I read the review about the 'Bate's Motel' award. There is a bed and breakfast not too far from that motel if you are interested in luxury. When we moved 100 miles to this area and couldn't move in right away we tried both. After one night in the B&B we left before breakfast. I work nights and had pets, children, and a babysitter that had to come with us. The B&B owner knew all of this prior to our staying. By 530am the owner of the B&B told me that Ma'am you need to change your lifestyle... we were gone gone before breakfast. The next night we stayed in two rooms at the Green Acres Motel (one for me and my husband, and one for the kids and sitter). Ok, the rooms weren't the most up to date... blah blah blah.... BUT the staff was incredible! They were unbelievably accommodating and friendly! The linens were clean and fresh, I felt very safe leaving my kids and sitter in a separate room. I live here and have summertime relatives who look for a place to stay for a few nights to visit in the winter, I have told them of both the B&B and Green Acres. But I would truly recommend Green Acres. If Anthony Melchiorri were to come and help them renovate they would be the best Motel around!! read more
