While I am sad and inconvenienced by Starbucks' departure, the shopping center offers plenty. CVS, Hallmark, and The Fresh Market are among my most frequent visits. Sometimes there is confusion with other Hilltop stores at the intersection so keep in mind there is signage. The Shops at Hilltop are located on the Southeast corner off the intersection of Laskin and First Colonial. All the shops are collectively known as The Shoppes of Hilltop. However, the break it down by East and West. Customers have one access point off First Colonial and three off Laskin. If there is a drawback it's the bottleneck on the First Colonial side during rush. I have never had an issue with parking. The lot can be a bit hit or miss on debris. They do have a few security guards that patrol. I have never felt unsafe. The stores I frequent the most are Fruitive, Fresh Market, Bottlecraft, Bakers Crust, Cobalt Grille, Tino and Nectar. A few more in between as there are a lot of stores. My family enjoy the Shoppes at Hilltop and I would recommend working them in your rotation. Many are local businesses which is more reason.

I've brought family and friends here, had date nights for my birthday or anniversaries or special occasions, and come here to carb-load before running weekends. There is a Nothing Bundt Cakes here and they have the best cakes I've ever had so I always stop to get these for special occasions and they're the only cakes I want for my birthday. There is a Chico's here which now also sells Soma Intimates from their sister brand. There is also a shop right beside Chico's which exclusively sells Lily Pulitzer clothing and has some seriously gorgeous and colorful and fun clothing inside. Some of the spots have changed on and off throughout the years: a coffee shop, bridal shops (this is where I got a stunning wedding dress for my 2015 wedding). Parking is easy, there is plenty, and it's always immaculate. This is a great spot with some nice, niche shops and Aldo's is one of my favorite local restaurants. Service is always excellent and food is top notch! The only issue is the access roads off Laskin, but they're working on those and hopefully all will be better in coming years.

The Plaza is a wonderful focal point. The vision of a planned Uptown, miles from the lights and glitter of the oceanfront, was a wonderful one. From the spinach and artichoke dip to the desert, everything was so well prepared and delicious. I can't articulate enough how good everything tasted. Our server was attentive and friendly while the atmosphere of the restaurant was romantic and charming . The kids were a pain in the........., but that's neither here nor there. That night, as I satisfied my wife's amorous advancements, I could only think about the perfectly prepared Salmon and well seasoned potatoes. Later that night I had dreams about the possibilities of my next meal there. Tossing and turning, I eventually thrusted out of bed awaking myself only to be disappointed to find 4 hours remained from my next opportunity of culinary perfection. Anyway, I digress.....I highly recommend you eat here at least once. Also, if you would like an experience of 180 degrees from what I just wrote, try Katies 33.

We almost gave up on our table when our table was ready. We were all glad that we waited. Fresh bread was warm with a some sort of sweetened butter. I am guessing it was brown sugar, either way it was a hit! Our table had salmon, bronzed, which was delicious. Crab cakes were good and this compliment is coming from a group of Marylander's. Even then broccolini was excellent. Calamari was fresh and crisp, a good mix. I highly recommend the kale and quinoa salad. It was different but a nice mix of flavors with the blueberries. I added the bronzed salmon, which was flaky and tender. The clam chowder didn't come out before the meal, but our waitress caught it and still brought it out. It must have been good because it was gone quickly. No one else even got a taste. We had two kids with us and our waitress made sure that their orders were placed earlier while the adults were still trying to make selections. I was impressed that our service was excellent with such a large party. We were seated in this cute circular booth. Because this place is very popular, give yourself time to wait for a table, enjoy the bar or Neptune Patk while you pass the time. It's worth the wait!

Blue Cow Ice Cream, Rite Aid and Food Lion are among the plethora of different types of shops and eateries. All I have regularly frequented are high quality with excellent service. Others, such as Rite Aid & Food Lion provide offerings not otherwise found in this part of the Shore Drive corridor, making the shopping plaza a valuable resource for the area. The center occupies the southeast corner of the intersection of Great Neck Road & Shore Drive, directly across Shore Drive from the Delta Hotel. The entrance & exits are a bit tricky, depending on the direction one is approaching from. The traffic on Shore Drive & the lack of curb cuts on Great Neck make the entrance & exit choices something learned over time. Coming from the west on Shore Drive entrance should be from Shore Drive, after one passes through the intersection's traffic light. But exiting, if one is headed west, should be by Great Neck Road which has the advantage of a traffic light with turn lanes. The shopping center is clean, well kept & well lit, More handicapped parking spaces are needed, especially in the spaces closest to the always busy Hot Tuna. Thank you Cape Henry Plaza for providing me great dining & jewelry over the years.
