I was having a hard time tracking down a physical copy of the Lunar Remaster and was told by a kind employee at EB that it's only really sold at Video Games Plus if I wanted a physical copy. It's far from where I am in Newmarket, but I figured, why not. I called ahead of time to confirm they'll have a copy, and the employee really didn't sound like he wanted to answer questions. Fine, I'm just going to get a game. We went the morning of, at opening, because I wasn't sure if a) they'd have more a few copies and b) how popular it was going to be. They opened half an hour late and the employee, who I think is the same one I talked to previously, really didn't seem like he wanted to be there. We got my game and left. I'm a little surprised I got it at the same price that I've seen online because a lot of their other selections were far too expensive that I'd consider buying any of it. Some of the cases didn't look like they'd been taken care of and, while store was tidy, I can't say it was very organized. Not sure how you can screw up so much in a short time, but they did. I feel like they could go under at some point because they probably aren't competing with EB, and am physical store for overpriced retro stuff is a hard thing to keep up with. But maybe the clerk wouldn't care anyway.

I emailed them to confirm my first item was available before I placed an order, only to get "product wasn't able to be sourced". I even emailed them twice before to check on my order status, for them to tell me "the second item was missing". They can't even get right what products they have or don't have in stock. As well pre-orders are not guaranteed.

Here is my updated review. I've kept my my original review is below (which I had given 5 stars), in…read moreit's entirety. UPDATE: June 17: I had brought my phone to Gamerama/iRepair to fix my shattered screen and LCD display. When on the phone asking for a quote, I was explicitly told by the representative on the phone that the price included a tempered glass screen cover (and he even said it had a value of $20). So, I stopped in, had my phone repaired very quickly, even mentioned to the guy at the counter that I was happy to have the "unbreakable screen" included as he completed the sale and I left happy. Fast forward 3 weeks: My phone face-planted onto my hardwood floor from a the seat of a regular-height chair. I brought my phone back to Gamerama to quote me on a new repair. In the time between, I no longer had my receipt (which is their warranty slip) but I was advised that that didn't matter and it only covered function, not physical damage. I mentioned to the employee (a different guy from my original visit the month before) that I was told it had a tempered glass protector applied and didn't know why the screen would damage. The new guy told me that there was ***no*** tempered glass screen applied. I told him I was told twice about it--once during my over-the-phone quote and once when I completed the sale. He confirmed again, "no." Althought I understand and accept that I was the one responsible for the phone dropping, but with a tempered glass cover, the screen should have survived a light impact drop from less than 2-feet above ground. Had the tempered glass actually been applied as I was told **TWICE**, I believe the LCD would have been saved only requiring me to replace the glass. I was quote for a while new repair job at $130 cash. (I paid $158.20 including tax during my previous visit). While I thought this was fair (they run a business after all) I was so irked that they barely acknowledged that they lied about the tempered glass that I decided not to proceed with the new repair. I actually recommended this place to two friends since my first repair in May, however I've since retracted one of those recos I made and told them my second visit wasn't so great. IF YOU USE THIS PLACE: Make sure you have the work itemized in writing and signed-off on at the time of payment. I left with a sour taste about this place because of their dishonestly. Fun fact: the guy who repaired my phone the first time was also behind the counter again (though not serving me) said that even if there was a tempered glass protector, it wouldn't have helped. Funny since HE IS THE ONE WHO TOLD ME IT WAS APPLIED!!! The actual face-to-face interaction with customers is pleasant and professional. I understand that I needed to be treated as a new sale and my previous patronage wasn't necessarily relevant in getting a discount. But the lie is annoying and bait-and-switch is illegal--They told me it would (and did) have tempered glass--but they actually never applied it! I'm so irked that I will have my phone repaired at the shop up the street from my home that is about $20 more and probably won't offer me a cash price. ORIGINAL REVIEW - MAY 27, 2016 Gamerama/The Repair Store provided speedy service at a very reasonable price. I shattered the screen and damaged the LCD of my iPhone 6. I brought it to Gamerama/The Repair Store and it was ready the next day (or sooner, if I wanted). It cost me $139.99 to fix both issues, and they included a tempered glass protector to prevent me from causing the same damage again. The value and speed of their service is excellent. I will certainly recommend them to anyone who experienced external damage to their phone.
