Nearly an hour into the trip, the driver informed us that he had contacted his supervisor about the malfunctioning air conditioning. We were told that we could turn back, but no replacement bus would be provided. Given how far we had already traveled, no one felt it made sense to return, so the trip continued in extremely uncomfortable conditions. After spending five hours in the casino, we fully expected that the air conditioning issue would have been addressed before our return. My recent experience with Greatland Tours on a trip from Houston to L'Auberge was **shockingly unacceptable and completely contradictory to the polished "About Us" statement the company promotes.** For a business that claims to use top‑of‑the‑line vehicles, professionally trained drivers, and exceptional customer service, what we encountered was the exact opposite -- a trip that felt unsafe, disorganized, and downright disrespectful to the loyal riders who depend on this service. When passengers arrived at the pickup location at 7:45 AM, there was no staff member present--only a posted note instructing riders to pay the driver. The bus that eventually arrived was an extreme downgrade: a small, visibly dirty vehicle clearly not intended for long‑distance travel. The first step was broken, making it difficult and unsafe for elderly and disabled passengers to board. **I would bet that 80% of your ridership consists of elderly people, which makes the lack of accessibility even more unacceptable.** Inside, the conditions were equally unacceptable. Seats were cramped so tightly that passengers had to squeeze between rows. Several seats were broken, there were no footrests, and the peeling faux leather rubbed off onto passengers' clothing. To make matters worse, the bus had **no restroom**, forcing everyone to rush into a nearby Taco Bell before departure because there would be no stops during the 2‑hour, 10‑minute ride. Even a car trip of that distance typically requires a restroom break, let alone a bus filled with seniors. The bus held only 38 seats. The first pickup nearly filled it, the second left only a couple of seats open, and by the third stop, passengers with reservations were turned away. Tension rose quickly, and understandably so--loyal riders were shocked by the drastic downgrade in transportation and the lack of communication. Adding to the frustration, prices have increased to $25-$30 with a card and $35 without, yet perks upon arrival at the casino have been eliminated. Riders headed to the Golden Nugget are no longer dropped off there and must find their own way, even those using walkers, canes, or wheelchairs. All of this placed the new driver in an unfair and uncomfortable position, simply trying to follow instructions while passengers expressed justified concerns. In the end, we paid more only to receive deplorable service. It raises serious questions: Should this bus--or any like it--have been on the road? I gave a 2 because there was no place to wash your after using the toilet. It smelled on the bus like shit upon returning from delta down casino on this pass Wednesday. There wasn't clear communication about checking in 15 minutes before. I had previously taken this service at another location, and you paid the bus driver when you got on the bus. They told us 3:50 we missed the bus, when the bus departure was at 4:00, the actual departure was 4:10. The bus driver said that the bus wasn't full, he could add us. When we were asking about paying, the staff laughed, and when another staff asked about catching at another location, he yells and said that we missed it. Until another customer explained the alternate location is a different time, the guy says, oh, didn't know what you were asking. When I asked for names of the employees to tell the owner, he is missing out on a small group One guy did not want to give it to me so I took his picture and he threaten to call the cops, saying I can go to jail, until my friend who works with HPD said there is no law that says I cannot take his photos. Really? You were going to call 911 and when the police arrive say she took at picture?!! Speaks to their racism, when I challenged their thought process they threaten to call the cops???!! We spontaneously decided to take this tour bus to the Golden Nugget! This was our first time to take a bus anywhere. We walked right up to the counter at 3:30 for a 4 o'clock trip on Friday. Nice lady at the checkin and friendly bus driver (who said this was his first time to drive ). We knew we'd hit some bad traffic so he asked if everyone wanted to pitch in money for $15 in tolls. Heck yes we did! The website didn't have pricing or FAQ so I called ahead. It's $15 per person and you can bring food and drinks. They say no alcohol but... You know how that goes. $20 per person If you don't have a casino card. The bathroom was clean and did not smell! I hope this helps! The trip was smooth sailing. If I can give a zero I would. I caught the bus at I-10 at uvalde to go to Golden Nugget @ 7pm two weeks ago. The service was horrible, I made reservations for two. When we got on the bus it was a person in each seat and their bag in the other. I had to ask can I sit down, like I was back in time where black folks couldn't sit on the bus. So my partner and I rode separately the whole way and communicated through phone... smh... what's worse, coming back two couples got into a heated argument over a seat. Nobody wasn't backing down and it was due to the first couple sitting in the second couple seat. There was a shoving match everybody was hollering and they kept asking the bus driver to do something. I thought he was gonna call the police but he didn't people were scared and folks kept breaking them up. To be honest to make Greatland great you should assign people seats when making reservations and this will cut out the craziness and the general safety of the sane customers who pay 20-25 dollars to ride. read more

Yes there are stops for pickup at other greatertour locations throughout Houston. Yes there's a restroom on the bus (didn't use it, so can't tell you the condition). I took a weekday trip so I was with seasonal gamblers and seniors mostly. If your not traveling on a weekend I would recommend "first class tours" cheaper prices too, but it's only available Thursday-Sunday read more

I reserved a Tour Bus to take a group trip to the Coushatta in Kinder La. This was on August 5, 2017, and as of today, September, 12, 2017, I still have not gotten my $200.00 deposit back. I signed a contract guaranteeing the amount of people needed in order to get your deposit back.I had over the amount of people needed. The worst experience of my life! The bus is dirty and smells bad. The staff don't care about customer service and will make you feel bad. They will tell you one price and then charge you another at the last minute when you don't have time to make other arrangements. There's no wifi and there are outlets but they don't work. Your better off getting a car rental with the hassle they will give you. One of the members of staff even hung up on me on the phone when I was trying to get information. That was sign that I should use another company. They also play really loud music so you can't even enjoy talking with your companions. Don't use this company if you want to enjoy your vacation. They will really make you resent going on vacation in the first place. read more

I just want to say that I had a very nice trip with Miss Belinda Tuesday July 9th I'm always having a nice time when she's driving but this time I don't know what it was it was a group of ladies who so-called call their self teachers and up in age at that but they gave her such a hard time and I have to say she handled herself so well one lady spoke said that she just missed out on a $200 tip when she did not because there's myself and a lot of other regulars that right that trip and we tip her well but I'm just proud of how she handled herself with that elderly group of women who was acting like children I will continue to write with Miss Belinda as the driver and one apple don't spoil no bunch. read more

Called to get the bus schedule from 290/Holister to Lake Charles on Friday night, The woman said 8pm, took uber to meet the bus, arrived at 740pm waited till 9pm no bus out $30 on uber for a ghost bus, called to complain, & they argued horrible site, Take 1st Class Tours, at least the bus will be there. read more

Girlfriend and I took this trip to the Golden Nugget. I was nervous because of some of the bad reviews I had read about the bus trip, however it was the only trip available at the time we needed. I was pleasantly surprised! Our driver, Keith, was excellent! It was a fun trip and I would do it again some time. The bus was clean; people were nice; and everything was smooth. We even watched a movie on the trip, going and returning. Yeah, the bathroom was a little stinky, like most small public port-a-potties, but nothing a little hand sanitizer couldn't handle. I liked being able to get up and go when I wanted, without having to wait for the next rest stop. Well worth the money. read more

We had the worse experience 10/30/15. We had a driver who drove like a crazy man. Everybody on the bus was complaining and yelling for him to slow down. Strange people was getting on the bus with bags and he aloud it at first, but half way down the road he make a stop just to tell him about his bag but didn't make them remove the bags. Once we got to Golden Nugget and spent all our money, when we was returning to the bus we noticed he picked up more people who took our seats on the bus and he didn't make them move.
