This is a really wonderful hidden gem in Bellevue. It has the feel of a nice local market with farm to table ingredients, but you really feel like you can purchase many foods you actually need for the week. The vegetables are incredibly fresh and are grown on site. Very friendly staff. Lots of locally made artisan ingredients, including bread, honey, chocolates, etc. The towels are hilarious. The little gift packages of bake your own goods would make a perfect gift! We will plan on checking out their CSA. And the outside of the market area is so gorgeous. You have to check this place out.

My CSA box was so big I needed a bag to fit the rest in!

GDG continues to be one of my favorite places in Nashville. This organic farm is so cute and has the nicest people who work there. I decided to sign up for their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box for the week ($27.00). The local farm box was so loaded that I not only had a box full of items but a reusable bag full of stuff as well. I found that early November is actually a perfect time to get a huge box of stuff because it is between the Fall and Winter veggies so there is a great assortment of items. My box had the following: -3 lbs of either sweet potatoes or potatoes (or mixture of both) -1 bunch of kohlrabi -1 squash or pie pumpkin -3 apples -4 turnips -head of lettuce -1 bunch of arugula -1 bunch of red lettuce/chard (can't remember which one) -3 green tomatoes -1 bunch of bok choy -2 beets -head of broccoli -head of cauliflower Yes, ALL THAT! I was amazed too. This will last for a couple of weeks of cooking so will save me multiple grocery trips as well and then I know I'll be using really great produce which is seasonal. Also, one of the employees was so helpful. I had never seen kolhrabi (okay sometimes I feel like I live under a rock) so I asked him how to cook it or what to make with it. He gave me several suggestions. After I got my haul I decided to go back to their farm store since you get a discount there when you buy a CSA box. This little store has some fantastic items. They have gifts, baked goods, beverages, body care, dairy, dry goods, produce, jams/jellies and more. I ended up getting GDG-made apple butter, orange blossom honey and a candle. I love the store and I love my farm box!

When a fun farm area in Nashville!! They consistently have events posted to their site, though I have personally been for strawberry picking and to see the sunflowers. Each time I browse through the general store to find something yummy to snack on, and walk across the garden grounds. I enjoy seeing the chickens and bunnies around back. When the weather is nice it is fun to sit outside on a bench and enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds. Green Door Gourmet also makes for a great venue setting, as they offer lots of parking and lots of land.

Just a bit disappointed in how expensive everything was. They do have local vegetables, bake goods, drinks and a deli that sells sandwiches ,cold pastas and salads . They do have strawberry picking during the spring and that's at. They have chickens and bunnies Eggs are expensive.

Beautiful property. Wonderful space. Great selections of products that range from farm fresh local veggies meats baked and bottled goods. They also have some great frozen snacks that are also lovally made and sourced. The BIGGEST DOWNFALL of this place is that it does not accept SNAP which is sad and limites those who have these benefits from having farm fresh local option. I was highly dissapointed because even vendors at the Nashville farmers market take that as a payment. I wish more places like this cared to consider applying to accept SNAP so that all people have equal access to wholesome local options.

    Fresh food and fresh air!

WE picked up our first CSA box and wandered around the store a bit. They have a ton of stuff. Fresh jams, jellies, sauces, breads, honey, meat all at reasonable prices. Our box had Strawberries, , Hot house/field grown & hydroponic tomatoes , sparagus,Spring onions, Lettuce/salad mix , Sauté mix (a blend of chard and turnip collards perfect for sautéing) , Green garlic, Assorted fresh herbs(Lemon Balm, Basil, Rosemary, mint), the first of the yellow squash. We have use some of it already and man of man is it tasty. Skip your local supermarket adn come on down to the Green Door Gourmet. Will be back next weekend.

Green Door Gourmet is a working farm, that in addition to selling their own items, gets home grown items from farms around the Tennessee area. They offer a weekly CSA box as well, with various vegetables and herbs. If you are looking for farm fresh that is literally farm fresh, this is the place to come. The prices are a bit higher than you'd see at Kroger, but the reality of this sort of farming is that its impossible for places like this to meet bottom line without paying extra. Quality is the name of the game here. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you might have with a smile. The only downside is that they are a cash or check only business. In an age of iPhones and Square, I can't give them full marks. I do however recommend them, and make sure you bring a little extra cash just in case something catches your eye.

Should you fancy yourself a treat, there's everything one might desire from a local market, from southern-style vegan food to freshly made cinnamon rolls and sparkling lemonade. Be aware that, considering these are smaller, home-grown vendors, some of their quantities are limited. You may want to arrive a bit earlier in the day if you have your eye on something in particular. If you're a local to the area, you will most likely see someone you know. In fact, one weekend, there were at least three families we recognized in the park! This makes your shopping experience that much more personal and pleasant, especially in pandemic times. Take a leisurely stroll through the different stalls, making small talk with strangers, sellers, and friends alike. That's my kind of Saturday. We ended up purchasing a beautiful blanket from The Nashville Blanket Project which gives a blanket to someone in need for each one purchased. It comes with an adorable "Keep Nashville Cozy" tote bag. My partner also purchased a (high premium) banana pudding in glassware that he devoured in a matter of minutes. (I'm not sure I recommend the double-digit price tag on that on, delicious as it was and vegn as it was.) All the stalls were dappled in sunlight, and the winter air felt more like a summer breeze. There must be something like magic in the air here.

Sigh. I did wish I had stopped here first! Everyone was very friendly and there was anything and everything you could ask for at a Farmer's Market! This was much more of a "bustling market" and since it is on the grass, families were able to spread out blankets and could stay to enjoy the live music! I very much enjoyed walking through and browsing, but as I had already purchased what I needed from the other farmer's market, I did not purchase anything this time around. However, I did feel that the vendors at the other location were a bit more personable and were very generous with samples and talking about what they offer. This one lacked that slightly, but overall had more of what I needed.

I'm all for a sustainable company that specializes in making sustainable food accessible, so when I…read moresaw MEEL at BNA i was very excited, only to be met by what looked like greenwashed jargon. A few other potential customers were walking around the store and one finally said out loud what i was thinking, "how is it sustainable if it's wrapped in plastic?". The majority of what they available was not sustainably packaged, contrary to what the screen's mission statement said. A lot of products could have easily been packaged with paper or glass. I get it, it's an airport and you want snacks on the go but I argue there is lots of room for creativity that isn't plastic packaging. I could go to any other snack shop for the same thing. The screen talked about how everything was locally sourced, but it would have been lovely for at least one of the slides to do a spotlight on at least one farm, or any of the farms they source food from. Maybe even saying how they use their resources and turn them into products i see as a customer walking into an aisle. Does MEEL have personal relationships with these farms? Many brands say they are "locally sourced" when not. I looked at their website and it is great they have a producers page where there is breif info about each farm they partner with, but few additional links to support those farms. It is rough out there! It looks like MEEL hq is changing locations so they did not have products in stock online. Another concern is that there were not properly labeled plant based options in the store. I was surprised there weren't more options, or that MEEL itself wasn't entirely plant based, as animal agriculture is the #2 leading cause of climate breakdown. Are any of the farms they partner with regenerative farms? Does MEEL deliver with planet forward transportation in mind? No brand is going to be perfect, and I want to encourage MEEL because they clearly have passion for earth and health. But I also cannot let these things slide for a brand that is slapping "sustainable" to their marketing. If that is the goal, and you're working on it-- say that. But to say you have already arrived is not true. I don't fly much, but if I'm back in town, I very much so look forward to seeing updates and improvements. Best wishes, truly.
