Each booth sets their own prices, so sometimes you'll come across a seller that's not always the most reasonable with what they've got but no more so than any other shop with a similar set up and I've found the majority of sellers to be very reasonable or at minimum on par with what I would pay ordering online. I've found the selection to be really varied, no two 'booths' feel the same and while some have more 'theming' than others I enjoy a bit of chaos that comes from thrifting at shops like this. My favorite booth is #462, which primarily focuses on a variety of vinyl records. I happened across their booth before they technically opened last year and didn't realize it wasn't even open yet, but the gentleman setting up very graciously let me browse through and pick up something. Their prices feel very fair and I appreciate that part of their sales go into donations and they indicate what percentage is going to their chosen organizations. They're one of the few vinyl sellers I've come across that takes the extra time to put new sleeves on the jackets and notes if there is any damage/how the record plays with said damage. It's a pretty small detail, but very much appreciated. I haven't had any personal interaction with other sellers, but on the whole the atmosphere feels very welcoming and is a fun place to check out.

I wish…read moreI would've read the reviews prior to going as it seems the owner or manager(?) has a reputation for piss poor customer service. Would NEVER go there again. I was at the last of the booths when at 5:40 I heard someone come in and the man (Jim?) behind the desk screamed they were closed, the woman wanted to confirm because of the 6 pm closing time, he screamed again and then started cussing at her. I believe he even called her stupid after she left. I couldn't believe it, my jaw dropped. Something so simple made him snap. She called him out for being rude. Which good for her. Mind you there was no announcement made to customers that they were closing earlier and no sign on the door stating so either. I walked out looking for the poor woman. And lo and behold it was my aunt and cousin coming to surprise me. If I had known it was her he was dropping f bombs at, I wouldn't have spent a dime!!!!!!!!!

Each vendor prices their own items so it just depends on what you're looking for. I'm more into vintage and so were most of the people shopping today. Some of the spaces are very small so you may have to squeeze by another shopper in some spots. They have baskets and shopping carts for your convenience. Staff were friendly, greeted you when you walked in, offering to wrap breakable items. They do offer boxes for gift giving at an additional cost.

Jacob and I moseyed into this antique shop on a sleepy Saturday afternoon. It's located on the…read morecorner of Michigan Avenue and Williamson in Dearborn. We've driven by it a few dozen times and it never caught our eye. The first thing I noticed were the jewelry counters! Jacob immediately knew we were in trouble, because I LOVE shiny things. They had a huge selection of vintage brooches, pins and other fine baubles. The floor space isn't very large but it's well-curated. There isn't "junk" here like so many antique shops tend to keep. Retro Image owns all of its items outright, which means more room for haggling! The prices seemed a little high, but again, we were able to negotiate a bit when it came time to check out AND the items were nice. In addition to all sorts of jewelry, they had an entire rack of vintage clothing in great shape, tons of leaded, bevel-edged glass panels, artwork, a basement bar set (!!), wooden furniture and branded memorabilia. The clerk, Chris, was incredibly kind and patient while showing me all different brooches behind the glass. He said their stock rotates constantly, so I'm looking forward to many more visits to Retro Image.

I am consistently impressed by the many offerings at POST! It's my go-to place for unique cards and…read moregifts as it is so thoughtfully curated and features amazing local artists. The entire staff is SO helpful if you need help deciding on a gift, and if you're lucky, you'll be greeted by a parade of small dogs upon entering! If you shop long enough, you will certainly notice the schedule of events and workshops posted in the store (or, more likely, a workshop that's in progress!). It's an impressive list with a wide variety of crafting options and skill levels. I've done two workshops so far and attended a handful of events, each one was absolutely fantastic! And last but certainly not least - there's a great cafe in the back with big tables for laptop-ing, chatting, writing - whatever you fancy, you can do it here, and with a delicious cup of coffee/tea! So lucky to have POST in my neighborhood.
