Manager is disrespectful, and a loose cannon. Should not be allowed to work around firearms! I brought in a brand new, never been fired gun, to have the barrel threaded. They quoted $299.99. Went to pick up the gun and it was $499.99. They stacked a washer under the thread protector and said they put on a suppressor and ran a rod thru it, appeared all good. Paid the increased price, thanked them and left. Went home, put a brand-new suppressor on it, fired one shot (first shot ever thru the gun) and it came out of the side of the can. Took to another shop to have a laser ran and the angle of the threads are off causing the can of the suppressor to not be in line with the barrel. Called next day and explained to G.A and they said they would take care of it. Brought the gun in next business day (holiday weekend), manager A.J came over and I explained it again. I asked if they could please run a few rounds thru it before i drive an hour back to pick it up so that i know its good. The manager AJ came unglued yelling and cussing saying he's not an F*ing gun smith, that he doesn't know what I expect. Then after asking him not to cuss at me, I'm told to get the F out or he will call the law. Asked for my money back for the service, refused, So now im out $500 and cant use the suppressor. Other customers even left the store due to this managers outrage. Yelling and cussing because im asking for their service to be tested before picking up. This is completely unacceptable. Someone that can flip a switch and start yelling and screaming at a customer should not be allowed to work with firearms. I will let everyone know never to trust this store. read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes! Ms Candy is one of my favorite Unicorns in the world! She helped me find my hearing protection. I walked around almost the entire store looking at all the cool items, but had not seen the hearing protection area yet. I was waiting for a clearing by gun counters and that's when Ms Candy cheerfully asked if she could help me find anything. I was ready for help too, because I kept getting distracted by all the things! Ms Candy helped me try on different styles of earmuffs. And I was so excited to actually find one that I liked! I tried to match the ones that I liked at my gun range, but this one was even better. I have a wide head and that is normal for a Guamanian, but it does make a harder job to find things like eyeglasses, headbands, etc. At the range proper fitting hearing protection was a must!!! Safety first!! To make things more complicated, I have TMJ and get migraines easily. As I previously stated, Ms Candy is a hero for her patience, knowledge, and TLC! And now I never have to worry if someone had the wide set that I needed at the range and I always know that my headset is clean! So with this mission complete, I even had even more time to look around and even try out one of the guns on my wishlist. Hubby enjoyed his time here too. The manager is a crook and when called out about his dishonest business practice... "you can get the "f" out of here." With a few "G.D.'s" thrown in. Ray and I went yesterday to buy more practice rounds for our weapon. We decided not to get the expensive hollow point rounds for $50 and instead just get 2 boxes of practice rounds with an additional magazine. The ammo alone was already marked up 100%. He pulled a clip from a display weapon and chose to sell it to us at the same rate as the 50 rounds of hollow points and ran it through the register as ammo. Had we just ordered from Academy Sports online... we'd have saved so much money and wouldn't have been wholly and totally disrespected by this aweful "manager" that cussed us out for his wrong doing. He refused to do a refund and made it to where we had to leave with the Hollow points anyway. I'm very proud of how I conducted myself and the respect I carried for everyone in the store, including him. This is what makes supporting local businesses so challenging. People like that! So in 2019 i got a dv charge and in 2020 or 2021 i applied for a 45 and i told them about my charge and they told me i cant have ANY weapons and i spoke to jax sheriff and they said i could. At this point i feel like green acres lied to me and i feel played because it took 6 months for them to reply and i called every week and waited a month for them to tell me no i cant get it. So when i said what about the deposit they told me come get my puny $85 but theres a fee to even start it or background check. So it was $30 or $20 pick up and i was like "excuse me?" It was just insane. My husband, father in law will never go there again and they've got all of their weapons from here. Never again. Let these guys re string my bow and change my cam mods and they told me it would cost $220.00. When I went to pick up my bow they charged me $320.00 and said that the extra cost is for the cam mods. You mean the cam mods you told me would be an equal trade for my old ones? They even tried to keep my old cam mods without my permission. To make matters worse after doing some research, I found the same cam mods for less than 50 % of the price they charged me. Haven't been to this place In Almost 5 years and decided to give them a try because I was looking for specific scope rings for my rifle, and after exhausting all other options in the Jacksonville area I figured I'd give green acres a try. Upon walking in I wondered around looking for the scope rings and not a single person offered any assistance, oh well not a big deal once I found the scope rings (behind a sales counter) I finally had someone walk up and ask if I needed help I explained I needed a specific height scope rings and this is the point the sales person decided that's not what I needed and wanted to argue with me I kindly explained why I wanted higher scope rings and not just a riser and he walked off. I see not much has changed since I was last in here based off my interaction and others in these reviews. This place is a complete ripoff on the guns/ammo/reloading side. I repeat drive 20-30 more minutes and go to another gun store. What you spend in gas, you will save in guns/ammo cost. My buddy spent about $250 more for a Sig here than another close-by gun store has for sale. Another time he "negotiated" his way to MSRP for an optic that they had marked up $150 over retail. The archery side is decent. They have an ok selection of bows, and they have their own brand arrows, which aren't too bad. read more

Dropped my bow off for a new string, which I was told was on hand and could be taken care of quickly. I emphasized to only replace the string and nothing more. I was then told the price of the string covers set up, but ok just the string replacement. Waited a week and stopped by to check on it, since I expected to hear something by day 3-4. They sold the string to someone else and didn't communicate this to me. Once the bow was done I show up to pay for the string to find they set up the bow and tied everything in without me being present to make adjustments, and charged me an extra $14 on my receipt for the string than I was told. When I asked about the up charge I was told it was for tying on the D loop. I reminded the guy that I didn't want any of this done, and asked why would you tie in the peep site without me anyways? He responded with that's right, and gave me the response, with a smart ass attitude, Do you want me to cut it off? I don't mind paying a for what i asked for, but I won't tolerate rudeness. So I should have read the reviews before I went to buy ammo from them! Lesson learned! And I will never set foot in this store again.
