This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Florida because it's one of the closest I've found to authentic New York style Chinese food. I've gone into the restaurant a couple of times, and the staff has always been friendly and provided good service. It's a typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant. There is nothing fancy when it comes to the décor, but that's not why I go there. The food is. I've also ordered takeout several times, and I've found that as long as you're specific about how you want your food prepared, they usually get it right. I always ask for no peas and carrots in my fried rice. I honestly don't understand why the chinese restaurants in Florida add peas and carrots, unless it's vegetable fried rice, and you can always taste that the vegetables were frozen. This time I ordered chicken wings with shrimp fried rice and Mongolian beef with only onions, served with white rice. The food was flavorful, and everything was prepared just the way I requested. I also ordered the crab ration which was really good and a shrimp roll came with the meal. The reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of three things. I was served chicken wings that still had feathers on it, which was a huge disappointment. Properly cleaning chicken is a basic part of food preparation, and that should never happen. I also wasn't a fan of the Styrofoam packaging for my order. The other thing was the shrimp roll. Half the roll was all vegetable and when I got to the bottom there were 2 shrimps. I hardly call that a shrimp roll. Aside from those issues, I really enjoyed the food and will continue to order from them, but will continue to let them know that they need to pay attention to these minor details. read more

Out of every Chinese restaurant and St. Cloud they all deserve a one star but this location they're doing something right I'm not a fan of their fried rice though of them using yellow rice but it wasn't bad. I would still have to say China Hunt in Orlando is the best Chinese restaurant I have found so far but Great Wall is right behind them. You always know when you have a great Chinese restaurant when they don't put your food in a little black box and they serve it to you in the classic Styrofoam container. What a perfect small restaurant with phenomenal staff walked in super polite to make it easier. Got the bourbon chicken with shrimp fried rice lunch portion, beef and broccoli with house lo mein dinner portion, both came with choice of side, we got pork egg roll and veggie egg roll. The home made hot mustard is excellent and very spicy! I warned you. The crispy noodles were fresh and addictive. So good in the hot and sour soup! Everything was flavorful and delicious. I have been eating Great Wall for 10yrs plus. I ordered sesame chicken. What I got was a shame. Most of it was breading with one tiny piece of chicken. Also, a few sprinkles of sesame on top some had no sesame. Everything was sub-par for this restaurant. Are they under new management ? Not good. read more

I've been here a few times and this visit wasn't as good as I remember. Not sure if they changed management but the food was lacking flavor. At least they still offer lunch specials on weekends. I did buy a homemade duck sauce and that was good compared to the packaged ones. read more

This place is so retarded. I ordered six orders six different combinations. I asked the lady to give me extra soy sauce. She said she could only give me four and the rest I gotta pay for then I asked her to give me three hot oils. She tells me she can only give me one and I'm looking at her like I just bought six orders of food. Great Wall is a very large buffet. It has everything. All the typical items you'd expect plus sushi and crab legs. There was too much to even look at... and I like food. Everything I tried was good. The best part for me was they didn't seem to use very much if any MSG. I get headaches from too much MSG. Both my stomach and head were very happy when we left. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had been a long time customer before the management change and I have to say I will not be going back. Food was absolutely disgusting. Zero flavor for the spicy chicken and mushrooms; also the pork fried rice was comical. Yellow rice with 10 bits of pork and zero veggies (not even onion). The egg rolls were by far the worst. It tasted like they had been cooked in old oil and they were drenched in it. I did not finish it. It's a shame but if you loved their food before you are in for a rude awakening. read more

I'm a "snowbird" & have been getting My Chinese food at the Great Wall for the past several years as it WAS the best in town & the closest I could find in Florida that was comparable to the wonderful Chinese food that I'm accustomed to getting up in Massachusetts. I recently arrived to spend another Winter in Florida & happened to mention to friends of Mine that I was looking forward to getting My usual dish....chicken with cashew nuts, egg roll, fried rice, & a side order of chicken teriyaki on a stick, from the Great Wall. My friends forewarned Me that there's been a change in ownership, change in cooks, or both of the above, & that the food was no where as good as it always has been. Like a fool I didn't heed their warnings & went there today & spent (wasted) $20+ to get My "usual". I found out, much to My dismay, that My friends were being "kind" in their less-than-favorable "ratings". Everything was total GARBAGE & I couldn't force Myself to attempt eating it for fear of becoming physically ill. The chicken w/cashew nuts was BARELY edible & didn't taste even close to what it used to taste like. The egg roll was rancid-tasting & totally inedible. The fried rice was soggy & tasteless. Finally, the once-delicious teriyaki chicken on a stick is now a bland, nearly tasteless hunk of chicken coated with some sort of weird bread crumb-like crust & it too was inedible. Everything was SO bad that I'm going to fight the brutal traffic & drive back there to return this garbage & demand My $$ back. If they won't refund My $$ I'll be filing a dispute with My credit card company as I wisely paid for this trash using a credit card. So, HEED MY WARNINGS & AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Honey chicken and pork lo Mein they both come with pork fried rice and you can get it with an egg roll or a soda. I ordered mine with an egg roll. Total was $20.38. OK this pulled me out of Yelp comment retirement cause I was very excited to find a Chinese fast food place that actually had some Chinese cooks. Quality of the food was well ....there was none. The only thing I could eat was the egg rolls. The sweet and sour chicken, General TSO, and Burbon chicken were all disgusting and I just threw it out. This place is ten minutes away from my house and I pass by TWO other Chinese restaurants just to go here, the food is always fresh. I almost never have any issues ordering and the prices are reasonable & affordable. They are really quick, by the time I order (before leaving home) and arrive my meal is ready! The best dishes I've had here include boneless spare rib, egg foo young, chow menu, lo mein and the classics (chicken/shrimp and broccoli). Two reasons I gave them a four star, one is that they are incredibly stingy on the sauces, duck sauce is behind the counter and they usually only give one per meal. Secondly lately most lunch specials are FILLED with rice and barely any protein which is disappointing. What I mean is the area for protein/veggies is half way filled with rice underneath to make it seem "full". Hopefully they can cut back on that even if it's just a little! read more

