact me. Never disappointed! The staff here does an excellent job. My hair is curly and sometimes difficult to cut but everyone seems to be knowledgeable and I get just what I wanted. The salon is always clean and the girls are always friendly. I especially love the online check-in feature that adds you to the wait list before arrive so waiting isn't a problem. read more

Quite literally the worst hair cut I have ever experienced. All I asked for was a simple straight trim of about one inch. I had grown my hair out for about two years, working on getting it all one length. I took my son to Great Clips to get a cut and figured I'd trim some split ends off, thinking how wrong could a trim go. For one, the lady had me facing away from the mirror the entire time. She was speaking erratically and just gave off weird vibes. I had even paid the extra to get my hair washed so that my hair would be wet and easier to cut straight. I emphasized how I wanted to keep my hair one length. She cut my hair and sent me on my way without even drying my hair which I was annoyed about but my son was waiting so I just paid and left. I didn't notice how absolutely horrid my "hair trim" was until a day later when I showered and was styling my hair. It was uneven in the front and pieces of hair were like 3 inches shorter than the back. Then my hair went to a "V" in the back as it was left longer only in the very back middle, and the two sides were both also did not match in length, one side being shorter than the other. It honestly looked like I let my 3 year old play salon and chop my hair with scissors. I ended up having to wait 2 months for my hair to grow and unless I want my hair to my chin I have to keep waiting for it grow so I can slowly blend it back to be even again. read more

This location is rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate to young customers. They falsely told my young daughter she had lice. It was mentioned to her loudly in front of other customers. They told her to leave because they were not going to cut her hair. She left embarrassed and feeling horrible about herself. We went straight to have her combed at a wonderful salon specializing in lice and were told she only had dandruff. We were all completely relieved but only after a lot of stress and a very traumatic experience. Not only are they untrained in this area, but their customer service receives 0 stars. There is truth in the saying "you get what you pay for". However, that should not apply to courteous service. If you don't care how the girl talks to you (kristy) and all you want is a hair cut than i guess its ok. Don't expect her to go out of the way to be pleasant. I'm very upset that I went in to the store and left looking and feeling worse than I did when I walked in. First of all, she had NO personality. I would think if she wanted a decent tip she might try a bit harder? Secondly... you might want to go back to school and learn that you should at least ATTEMPT to care what the person looks like when they leave your chair. Your cut is a reflection of you. My cut said you were sloppy and lazy and didn't really want to be there. You left my hair wet and sticking to my head like a mop. Try a bit harder next time. I won't be back. I think Great Clips is okay in general but don't let Kristy cut your hair if you care at all about the way you look. read more

I've gotten my hair cut a few times here. Rhonda was great-an excellent job. However, I went in on 5/7 and was "greeted" by a very unpleasant woman who clearly had an attitude. I immediately said I would come back in when Rhonda was there. I didn't have time to make it back in when Rhonda was there so I just stopped by today (5/11) after work. Again, unpleasant greeting. Whatever, I sat down and there were three stylists and one person ahead of me. That person went and two other customers walked in who had apparently checked in online-so they took them ahead of me. Again, that's fine. However, another customer walked in and when he was checking in the stylist said "unfortunately you'll have to wait because there is one person ahead of you who didn't check in online (me)." Whatever, I ignored it. Next thing I know they ended up taking that guest before me. Done. Walked out not going back. I'd rather pay more at mosaic across the street. A little more pricey, but they clearly value their customers. read more
