This is a review I never thought I'd write. I've been ordering delivery from Green House Chinese for well over 20 years, and their Chicken with Garlic Sauce has always been one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the last couple of orders just didn't seem quite right. That prompted me to look up their most recent health inspection, and what I found was concerning. Their inspection from early July 2026 documented 19 violations, including several related to improper food handling and storage practices that could increase the risk of cross-contamination. While an inspection report doesn't necessarily mean people became sick, those are the kinds of issues that should never be overlooked. To be fair, Green House had a long history of passing inspections over the years. It's really only within the past year or so that the reports have become more concerning. I'm hoping they get things back on track because I'd genuinely like to order from them again. But until they demonstrate consistent improvement, this is unfortunately a hard pass for me. read more

Update: I got 6 meals out of $76. Not bad. The food is great but over price for a small portion. I spent $76 for 4 dishes. The food is legit Cantonese though. Can't find any better in the area. The dining room is very clean. The staff is very friendly. read more

It's your no frills, hole in the wall Chinese spot. Coming from the Bay Area, we have our share of good Chinese food and this spot hit the spot after a long day at the theme park. It's about a 20 min Uber ride from Epic Universe, and while they close at 10:30, they stop serving dine in customers around 9:30 PM. Fortunately I called at 9:10 to let them know we were on the way, and they told us they'd allow us to dine in. I appreciate that. The menu is pretty big. Prices are really good for the portion and all entrees come with rice. Can't beat that. I didn't see any noodle soups on the menu but I saw on Yelp someone had a duck noodle soup so we asked if this was offered. They said they could do it. The broth and noodles were good but the duck tasted a little old. We eat a lot of duck so we're kind of picky, but I think for most people, this would be just fine. We also ordered the honey walnut shrimp, mongolian beef, and beef chow fun. The shrimps were really big, lightly battered, but they smothered the dish in that mayo sauce lol Once you wipe off some of the mayo, it's pretty good though. I loved that they served this with steamed broccoli cause greens ya know? And they offered a good amount of walnuts for that crunch. The mongolian beef was delicious and while there were a lot of onions, there was also a lot of tender beef. The flavor was good, not too sweet, not too salty, and not spicy either, despite all the dried peppers. Beef chow fun was a hit. You can really taste the smoky wok hei flavor which makes it authentic. The beef was tender, the ho fun noodles whole and intact. Paired with their chili oil, so good! The chili oil is upon request only, they don't leave it on the table. Be warned, it does have a nice heat to it!. Service was prompt and courteous. For $71, we were able to have a quick, tasty dinner for 3.5 people (3 adults, one 5 year old). Can't beat that. read more

I always come here for 3-4 items. Walnut Shrimp, Seafood Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun and Fish Filet white sauce with vegetables. Their Walnut Shrimp is lightly battered unlike some places where you cannot tell or see the actual shrimp. The shrimps they give you are huge. You get about 16-17 large shrimps per order.The price went up to $20.99 per order. You get broccoli (steamed) with walnuts topping. It is glazed with the mayo sauce and its not heavy coated to where the shrimps get soggy. Love this dish. The Seafood Fried Rice is delicious with hints of scallops shrimps fish filet and squid. This is not soy sauce based fried rice. Its not a bad price for this special fried rice at $16.99 I think. The Beef Chow Fun is delicious here. The wok hei flavor seeps through the dish. Tender beef with the fresh wide rice noodles. With sprinkles of bean sprouts coats the dish. I love the beef chow fun here. This is priced at $15.95 I think. The Fish Filet with Vegetables I request white gravy is delicious, Unsure what kind of fish they use but its delicious and tender. Cooked perfectly with the sauteed tender vegetables of carrots snap peas napa cabbage from what I remember. The gravy sauce is seasoned to perfection and so good over steamed white rice. I think this dish is $16.99. All entrees except noodle dishes come with a small container of steamed white rice per order. So 1 entree = 1 orderw hite rice. Table service here has its ups and downs. They get really busy on take out and phone orders especially Fridays / Weekends. read more