We have been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant in the area for quiet sometime. This one is not it. In a shopping strip with a Publix and a Jersey Mike's in St. Cloud off the main street. I ordered over the phone a wen t for a pickup. It was a Saturday afternoon right before 4pm. I got the 25 minutes after the ordered and it was not ready. The restaurant was totally empty. They charge extra if you want duck sauce. That threw me off. We got hot and sour soup, won ton soup, fried dumpling, boneless spear ribs, pork fried rice, house special lo mein and chicken with garlic sauce. I didn't taste the won ton soup. The hot and sour was not eatable. The taste was down right bad. The boneless spear ribs were not eat apart and left in big pieces with fat. Not even good fat. The hose special lo mein was missing a lot of the "special" items. The chicken and garlic sauce was full of a lot of peppers and onions and not a lot of chicken. The fried rice tasted like it was sitting around for a while. while the place looked clean, it did not look very inviting. read more

To find a decent place to get some Chinese food here in Saint cloud is few far and in between. I went to social media & I asked for the best Chinese places in town and great wall came up by several people so we decided to try it. Service?? it sucked. The man behind the counter who was taking orders was very short and rude with his responses to all customers that came in. The kitchen staff seemed on top of their game and got the food out fairly quickly. I didn't take any pictures of the food because let's face it I'm pregnant and I was craving Chinese food I didn't care about a picture, I cared about getting the food in my body. Hands-down the best Chinese food that we've had in St. Cloud in a long time! Note to self just because you're pregnant and you're hungry do not order a large it is way too much food sick with your gut and get a small. I ordered sweet-and-sour chicken with white rice, it was delicious. My husband got General Taos with fried rice no onions, he loved his too. The best Chinese food around town! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. We enjoy their crab Rangoon, chicken with cashews, house Lo Mein and beef with broccoli. Their Singapore Mei Fun is also delicious! Here's a fun fact about Singapore Mei Fun, it's actually a Cantonese dish and no one knows how it came to be named Singapore Mei Fun because the dish does not originate from Singapore. We have lived in St Cloud sinc3e 2012 and this is the BEST Chinese food we have ever had. The lady that answers the phone most of the time to take the orders (sometimes it is a young man), is very nice. You must be patient as English may not be her first language. So, if you think she is 'rude' maybe you're the a$$ not her!! The shrimp fried rice is great, you don't even need soy sauce it's that good. And if you ask for extra peas and carrots, you get them. At NO extra charge!! I will get an order of steamed mixed veggies (no sauce) to put in the rice when I get home. The fried dumplings are done right and the crab rangoon's are very tasty and full of the cream cheese/crab mixture. The Orange chicken can be as spicy as you like and the chicken lo mein is out of this world. I also get the shrimp chow mei fun, so yummy and flavorful. Good reviews brought me to this place, where I was soon disappointed. The service was fast and friendly. The food however was not so good. I ordered a spring roll, orange chicken and egg drop soup. I have lived in St. Cloud for two years and I am finally happy to announce that I found Chinese food here. Yes, of course there are other places to buy what they call Chinese food, but they are completely terrible. I was so excited when I brought home my food and started putting it on plates and realized I had found a priceless gem! Lol The prices are completely reasonable, but the food quality is out of this world. I ordered the Singapore chow mei fun, steam dumplings, crab Rangoon's and pork fried rice. These are my staple items when trying a new Chinese place and all four are completely amazing from great wall. Even two days later and reheated, this Chinese food is still 100% or more better than the other Chinese places around Saint Cloud. Love this!! Does Great Wall deserve 5 Stars? No-it Deserves 6!! I didn't think a small hole in the wall could be this good-but it makes it on the food served! Yes it is a small place-nothing fancy at all-get your own plastic ware and napkins from the counter. The cashier/waitress/hostess is very friendly and loves to chat when she has a free moment - delightful person. Orange tofu not on menu and they had never made it before-so she asked me to describe it - which I did - and was I in for a treat - if you like tofu - ask for this dish- you will be a fan! The egg-foo-yong was delicious - the mon gu tofu (Sp?) has a pleasing spicy sweet tang - the vege lo mien was excellent- large dinner servings - all for under $25. Carry out or eat in Either way your tastebuds will love you for this choice! Tell them your a friend of Pastor Jack and see if you get my discount! (doubt it but you can try!) There is a Tip container on counter- Be a good Yelper and put something (money) in it.
