    Chicken Platter
    Christian S.

This place is great. I love a good Gyro platter. I got the chicken platter and it is a lot of food! However, of course I ate it all. This is definitely one of the better chicken platters I have had in Nashville. It is not just plain chicken grilled but it also has onions and peppers grilled with it which provides so much more flavor. Great spot. The service and vibe was good but nothing to skip out the restaurant on.

Left side is Chicken and Steak Platter and right side is spicy bar-b-que mix grill - both were so good!!

So delicious! This was my first time eating Greek Cafe Grill and it was very yummy, we will definitely be going back! Also the man working at the Bellevue location was so kind and helpful!!

The two tzatziki sauces! Wonderful flavor with tang to complement Greek cooking.

Would love to encourage you to come to Greek Cafe. I was offered the Appetizer Plate (choice of 3) from the walk up to counter. Everything looked just so-and-so!!! The spread of beautiful choices!!! Bright green, beautiful, and fresh Tabouli salad, hummus, a little olive a little feta, and everything else!!!! Pita is warm, dredging in through the hummus, grabbed a bite of the piping hot falafel, filled my fork. As much as I could pack on my fork of Greek yellow rice and tabouli, then grabbed a crispy edge of falafel to dunk in the tzatziki sauces. Don't waste your money on grocery store tabouli, or grocery store falafel. Get the real thing. There is no comparison. Go. Get yourself a yummy belly-full! Seemed clean and they seemed very prepared to serve you up!!!

Lots of delicious food for so cheap! We ordered gyro plate which is gyro with rice and salad and pita and a gyro Greek style which is gyro with fries and pita bread.

Quick to-go service, generous portions, great food. I love that they give you 2 sides of tzatziki sauce.

Quick casual Greek restaurant with seating inside and a small patio out front. We ordered the Cafe Veggie sampler plate to share. The person taking our order was very friendly and welcomed us in. He let me substitute baba ganoush for the hummus on the platter. It was served with falafel, pita bread, the baba ganoush, stuffed grape leaves and tzatziki sauce. A generous side of tabouli also was included. We were hoping for Greek coffee but they only had fountain drinks. We decided to share a piece of baklava anyway sans coffee. There was a euro soccer game playing on the tv to add to the ambience. The food satisfied my craving for Greek, I'd stop in again when in the area.

We came on a Thursday at 6pm after hitting up 70 South Antiques just down the road - for some reason Greek food is the perfect cure for antiquing fatigue?? We were the only customers seated on the patio. It seems like there is a constant stream of customers, but all takeout. We ordered the lamb gyro and the falafel sandwich meal. It wasn't the best gyros we've ever had, but it certainly hit the spot. I especially appreciated the extra effort they took to season the fries! We will come back again!

I'd…read moresaved them in my Nashville bookmarks for some time after they received a lot of acclaim on Yelp - I believe at one time they were on a Yelp list of best restaurants in the US. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

I've wanted to eat at Fattoush Café since I moved to Nashville, but I've never found myself in that part of town at meal time. We walked in and found a cozy atmosphere, with no pretense. A single gentleman behind the counter, who may have been the owner, begged our indulgence as none of his employees had shown up to work that day. We were fine to wait given the delicious smells coming from the grill. He asked us if we wanted the chicken shawarma, and then apologized because he was freshly cooking a batch and it would take 15 minutes to be ready. That was music to our ears. Any Mediterranean restaurant that cooks proteins to order shows great promise. We had a chicken Shawarma salad, and the super platter. The portions were tremendous, the proteins were spectacular, and the tzatziki and spicy sauce both tasted looked and smelled homemade. The hummus was some of the best I've had in this town. The total for two huge meals, that really fed us each twice, was a paltry $40. The man behind the counter thanked us for coming in, again thanked us before we left, and was genuinely kind and seemed happy to have us in the restaurant. Very highly recommended for an amazing Middle Eastern meal on Charlotte Pike near downtown Nashville.
