St. Joan of Arc is a modern church that I would guess was built in the late 1970's. There is a much smaller and much older church building across the street so my guess would be that the original congregation outgrew their original building and built a more substantial church across the street. St. Joan's has some nice stained glass. The floor is a hard material.. possibly all marble? So you will hear a lot of footsteps. The priest welcomed all the visitors and I would guess that in Hershey in the summer they get a lot of tourist visitors. Like the other reviewer, I found it odd that the communion line started in the rear of the church. Note: if you want to go to dinner after Mass, you need to make reservations at Fenucci's in advance or expect a two hour wait on Saturday night.

The Session House, our known as building inside glass, came up on a search for road side sites to visit . Listed on the National Registery the Session House, Pastor Study , November 2006. Both the Derry Cemetery and Session House , history was quite interesting from 1700s. If your into cool finds and history, visiting the area, check it out. In between I attended a few services with my grandmother. Derry Presby is a welcoming church with a wonderfully friendly and astute minister whose ministry is one of welcomness and warmth. Also, I have found the intellectual level of religious thought here to be fairly decent. Of course, if you're not a Calvinist, the church may not be to your liking. In terms of the setting, the church itself is beautiful and feels like a very old-world-type church. The facade is brick, the layout easy to navigate, and the downstairs area cool and comfortable. Mostly, though, I was always pleased with the staff, the minister's messages, and the parishioners I have met. In sum, if you live or are in the Hershey area and need a good church, Derry Presby should be on your list of churches to try.

The 2025 Slavic "Plus" Food Fest at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church was an absolute October…read morehighlight! A perfect fall Saturday + amazing food = one very happy festival-goer. Yes, the line was LONG (about 45 minutes for me), but volunteers helped by handing out menus so you could plan your feast while you waited. Once you got inside, the process was smooth: grab a tray, pick your drinks and bakery treats, get your order form started, then move along to the hot food ordering station before paying at the cashier. After that, it was just waiting for your number to be called and collecting your hot food at the counter. And what a menu! Halupki (stuffed cabbage), pierogi, halushki, Macedonian pub burgers, kielbasa, Eritrean tsebi derho (spicy chicken stew), alicha wot (veggie stew), spanakopita, strudel, baklava, nut and poppy seed rolls...the list went on and on. My order: Kielbasa with sauerkraut on a rye roll ($6.50): juicy, flavorful, and the rye roll pairing was genius. First time having it this way, and I'm sold! Spanakopita ($4): huge portion, flaky layers, buttery and delicious. Walnut kifli ($2 for 4 cookies): brought these home for later, but they looked fantastic. Lemonade ($2). And because I couldn't resist: an ice cream sundae with baklava crumble ($4) -- and wow. The crunch + cream combo was perfection. Total damage for the day...$18.50 with 4 cookies and most of the spanakopita in the fridge for late-night snackies. I ate picnic-style in the grass, then strolled the beautiful church grounds with my sundae in hand, soaking it all in. Pro tips: Don't be intimidated by the line--the food is worth it. Restrooms are available inside, just ask a volunteer (I found two with zero wait despite the big crowd). Go on Saturday if you can--food sells fast and you'll have the best selection early. This was my first time attending, and it's officially earned a spot on my annual must-go festival list. The later-in-the-season timing is perfect, and the food was outstanding. Already looking forward to 2026!

A good Orthodox Church ought to embody this balance, while still remaining home-like. It is after all the very meeting of heaven and earth. Christ the Savior Orthodox Church is a remarkable example of good Orthodox architectural form filled with icons of significant old covenant foreshadowing mirrored by their fulfillment in Christ. It is uncommon, in my understanding, to find such a consistent mirroring, for example, of depictions of the divisions of the nation's at the Tower of Babel with the union in the Church brought at Pentecost. All of this would mean nothing, however; without a truly Orthodox archpastor, and a community endeavoring towards the kingdom. While I did not get to meet many in the parish, I did speak to the protopresybter and hear his homily, which was filled with pious and God-pleasing insight founded upon the experience of the Church. I recommend this parish to those interested in joining themselves to the Apostolic Church, and to fellow Orthodox traveling through the area.

The Hershey Free Church is what we'd call in my neck of the woods a "megachurch". Their sanctuary…read morecan hold around 5000 people, and at the last service I attended, the place was nearly full. They have three services on Sunday - 8:00 AM, 9:15 AM, and 11:00 AM - so there are plenty of choices depending on your morning routine. The congregation is welcoming, but not intrusive. The worship style is contemporary with synthesizer, drum set, guitars, and a team of singers. The pastor preaches in a combination of exegetical and topical style. This is a large church with a lot of opportunities and resources. It has a strong biblical base, and a tradition of strong doctrine. They have strong community outreach programs as well. The hardest part of services is their busy parking lot. Be sure to follow the traffic patterns and obey those directing you to spaces. And watch out for the occasional congregant who may step out into traffic without looking both ways.

A monthly Sunday evensong usually followed by a concert ranging from traditional Anglican sacred music to jazz, trombone choir, plain a cappela hymns or soloists is offered. After 6:30 mass on a Tuesday come over to the church social hall and we'll treat you to free breakfast. That coupled with wonderful company will start your day off in a great way.