Whenever I am in town, my family takes me to various Chinese restaurants around town - and one day they took me to Green House - a solid authentic Cantonese style Chinese restaurant option in Orlando. We ordered quite a family style spread, with some of my favorite dishes being the ginger & scallion steamed sea bass and the ginger & scallion chicken, the salt & pepper shrimp AND squid, and basically all of the beef dishes we tried. The boiled pork with pickled vegetables is usually my go-to dish at any Chinese restaurant that has it, but it was just ok here. The pi pa tofu is a great option if you're wanting something a little lighter and the sautéed "special Chinese vegetable" is a staple. Usually it would be water spinach or snow pea leaves, whatever they have in season. Everything else that we ordered was delicious but apparently I still need to try the beef chow fun next time I'm in town! read more

I really enjoyed myself here and thought the food was very good. Friendly helpful attentive service. Was stuck working in the area and hit them up on a complete lark hoping for the best and well, I got lucky I guess. Oddly enough, was in during an off peak time on an off peak day, there was only one cover when I arrived. ...by the time I left, they were slammed not only with several many covers but also with two very large parties. The best Chinese food I've had outside of Chicago. I walked in and placed a to-go order! The staff was friendly, the prices are reasonable and they cooked my food fast. They must have done some upgrades since my last visit because the dining room looked very cozy so next time I'm in town I will definitely dine in. Our favorites and order regularly: seafood pan fried noodle with the crispy noodles at the edge, hearty minced beef soup served in a bowl to share for 4 people is enough to fill up 2 people, salty and pepper squid is tender with some spice to it, the black/shitake mushroom with bok choy is a good combination. What a gem, as finding old school Cantonese like I grew up eating is getting harder and harder in Florida. Although this place is in a strip mall, don't be fooled. It's the real deal. We got a bunch of things to share: the three meat platter (char siu, roast duck, and crispy pork belly), beef chow fun (chewy noodle and tender beef goodness), walnut shrimp, orange chicken, and gai lan so we had something green and it was all delicious. My skeptical 10 year old was happy and didn't even complain about eating his veggies too much. The server was friendly and helpful, too. We'll be back next time we are in Orlando for sure. read more

TRAUMATIZING DO NOT EAT HERE. I genuinely don't know how to put into words the level of horror and disgust I experienced at this restaurant. I have been coming here since I was a kid. It's a local favorite, well-rated, well-known, and up until now, I had always trusted the food and the people behind it. But after what happened to me, I will NEVER eat here again!!! I don't think anyone should. While eating my takeout order of fried rice with my family, I discovered a rather large INSECT!! what appeared to be either a ROACH or CRICKET embedded deep inside my food. It wasn't near the top. It wasn't something that just "fell in." It was COOKED IN with the food, fully mixed into the rice. I only discovered it after I had ALMOST FINISHED MY PLATE. As soon as I realized what it was, I went into complete shock. I literally threw up. I still feel nauseous. This was traumatizing genuinely TRAUMATIC. I will never forget that moment. I immediately filed a report with the Florida Department of Health and will be submitting all photo and video evidence. This goes far beyond a "bad night" or a "rare mistake." This is a serious health violation that puts customers including children and families at risk. The idea that someone else, especially a child, could bite into this is absolutely HORRIFYING. This place needs to be held accountable, and the public deserves to know the truth. I never thought I'd have to say this, but please please please do not eat here. It is not worth the risk. Green House has been one of my family's favorite spots for years, so writing this review is really disappointing. We've always enjoyed the food and have recommended this place to others -- but today's experience changed that. We found a worm sitting right on top of one of the dumplings we ordered, and it was shocking and honestly very unsettling. No customer should ever have to find something like that in their food. This isn't meant to bash the restaurant -- mistakes happen -- but this points to a serious issue in food preparation, sourcing, or kitchen sanitation that needs immediate attention. We're sharing this so it can be addressed, because it's a health concern, not just an inconvenience. We've always loved coming here, but after this incident, we don't feel comfortable returning unless we know food safety standards are being taken seriously moving forward. It's been some time since we have been by. We used to be regulars but then moved to the other side of town. In occasion we will pay crazy delivery fees just to order from here. But we happens to be on this side of town and could go in for an early dinner. Since it's been so long we had no idea about the remodel. It looks nice. Super clean looking. We were happy to see the same people working there. It was so amazing because our server remembered us. Made our meal even more special. The food as always was great. There were five of us. My boys shared a dinner special. One is vegetarian so we ordered chicken and broccoli minus the chicken! So just broccoli lol! It came with fried or white rice and we went with white since the fried rice has pork. It also came with soup and an egg roll. My second son ate the soup and egg roll. The three adults split a cilantro beef soup(the bowl is large enough for us to each have a bowl and that was only half of what was in it. Probably enough for 6 bowls), crab Rangoon, roast pork chow fun(not on menu but they always make it for us), beef with scallions and ginger, and pork fried rice. Amazing Chinese restaurant! Been here a few times and haven't found a dish that I didn't like! The quality and flavor of everything is superb! The place is clean and well maintained. So Green House Chinese Restaurant has been my "go to" spot lately for when I have my Chinese take out cravings... and let me tell ya'll....the food is always a hit! What I love about this place is that they have two different menus depending on what style of Chinese food you are looking for, either American Chinese or Cantonese. Now, I usually navigate towards the American Chinese menu since they have such great combinations and lunch specials, but the last time I visited I opted for the Cantonese menu. The Cantonese menu had a very large selection of traditional dishes which I will say is a tad bit pricier than the other menu. For food, I ordered the stir fry eggplant in garlic sauce with a side of white rice. The portion was definitely a nice size and was filling... and I would say that I'm the type of person that has a decent sized appetite. It was definitely tasty, but I wish it had a tad bit more salt... then it would have been perfect. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious with an ample amount of seating inside. The decor is a bit dated, but that is what gives it a traditional takeout restaurant vibe, which did not bother me. My server was super sweet and attentive with all of the customers. She was the only server this particular night and she was doing a great job running the show. Overall, I really enjoy this restaurant! This place has been on my radar for a bit. Just never made it until today. The one thing I really wanted to try was Beef chow Fun. I needed to ask for the dinner menu and the waitress got it right away. Along with a pot of tea. All I can say is I was NOT disappointed. This dish along with hot tea brings me back to New England. The wide noodles, beef so tender and the seasoning right on point. Finally find a place that knows how to cook Cantonese food. I might need to drive an hour to get there, but I will be back. I don't often say this on any restaurant review but OMG! As someone who left New York a couple of years ago, finding authentic Cantonese food has been nearly impossible. One of our favorite dishes from back east is shrimp with scrambled eggs and we have yet to find someone that really knew how to do it right... until we ate at green house. When we arrived, the waitress brought us the traditional American Chinese menu, but when I asked if they had shrimp and eggs, she came back with a different menu that had the authentic dishes! In addition to shrimp and eggs, we special ordered a fried noodles with vegetables. It was outstanding as well - thin crispy noodles, perfectly cooked fresh vegetables, and a simple yet remarkably tasty sauce. We live in Arizona, so I don't know the next time we're getting back to Florida, but when we do this place will certainly be on our list. read more

