Dr. Ross was recommended to me by an on-line acquaintance and it turns out that he was an early mentor of my original GP. For the first couple of years, the only negative input was from a friend who was horrified that I'd chosen Dr. Ross. She reported that he'd simply left the room when her daughter had started throwing up in his examining room and was very unengaged. This did not match my experience to that point, but.... After a couple of years, I suffered an injury that required X-rays, an MRI, and ultimately surgery. Dr. Ross was very weak on pushing the required paperwork through Blue Cross and left on vacation without making sure that someone in his office would energetically pursue the matter. Some symptoms became worse and I saw an associate of his who not only got the first paperwork pushed through but ordered additional tests and got them approved...it turned out that I needed surgery. The second doctor's crisp and quick response really was a stark contrast to Dr. Ross' response and I subsequently switched doctors. A specialist expressed surprise at Dr. Ross' initial lack of diagnostic response to my injury and said that perhaps he was just slowing down. Dr. Ross isn't awful but there are better doctors out there. I was very disappointed.

Dr. Uyeki does not take United Health Care Insurance anymore even though UHC's website for 2019…read moresays that he is in Network for 2019. The Dr. says that they have not been with UHC for years but UHC says otherwise. This doctor is very selective about the types of insurance he accepts, and the plans in each insurance company he accepts so before coming here I would first call the insurance company to confirm and then double confirm with Dr. Uyeki's office. This can change year by year so always check each Jan 1 as doctors dip in and out of insurance networks. This Office is closed on Thursdays. They speak fluent Japanese here and that clientele makes up a large part of their practice. This Dr. also does not do x-rays in office anymore but does do blood draws and then sends them out. He used to take blood and x-rays and develop them in office--no more. On my most recent annual exam in 2018 on a Friday, he called me the next day on a Saturday to say all the blood results are okay that he had results on before all were completed. By the following Monday the rest of the results were in but he did not call again to say those were okay--I suspect because there was no problem. But after looking after all the results I saw that one test was not ordered that usually is every year (PSA) so I called the office to report that and they got it tested that week. He did not call on that result, I guess because it was okay. The long and short is that with the way medicine is practiced in Los Angeles for years and the influence of Insurance Companies--you need to be very proactive and keep records to compare on your own. The blood draws here are professional and leave no mark. You have to pay for parking in this building. The staff is pleasant. If you don't have insurance, they do take cash--call and ask them for a quote. This office is part of Cedar Sinai and if they refer you it will most likely be to a Cedar doctor.

When he walks into the exam room, he always starts by asking me how life is going and recalls details I've mentioned during previous visits. He listens attentively when I tell him about symptoms I've been experiencing and plans out clear, logical steps to address them. Anytime he's referred me to be tested for something, he's followed up with me about the results within a day or two of the test. He's smart, genial, and well-connected to great specialists around LA. I totally trust him to manage my healthcare. If you live in the West LA area and are looking for a primary care physician, you can't do any better than Dr. Uyeki.

It's crazy, people these days just want to throw a pill at you, not really caring what is going on, and Dr. Darvish did the exact opposite. He asked questions, took precaution, and truly seemed so concerned in treating me and making sure I was taken care of and not just moving be along so he could get to his next patient. I think the icing on the cake was when he personally called me back after a crazy busy day, as I had some questions and left a message with him...in a crazy busy office in LA, who does that?! He did.  His words of wisdom actually made me slow down and consider letting my body adjust, which I so appreciate and I am just so glad I saw him today. They seem to always be able to fit me in when my doctors send me in with last minute order . Also if you show up 7:30am you can get x-rays immediately as a walk in. I had appointment at 11 but they took me early and i was in and out for a walk in x-ray at 7:30 took about 10 minutes including test and then a late morning CT scan that literally took 3-5 minutes to check in and 5 min for exam. fine tuned machine here and all the staff is friendly and knowledgeable . One time a staff member gave me a DX on an exam that scared the hell out of me and they are NEVER supposed to give results to a patient it was an accident he was asking for insurance billing purposes .

They never called me back, lied over and over again, and didn't seen a problem with their patient care. This place makes me SICK. I received MRIs here 3 weeks before my surgery and they DID NOT get them to my surgeon before my procedure! They originally told me they would send my MRIs to my surgeon, they did not. To my surprise my surgeon called me wondering where my MRIs were weeks later, this MRI center still had not sent them. I was having surgery 4 days later and told this place I needed the MRIs sent ASAP so my surgeon could plan for my surgery. THEY STILL DID NOT SEND MY IMAGES!! It then took me 26 phone calls to the facility, speaking with managers and employees, before they actually sent them. This facility said surgeons are always scrambling last minute to plan surgical approaches so it was not a problem: that disgusts me! Who is an MRI facility to HINDER my surgeon's care of me and think it is OK? They finally made the images available to my surgeon online at 6pm the night before my surgery (too late for a change in surgical approach to be made) and my hard copy MRIs finally arrived to my surgeon 2 hours AFTER my surgery began!!!! It has been 4 days since they promised to call me back and still no one has called. I will never use this MRI facility again and will advise everyone I know to do the same. I would give this place ZERO stars if possible.

I talked to my insurance company so many times telling them it was a total fraud and not to pay it but they didn't seem as upset as I was. Dr. Shafipour is absolutely amazing. He is extremely easy to connect with when you are having a problem and is the kind of doctor you can only dream of having. I have not felt well for many years and it has never been diagnosed so I am constantly bugging him for suggestions as to whom to see next. He is extremely patient with me and does his utmost to find answers. He once said he likes to treat his patients as he would like to be treated. Well he would certainly be treated well.
