Them: "No, it's a food hall in the Packing District." Me: "You are literally making up random words to me right now and saying them."   If you've lived in Orlando for most of your life like I have, you might've thought the only thing worth your time in this neighborhood was long-time staple Fairvilla Megastore. While Fairvilla's stamina and staying power are still going strong, there's a new entry into this previously otherwise under stimulating area--gentrification. Princeton & North OBT apparently underwent an industrial chic makeover in the past few years, becoming essentially "New College Park" (CP is a few blocks east), gaining a Publix, some trendy apartments called the Cannery, and the Great Southern Box Company food hall.   The GSBC concept is honestly great--it's a collection of locally-owned restaurants arrayed around a central bar in the middle of a big hall. There's large, open seating both inside and especially outside, where there's a large astroturf lawn with lounging chairs and lawn games. My review mostly focuses on the venue as a whole, specifically the bar in the middle, but there are multiple individual small businesses and vendors within that definitely deserve their own separate, stellar reviews at a later date, as the food at these is amazing - - these include Eighty Twenty, Antica Pizzeria, Fui Yo Mexicana, A Lo Cubano, Braza Brazilian Steakhouse, Waffle Sandwich Bar, and more. The sheer amount of choices makes this place a definite recommendation even though my group's most recent experience at the middle bar wasn't as good as my last one- - the concept and overall vibe is just that good.   A group of us went on a Friday night after work (my second visit) and sat in a booth near the bar. Prices are ok, $5-7 for beers, and $10-$14 for cocktails. The drinks on this trip were "Meh." A friend had already arrived and ordered one cocktail, sharing that she'd taken a while to get noticed even though the bar was not crowded and there were many bartenders. She also said her drink was mostly mixer ("It's all juice!"). I walked over to the bar and was served right away but was told that on a Friday night they were out of all beers except for two (Smithwick and an IPA). I ordered the Smithwick, which wasn't filled to the top; I later ordered a Honey & Thyme, which turned out to be a very light pour and mostly the lemon zest mixer, same as my friend's. My other friend ordered a Tony's Spicy Rita ($14) at that point and received it in a small plastic cup, as there were no more glasses.   That said, I'd visited here a year ago and remembered that the drinks and service were great, so I don't know if this was a rare off night or indicative of a longer, more permanent slide in quality. We ordered some GREAT food from Eighty Twenty, but more on that in a separate review of that business, as it deserves its own accolades.   The inconsistency of my two experiences in the center bar (each a year apart) is the only reason I give four stars instead of five, but I really do appreciate this concept as a whole, and I very much hope this place and the businesses within succeed and continue to be around for a long time.   I'll be visiting again for sure, and hopefully the next time will be a bit closer to what I remember on my first visit. Again, the concept and overall vibe is just that good. I DO recommend that Orlando residents (especially long-time residents who are just learning for the first time that Orlando has a Packing District) check this out, as no matter what, you'll find something good for every member of your group that will make it worth your time. read more

I've been back a few times and have enjoyed the atmosphere every time. This time around I tried a few different cuisines and they were delicious and enough food if you wanted to share a plate. We actually came for the new coffee spot but they had just closed when we got there which was a bummer. We still ate and were merry. I notice that they have a calendar of events at this location and I totally understand why. It is a great event space. I'm hopeful I can go back for one of their fun nights soon. Stumbled upon this food hall on a night where they were having an 80/90's throwback night and it was a great time! Different food options available but the wings at EightyTwenty were my favorite! Honestly my biggest pet peeve was the DJ on Saturday playing at 6pm and continuously raising the volume... it was a weird vibe. At 6pm it's too loud for anyone to talk inside. At all. Great large food hall. This was my second time in and I like the space that is available for different size groups to sit as well as a parking garage right there for ample parking. I came here for the first time this past weekend for a day party and loved it! There are so many options for food and a large bar in the middle. I tried some sushi and a shawarma from two of the spots, and