We love this place. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have almost always have a great cheese deal. The selection of cold meats is phenomenal. Their variety of crackers and biscuits is wonderful. We go in to pick up special treat, and generally come out with new stuff we get to try. Received one of their gift baskets recently from a realtor and to our surprise quite a few edibles included either have already past the best of dates or are close to expiring . Items expiring in the next month or so include bottles of olive oil and ale chutney , while items already expired are some rosemary " crispy " flatbread and a bag of veggie CHIPS . I mean who in their right minds would want their chips not fresh and crunchy ? Nobody ! ! Maybe it's just me but I do think it's kinda sneaky to get rid of older stock by stuffing them in a gift basket . read more

Full of amazingly tasty food! The service is outstanding, extremely knowledgeable and continually offering samples. Their home made asiago and artichoke dip is to die for! Cute Store with lots of specialty items. Went to look for some yummy flavoured balsamic vinegarette for my aunts birthday. I'll have to wait for her to tell me if it tastes good. Also got a couple of jams and Camembert cheeses to try for the holidays. Staff are incredibly friendly there. I overheard them helping some other customers and they were very knowledgeable. Seems like they get a lot of return customers whom they've built a great rapport with. read more

The selection of cheeses, cured meats (salami, prosciutto, etc), and authentic imported Greek, German & other European delicacies, rye bread to marzipan, make the trip from Vancouver well worth it. And if you live in Surrey, you must check it out if you crave great cheese and European delicacies. An epicurean delight! I discovered this pleasing little treasure tucked away in the most unlikely of locales. But when I walked in, and I felt like I'd walked into another world far far away from Surrey. Chris, the owner, is a charming, helpful and welcoming host. Shopping here is an experience of the senses, and to be taken in unhurried. In this day in age, that's a rare find. I felt like I'd stepped back in time to a gastronomic merchant who's traveled the world assembling not only delicious edibles but also beautiful pieces for plating & serving but for gift giving as well. If they had a fireplace, I'd expect to see people cozied up enjoying good company & conversation while letting the world outside drift away, even for a moment in time. For those who've been fortunate to travel and lived long enough, you'll know the melancholy nostalgia of what I mean. Even the care and placement of their merchandise was clearly well considered. You recognize that Chris, his family, and staff, these are people who remember how to enjoy life and it's simple pleasures based around good food and good company. It really was an charming experience, like a flashback trip through the Mediterranean. And everywhere my eye looked there was something new and wonderful to see. This shop is the way shopping used to be, before big box stores and online shopping, and Chris pays homage to that era well. Watch the best before dates of items you want to buy. Almost everything I picked up off the shelf was 3 months past the date. Then when I brought it to the clerks attention, she just said "oh, I'll have to mark that down". This is so typical of European stores in the GVRD. read more

Speaking of easy appys they have so many yummy little snacky things olives, dee-lish crackers, breads (saturdays) deli meats, imported cheeses , balsamic vinegar, the list doesnt stop! I've been coming here for years! I stumbled upon it by fluke one day. The staff has always been very helpful. Doesn't matter if you are having a party for 2 or for 20, there is so much to choose from to go from a plain-Jane type of day to something awesome. Cool selection of cheeses (just picked up Balsamic Cheddar Onion - YUM) a wide range of balsamic vinegars to choose from - you can even do a taste test! Lots of cracker and olive options. The oils, and sauces and the MEATS - oh my! While I have several allergies, I do pick up some olive oil soap (direct from Greece!) and it has done wonders for my skin. read more

I love this place for so many reasons, not the least of which is how much it reminds me of all the best things in Europe! There is a fantastic selection of imported goods, something to suit every palate, especially for those that are looking to explore real European imports. The cheese selection is amazing with something new to try every time and the meats are great as well. It just smells amazing in this store! I love it! It's a great little shop to buy deli style meats and cheeses. They have a pretty good variety, and they also have a selection of olives, and baklava type desserts (which are crazy sweet but crazy good!). This place is a gem! Ever since moving to Surrey I have been searching for a an awesome cheese shop. After going to Les Amis du Fromage in Vancouver it was hard to find anything comparable. Luckily I found this place. The staff is super friendly, they have an large amazing selection of cheeses (a lot of the same as Les Amis du Fromage), great deli meat, an olive bar, and a sorts of interesting foods and gifts you would find in a European store.
