Pie connoisseurs won't be disappointed because there is a big range here and new is their vegetarian pie. They have really good bakery bread buns and the usual bread loaves. Sweet tooths will be well satisfied in this bakery because they have the brownies, the lamingtons, the cream cakes, my family were a little bit spoilt when I got home. They also cherish their regulars; for example my partner used to be a regular and then moved overseas for 3 years and they still remembered her after all that time! And then there's the pies, oh sweet sweet delicious heaven-sent morsels of delight! They have the standard fare which drive a hard bargain at $3.60, but then they also have 'fancy' pies for $4.20 which include rockstar gems like Steak, Mushroom, Bacon and Cheese, or Chicken, Camembert and Cranberry, or Steak and Kumara, or Butter Chicken and Broccoli. The downs: I'm not convinced by these tastings that La Voie is all the rage, but that's probably just because I've been spoiled by the French market in Parnell. Although I am a traditionalist, preferring my choc brownies with nuts usually, this one was pretty bloody good. It was fresh (always a good start!), crunchy on the outside and gooey soft-fudge-like in the middle. It was a pretty decent size too; I have a sweet toot but still had to stop half way and give myself a break before continuing! Boldly displayed on the window it is written that this bakery has won awards (quite a few years back), for 'European bread', croissants and most recently for their quiche.