was blown away by how tasty both items were. The event was great, but having only one bar with a full room of party people made wait times longer than expected, but the bartenders were graceful and handled us well. There are a couple of things I really love about Great Southern Box. First of all, there is a large complimentary parking garage right next door. There is also lots of seating both inside and outside. Plus there is a huge variety of vendors (11 vendors and a cocktail bar). I was happy to see that most of the vendors offer up a different selection of food, there was some small overlap, but I am glad the food hall has lots of different options. Everything we tried was delicious! Our personal favorites were the Birria Egg Rolls from Fuiyo Mexican and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich from Eighty Twenty. My main complaint is that most of the dishes are very pricy. However, the meals all tasted good and fresh, but don't come here expecting a cheap meal. We also had issues with the text system while we were there. You give the vendor your phone number and they text you when it is ready but we only got one text and we tried four different booths, but it sounds like there was some sort of issue going on. Hopefully that is resolved quickly though! I will definitely be back and I think this is a great place to meet friends and hang out. There are about 10-12 food options to choose from and a full service bar in the middle of the building. Choices range from pizza to Cuban , sushi and Caribbean , burgers and birria Mexican ! This is such a great place to get food. So many choices and options. Beautiful space to eat indoors or outdoors. I got the thai food for me which came with spicy noodles with chicken and spring rolls and crab rangoons. I got my kids the kids meal at the burger place. I got the burger and chicken fingers. Had such a fun and tasty experience here! I made my own sushi bowl with fried shrimp. I loved that you can pick your own sauces, protein, toppings, and base. Everything was super fresh and flavorful, and the price was really reasonable for the portion size. My only complaint would be the bread. This type of bread needs a dipping gravy. My daughter had the tri tip sandwich and she said it was delicious. Another Food Hall for the West Orlando crowd. Traffic can be a challenge to get in but they have a nice parking garage with Free parking. The outside space is done very nicely. Inside there is a large selection of types of food. I ended up trying out the Eighty Twenty for their burgers. I was surprised when I ordered that they did not ask me how I wanted the burger cooked. I assumed since it was a pretty thick patty that they just make them all medium. I opted for the classic and it was good. Priced well and nothing wrong with it. Personal preference wise I felt it could have been seasoned a bit more and make cooked less to make it more moist rather than dry. The buns they were using were excellent though ! Garlic Truffle Fries were OK as well. Drinks were from the Bar and also OK. I am guessing they recently changed the drink menu as the bartender was using the menu for directions when she made the drink. So many food options- I got the sushi burrito with shrimp tempura- was really tasty, but just a little bit too fried/oily, but very big and def filling. Husband got pizza and he said it was decent and the kiddos got cheeseburgers and ate it up. 4 stars for food but 5 stars for the space! Very family friendly, with tons of games for the kiddos to play- j even saw a little soccer goal set up in a corner. Tons of green space for running around and I love how the crowd was so mixed- young people hanging and families with little one. They have an event calendar- we went during their vintage fest and they had sooo many clothing items it was fun to check it out. They have a huge bar area on one side with huge tvs that was super packed and lovely for the football game. Great Southern Box Company is a food hall in the packing district on Orange Blossom Trail. It is a large space and has its own dedicated parking garage. Upon first entering, you see the bar straight ahead with booth and table seating while the various food booths are on the perimeter of the space. There's quite a selection of vendors and cuisines - from Indian, to Chinese, to Jamaican, to Mexican, plus sushi and burgers and more! If you are going out as a group and everyone wants something different, then this food hall should work for you. We perused all the menus and then went back and placed orders at a few of the places. Each location is independently owned, as far as I could tell, but they all used the same payment system where you will receive a text message when your order is ready. That way, you can go to a table and wait or go around and buy other items. I started with a Crab Rangoon appetizer from Bangkok