It's close to Gatorland so we stopped by today. It's a nice little place tucked in a strip mall. We didn't order too much , the heat is curbing our appetite. We liked Singapore rice noodle - large portion and served up quickly. Not very strong curry taste but enough to make the dish flavorful. Salted fish and chicken fried rice - I always liked the dish. There are pieces of the salted fish which make this more authentic. Not so much BBQ pork - tasted hard. I suspected it was not freshly made but leftover from previous day which is disappointing. This is our go-to place for Cantonese food. It's located in hunter creeks area which is in between the amusement parks & our house. So...a great place to stop after a long day at the park. The food is pretty good...and priced well. They have Cantonese menu & Chinese American menu. My kids love the pork congee and Chinese donut. Hubby always gets the sesame chicken with fried rice. Came here with my parents to celebrate Chinese new year eve. Which is a big deal if anyone knows. My family is from Hong Kong, and I've lived there for a few years so believe me when I say we have high expectations. The food was up to standard. It felt like I was back in Hong Kong eating at a local spot. My parents were so impressed they were already talking about going back the next time they're in town. I would recommend the pan fried noodles and the boneless ribs (sew yok). Very classic and made authentically here. They also do stir fried seafood, we ordered the clams but you can get lobster or crab as well! The restaurant is located at the corner of a strip mall and has darkened windows. They have a sign that indicates if they're open or not. Service was attentive and friendly. They even boxed up our food for us. Probably the best and most authentic Asian food I've had in Florida and maybe even the US. Definitely top 10. read more

Love me some Cantonese food. I didn't eat in the restaurant, I called and ordered for pick-up. I ordered the beef chow fun with a side of white rice and a chicken corn soup. I drove 30 minutes to get it because not all chinese food is created equal. The parking lot has plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant looks clean and comfortable for a sit down, which I will try one day. Brought my food home and enjoyed every bit of it. It was worth the drive.
