If they don't have something that you have your eye on, you can connect with them to see if they will order it for you (which they likely will, if they can!) Really flexible hours of operation, open late many nights of the week, and there are constantly events occuring here. They have a fairly large, well-lit, and clean gaming space in the back. I had my eyes set on Agricola but after talking to the associate I realized I wasn't ready for such a heavy euro game just yet. The associate asked us what we liked and then basically went through their entire collection with us, pointing out and explaining various games that he thought would appeal to us. You don't get customer service like that anymore! All the games are also much cheaper than you would find at Chapters or Mastermind Games. They've also got tons of other nerd stuff like comic books, figurines, and superhero paraphernalia. The store is located in the back of the plaza so it's difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

Arrived the next day, and spoke to an employee to pick up my order, but he was rude and told me that I couldn't pick it up because it wasn't ready yet and that he had 65 orders ahead of me, even though those other orders weren't there and we had spent an hour round trip to drive out and come pick this up. Received the email saying it was ready for pickup half an hour later.... At least the other employee who I picked it up from two weeks later was much nicer. Highly recommend shopping at 401 Games or Boardgame Bliss instead.

The atmosphere is incredibly casual. Workers there are quick to help. At least two of them will openly tell you when something is a bad deal, but won't fight you on it if you wish to continue with the purchase.

I was having a hard time tracking down a physical copy of the Lunar Remaster and was told by a kind employee at EB that it's only really sold at Video Games Plus if I wanted a physical copy. It's far from where I am in Newmarket, but I figured, why not. I called ahead of time to confirm they'll have a copy, and the employee really didn't sound like he wanted to answer questions. Fine, I'm just going to get a game. We went the morning of, at opening, because I wasn't sure if a) they'd have more a few copies and b) how popular it was going to be. They opened half an hour late and the employee, who I think is the same one I talked to previously, really didn't seem like he wanted to be there. We got my game and left. I'm a little surprised I got it at the same price that I've seen online because a lot of their other selections were far too expensive that I'd consider buying any of it. Some of the cases didn't look like they'd been taken care of and, while store was tidy, I can't say it was very organized. Not sure how you can screw up so much in a short time, but they did. I feel like they could go under at some point because they probably aren't competing with EB, and am physical store for overpriced retro stuff is a hard thing to keep up with. But maybe the clerk wouldn't care anyway.

After some years of use, the screen went-out and one of the springs in the battery compartment corroded due to a leaky Energizer. I got quotes in the hundreds for repair at various places. On a lark, I asked Luigi at Nerdgasm for a quote and he said to bring the device by for a consult, issued a ticket and said to leave with him for review. Because the device is rare and niche, to say the least, he took his time because he wanted to be careful and examine it properly in case of any other issues. Aging electronics require caution. Luigi took personal interest in the device and suggested a compelling ballpark figure, pricewise. The upshot: spring was replaced and the screen was updated to a modern variant with a lot of added cool features not in the original. The price was in the double digits, well within my budget. While Luigi is not quick with older, rare devices, (because he is cautious), the end result is worth the wait with modest pricing. If you have some rare special electronics where care and attention to detail supersedes speed, Luigi at Nerdgasm is your first consult.

We both had the eggs Benny, while mine was the Cajun shrimp (unique and flavourful), hers was the classic bacon Benny. They were both beautifully plated, yet surprisingly reasonable for the quality. What really sealed it was the service. Staff was attentive and smiley, but the owner stole the show, came by, chatted for a solid 15 minutes, and shared the restaurant's backstory. Felt like old-school hospitality, not rushed commercially influenced like most of the commercial restaurants in the area.