Style Thai Street Food. These were delicious! Big fried puffs full of savory cream cheese and crab with a sweet chili sauce. For my entree, I got the Chicken Shwarma form Kabab2go Taste of Lebanon. The chicken itself was flavorful but a little dry so the accompanying tzatziki sauce helped. I also got the garlic sauce but that wasn't as sharp/spicy as I was used to. The chicken came with a huge portion of rice, some spicy vegetables and a wonderful salad. For a drink, I couldn't decide where to go so ended up getting the mint lemonade from Kabab as well. It was just alright - a little too sour and sweet. I wish there was a Boba Tea place in the food hall as I would have gone there. My husband ordered the Bistec from A'Lo Cubano Kitchen. He found the meat to be too fatty and tough but the rice and black beans underneath were good. He also got a drink from Kabob - the mango drink - which he thought was okay. We went to Stackd Brownies at the back of the food hall to take home some items for dessert. I was surprised that all of the dessert items were $4.75 as some seemed a lot bigger, but it did make it easier to pick what to get. We got the Cherry Chip Brownie, the Brownie/Blondie, a Red Velvet cheesecake brownie and a Turtle Brownie. Everything here was great! Overall, like any food court/food hall, there will be hit or miss items. But the atmosphere was very nice and clean. I would return here to try some of the other vendors. read more

Overall, the venue is very nice and appealing. They had a sign of the events through the month of November like Martini Mondays, trivia night and live DJ nights. They have several different vendors so you have many options and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. They have their own free parking garage as well. The venue itself was pretty empty and when we first arrived the bar manager did not seem to be knowledgeable regarding the martini specials that were being advertised. Luckily, we were able to get clarity from her manager, Jaime, who honored that special. The bar manager made our first round of espresso martinis. She was nice but the drinks were made creamy without being asked and were a little over half full. The second and third round of espresso martinis were made by a different bartender, Chris. He was AMAZING! He was very friendly & attentive. After considering all of the options. We decided to have lunch at Braza, the Brazilian steakhouse. Thiago took our order and was super friendly and did a wonderful job of recommending different items on the menu. The food was honestly very tasty but it was served on throw-away plates and plastic wear. We ordered the surf and turf sandwich and the picahna so we expected to pay around $18-$22 for our entrees. He was nice enough to find us and bring our food to us since it wasn't busy and we sat nearby. My friend suggested this spot for a group lunch so everyone could have choices that they would enjoy. There is ample seating and many great options for dining along with a bar in the middle for those that would like an alcoholic beverage. There is a water station available also and ample outdoor seating. While we were there, a DJ was playing 70s music (disco brunch), and I liked that there was background music, but not so loud that we couldn't converse comfortably. WHAT AN AMAZING FIND! My friends and I met here for book club. It was the perfect location for a group as there were plenty of seating options indoor and out. Also, there are multiple places to choose from to eat! There is a bar in the middle which serves happy hour from 4-7. When I went, it was during the week for dinner and it seemed kind of dead, I hope that more people hear about this place because there was a lot of yummy options, the decor was nice and it offers a nice bar and indoor and outdoor seating. We spent hours enjoying the space, food, and friends over the weekend. Now for the food. - Fui Yo Mexican- we tried the birria empanadas and they were delicious and filled to the brim with meat. These are made to order and a side of the juicy consume broth topped of the flavors. Highly recommend. -Antica- we went simple for the kids and got a Margarita pizza. It came out quick and was good pizza. I wouldn't run back for this pizza but the kids ate an entire pie. The only thing that threw me off about this outlet is they charged a common place fee. This is the only Outlet that did that. Kao sushi and poke- sorry will not ever go back here. The rice to ingredient ratio on the sushi was so off. I actually stopped eating after two pieces because I was not enjoying the sushi at all. Not sure they really know how to make real Sushi. -Dancing Yeti- employees were so sweet and made me my own Masala Tea even though they were out. -Kabab2go- I didn't have anything but my husband had the steak kabab and he said it was good. My family and I hung out here this past