Great customer service. Guy who checked me out was hilarious. Honest and fair. Would definitely recommend.

If you love jewelry and great service, you'll love Orr's Jewelers. They have a few locations in the…read morePittsburgh area, but I have only been to the new Strip District showroom. The first time I went, I was looking for a watch to remember my father. Noel was so sweet and friendly to work with! I was liking 2 of the Cartier watches and I chose the Panthere to purchase that day. I went again for their official grand opening, to look for something for my milestone birthday coming up. I like to buy myself something special each year or a trip. I'd been looking all over NYC and online for some art deco pieces and found 2 beautiful Penny Preville pieces. I requested to work with Noel again because she is so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I initially was thinking I would get a bigger watch and once she showed me the art deco diamond Penny Preville pieces, I knew that's what I was going to buy! She has multiple pieces that you could make into a set or buy individually. I chose the larger ring and medium necklace from her 50th year of designing collection. I LOVE them! I really enjoyed both of my luxury shopping experiences at Orr's Jewelers in the Strip District. Thanks Noel for selecting pieces that you knew I would love! I highly recommend Orr's Jewelers and Noel Voorhees!

While the watch was fully functional when I dropped it off, it was returned to me inoperable. It became clear that, despite their authorized status, Orr's lacked the technical proficiency required to replace a battery and re-set a watch with the delicate Caliber 212P quartz chronograph movement. I ultimately had to take the watch to Cartier directly to repair the damage that Orr's caused. My point: If you do not have the expertise to handle a specific movement, it's OK to just say so rather than risk damaging a client's timepiece.

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. The owner is unprofessional, unethical, devious and deceitful…read more I commissioned GDC to make an item for me. I brought some of my own "scrap" gold to be used in part for sentimental value and in part to defray the cost. Picked up my object only to find that my scrap gold had not been used. When I questioned the woman as to why my scrap wasn't used she became a bit nervous and had no answer other than she guessed he "forgot". I was charged far over the estimated price and while I put down a deposit it was ADDED to the estimated price AND, they wanted to keep my scrap! I returned home and called requesting my scrap back, even offering to pay the difference in price (before I realized I had paid far more than the estimate). The woman became nervous and said she'd have to weigh it but would call back. No call back. Phoned the next day and spoke to the owner explaining the situation. Explosive temper is an understatement. I was told, as he was yelling and carrying on, he didn't care about my sentimentalien, he had a "very sick sister in the hospital", daughter in law who passed away, son who took off and is raising their child. That there were more important things in life. His personal problems had no bearing on the situation. Recently lost both of my parents, so the sentimentalism of incorporating it into something I designed was important to ME. I was told I was "weird" because of this. Because of his belligerent behavior and the feeling something just wasn't right I consulted the police. I had a receipt with no discount given for my scrap gold. Therefore, he wasn't entitled to keep it. Poor bookkeeping-on purpose-meant to confuse. The police stopped in to speak with him and I received a call from GDC within minutes telling me I could pick it up. I did so the next day only to be verbally assaulted once again, yelling and carrying on, lacking any form of civility, not letting me speak. I was flipped off, told I was a bitch, told never to come back, he instructed an employee to call the police on ME! Threw me out and told me to go back to my "miserable life. " MY miserable life??! No apology for not using my heirlooms or the unsettling phone call the day before. Unabashedly appalling behavior from a business owner AND man. The man is pathetic. Got caught with his hand in the cookie jar but is trying to make me some kind of scum of the earth. Shame on him for resorting to demeaning a customer because he wasn't getting away with taking something he wasn't entitled to! I don't wear that hat-all his. They (employees) are all in on it. If this doesn't qualify as a poor review and warning I don't know what will. I would give zero stars but it's not an option. One burned and burned up reasonable woman.

THIS APPLIES ONLY TO WATCH REPAIR. They may be excellent for other things…read more Stopped by to see how much it would cost to replace the glass face of my wristwatch. They said they send watches to someone at another location for repairs and estimates, and that it could take a couple weeks. After 4 weeks they called to say it would be $80. I told them no thanks, I'd like to just come pick it up and not have it repaired. It took another 3 weeks before it was back at their store for pickup. Then I took it to a jeweler in Greensburg on a Saturday. They gave me a price on the spot of $30 for the repair and said it would be done in a week. I'm giving GDC 2 stars instead of 1 star because the young guy who was there when I picked up the watch was very patient and polite, and took the time to show me some other new watches that they had available for sale, in case I decided to buy a new one instead of repairing the old one.