Saturday. This day, they had live music and people there to play games and blow balloons for the kids, as it was a celebration for one of the restaurants. While there, we had fries from the waffle sandwich spot towards the back, a few drinks from the bar, two curry shrimp meals from the Jamaican restaurant and the kids ice cream from the coffee spot in the back of the hall. We enjoyed all of the food and drinks we had! My thyme and honey drink from the bar was great! I think this place is a cool spot to give yourself (and kids, if you have some) some fresh air along with good food and drinks. There's seating both inside and outside of the hall. Came for lunch on a weekday with a friend. There were so many options! I debated between the Nepalese and the Jamaican. But first, I had dessert at Stack'd brownie. I got the daily special which was a blondie cheesecake. Yum! I decided on Nepalese and had the naan, samosas and goat curry. It was a bit expensive. My bill was approx $34 before tip! The curry was 19, the samosas were 8 and the naan was 5. They take your phone number and text you when it's ready. In the meantime, I got a drink at the bar. They have some holiday seasonal cocktails- fun! And a great menu. I noticed the happy hour menu but we still had two hours before it started. Oh well! We sat outside and randomly three friends we knew, joined us. The one guy had the Jamaican and he said it was the best thing out of everything they ordered. The other guy had a quesadilla which was enormous! My friend had the nachos from the Mexican place, which was a huge serving with beef all over. He didn't finish it. I ate all my food. The goat curry was great. The salad they serve was lacking in dressing and salt. The naan was fine but needed a sauce. The samosas were pretty standard although their sauces were not amazing , just ok. J would recommend the curry but maybe in a sandwich- that way you get the curry and the naan. The rest of the meal wasn't anything to write home about. Overall we enjoyed sitting outside and we had a second round of drinks. Two coco puffs for my friend and I had the coconut vibes and the Christmas gin and juice. Both were fantastic. Bar service is great!!! Parking is super simple; there's a huge garage and it's free! There's an outdoor area with cornhole for the kids and plenty of shade. Bathrooms are inside and very clean. They have a calendar of activities. I like this place better than a la carte because parking is better, there are more food options, a way bigger and better bar, far greater seating choices and the inside is air conditioned. Antica pizza offers different pizza options, though notably I did not see any marked as vegan or gluten free. Rajdhani Indian express offers a variety of Indian dishes such as briyani, tandoori, and samosas. Eight twenty offered a few burger options, a chicken sandwich, and wings. Kayos Jamaican grill has a great build your own bowl option. Braza features picanha, empanadas, cheese balls, and sandwiches. Dancing yeti serves Nepalese and Indian dishes all of which are clearly marked if you need to avoid gluten. Alo's cuban kitchen provides delicious Cuban cuisine. Kabab 2 go features Mediterranean fare from hummus and falafels to kebabs and shawarma. Note there are still several stalls which are empty, so it seems several more food vendors will be arriving soon! There's plenty of parking in the area, and there's EV charging on site as well! Orlando finally has a LEGIT food hall located in the developing Packing District. It's a well-designed swanky spot, but the overall experience will cost you a pretty penny. I appreciate the variety of vendors and types of cuisine available here. They have everything from poke and pizza to Nepalese and Indian cuisine. Another one of the major pros of this location is that they have their own dedicated FREE parking garage onsite, so parking is never an issue. It was very smart of them to include this in their plans from the start. They have a large outdoor patio and courtyard out front that I'm sure will be a crowd favorite hangout spot now that the weather is cooling down. The first time I visited was over the summer and it was so deathly hot, there was literally no one outside. They also have several event spaces and areas that are available to rent for private functions. The main food hall features a large 40-seat cocktails bar in the center and 12 food stalls around the perimeter with large booth seating throughout. We came here with our newborn baby while my parents were in town visiting and it was a family-friendly environment that was easy to navigate with a stroller. So far, I've tried Dancing Yeti, Fui Yo Mexicana, Koa Sushi & Poke, and Braza Brazilian Steakhouse. I've also gotten some cocktails and beer from the main bar. I'm not going to lie -- everything here is very pricey. As others have mentioned in their reviews, there's also an 8% common fee on every check which has definitely been rubbing people the wrong way. That fee is supposed to go towards their entertainment & special programming. After visiting 3 times now myself, I've yet to witness any of that. My best experience so far was the BYO poke bowl from Koa. Everything was super fresh, delicious, and a very generous size. My worst experience was Braza. I tried their Brazilian steak sandwich with cheese. The picanha was tough, dry and had almost no flavor. The other food I've tried has been just ok. Overall, this really is a great space and I hope to see it utilized more often for special events and programming. read more

Oh, how I wish there were food halls on every corner! This charming spot just opened a few weeks back and is pristine with so many unique food offerings. The vibe is very family-friendly, open air and aesthetically retro. I tried a few dishes from a few places, and all were very tasty; prices, however, were a bit high. Some worth the cost, others, not as much. But again, all delightful! The only improvement that could be made is to perhaps offer smaller plates, which allows people to try a little bit of everything vs the larger portions that come with a higher price tag. Across the street is their own private parking garage with no fee. Which is super convenient and gives you those few extra dollars to spend on more food and/or drinks. Overall, the spot is very family friendly and would be a great place to take your kids and let them play while you help yourself to some wine, beer, and delicious worldly cuisines. read more

Heads up...there is an 8% COMMON FEE being charged on all purchases. You should still come, but know that up front b/c there are no signs or anyone mentioning such. Now, the good stuff. The buildout of this place is great, love the potential event and brewery space that is coming. I love the variety of vendors. Particularly looking forward to the Indian - Rajdhani, Nepalese (didn't get the name), and Jamaican - Kayos -- but honestly all of them look really good. I'm a long time fan of Antica, so glad to have them closer to me. We did Rajdhani to go and everything was packed well and when we got home we devoured it. PARKING! I think this is going to be the #1 reason it's going to do much better than the YARD ... there is a free parking garage with plenty of spaces. I'm not happy with the common fee, but I am excited about the food offerings here. read more

My review is based on the bar service and drink experience. First impressions is that the space is nice, airy, and roomy. The concept (which I like) is very different from the Yard Hall. There are individual food counters where you order yourself then seat yourself. This mimics the Hawker style food halls in Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, etc.) which in my opinion is better and more accurate when using the term "food hall." We were able to snag two seats at the bar. It wasn't very busy since the space just opened (Soft opening). I am guessing that the bar tenders are either new to the industry or their training was just lacking. It took nearly 10 mins after we sat, for a bartender to acknowledge us even though there were 3 right in front of us. One was actually talking to her friend (as a customer) right next to us! The funny thing is that when another bartender asked for our order that bartender talking to her friend immediately purked up and volunteered to make our cocktails... kinda strange. I will say the drinks are good. I will come back and eat to get the full experience and update my review. Go and experience! read more

Visited this place for lunch with a group of friends. Very nice location outdoors and in. Has a space for private parties and there was one full blast when we were there. The place looks more like a food court instead of a market but it's a nice place to hangout . The bar is in the center of the location which is convenient for those who want to order drinks. I chose to eat at Brazo and the ribeye was cooked to perfection. I will say the prices are a little steep for Steak and fries but with the economy now it's typical anywhere you go. They have staff that comes around to pick up trash and the tables so that's good service. What they do need is a better dessert place. The kiosk in the back has many options for desserts and bites but it takes away from the ambiance. I may come again read more

This food hall is such a great place to chill and grab yummy food/drinks. There's so many options to choose from and even a bar in the middle. There's lots of seating and outdoor activities like connect 4 and cornhole. It's such a diverse place you could bring kids there and let them play outside or you can have a night out with friends and grab drinks at the bar. They have events too like live DJs. I highly recommend coming here! read more
