After 2 days of calling, trying to book an appointment for a massage for myself and my boyfriend at the "peaceful beachside pergola," I finally reached out to Bakers Cay Resort. They were gracious enough to walk over and give the salon the message that I had been trying to call. A few minutes later my message was returned by a rude employee that seemed to be too busy to talk to me. She said they were really busy because of the holiday and they had client's that had booked months in advance. I wasn't naive realizing they would be busy. I was just hoping a last minute trip could be enjoyed a little more by a nice, relaxing massage. Mind you I was trying to book a $500+ service. Once I told her what I was looking to book... BLISS PACKAGE Experience pure bliss at our beachside pergola, tucked away on our quiet nature trail. The sounds of wind rustling through the natural hammock and the gentle waves of the Florida bay bring you to a state of deep relaxation, helping to calm your mind and body. 50 minutes $185 80 minutes $250 (for 2) We finally agreed on a time for the appointment for that coming Thursday. Arriving at the resort on (Monday) Valentine's Day we explored the beach, tiki bar, grand lawn, pool, and the "quiet nature trail." I was trying my hardest to find where they would perform our massage services. Once Thursday arrived we made our way to the salon, 15min before our service that was scheduled at 11:30am. We were surprised and a bit worried that it was still closed with the lights turned out even though we noticed the sign on the door said open at 10am when we went for breakfast. Shortly after 11 we were allowed in to fill out necessary paperwork. When asked about the location of the massage, I was told it would be in the middle of the "quiet nature trail." Well, the trail was quiet on Monday because it was cold, windy, and not a lot of guests were out. However, on Thursday, the prettiest day of our trip and why we decided to book it outside next to the ocean waves, it was the busiest we had seen the resort. Understandably! I can't understand why on earth would you misrepresent the accommodations that poorly..." Experience pure bliss at our beachside pergola, tucked away on our quiet nature trail. Oh, and let's not forget that the salon was not aware we wanted to be outside when we arrived for our scheduled appointment. Apparently, the salon needs to give the resort several hours notice to approve the use of Bakers Cay pergola. This was not previously handled by the salon. In their poorly kept records, they did not have us down for the "Bliss Package" that was described on their website. And apparently, the difference with getting the package, we were told, was that we would receive a bottle of champagne. Ok, thanks, but the quiet relaxing massage outside with beautiful scenery and the sounds of the waves was what we were really hoping for when we made the appointment a week ago. The website didn't even mention champagne. I don't want this to be all negative because once Sarah got me on her massage table, her technique and overall performance was PHENOMENAL!!! I would give her 5 STARS without hesitation and r!! It was a real shame that she had to apologize for our poor experience. For the resort to be nominated for a Travel + Leisure 2022 World's Best Award and have a salon that is that poorly run, I was very disappointed. Now I know why it always looked closed the entire time we were there for our vacation. If I were a guest looking for a great massage experience, I would find Sarah and book through her directly! Maybe the owners should let someone else run it while they focus on hair or maybe find another location where they can just specialize in hair services. It blows my mind that this location is not held to a higher standard at providing amazing experiences for all the guests. read more

Melissa has only been doing my hair for about a year. I went to her because my regular lady was not available. And I never went back. She is amazing. I have not taken advantage of it yet but the salon also offers massage. And I have seen the clients after and they were all super happy. read more

We had an appointment for our very young unvaccinated daughter. Nobody was wearing masks, omicron spiking etc. Brought some extra masks and asked stylists if they would wear them. They tossed them to the side and when we asked again to keep our daughter safe they said there was "no reason to be combative". Probably a nice place if you don't mind getting your haircut by people who are selfish and don't care about basic safety (even when asked) or the health or wellbeing of their customers. read more

I would think twice before using Melissa at Green House Salon. One week prior to my daughter getting married, Melissa called her and told her she was no longer able to do her hair and make up along with the six others she had promised to take care of. Communication throughout the year prior to making arrangements was few and far between on her part. Hopefully she never cancels last minute to another Bride!! Very unprofessional! She doesn't deserve the one star but it wouldn't post without it. read more

I am SO thankful I found Melissa at Green House Salon. My hair desperately needed color and my stylist in NC had to cancel before I left for vacation so I found myself looking quite drab and in need of color and highlights for our first trip to the Keys. I was nervous choosing someone after only looking at photos and reviews on Yelp but after the owner, Melissa was kind enough to make time for me in her already booked schedule and seemed as excited as I was to give me a new look I knew I had made the right choice. I had chosen a photo I loved from her website which happened to be one of the more involved processes - Bayalage and takes quite a bit longer. She came in early and spent over half a day giving me the look I had dreamed of and even did an extra treatment on my hair to keep it from getting too dry since I already had color and went blonder. I love Aveda, and while you sometimes pay a little bit more at an Aveda salon, I think it is 100% worth it. I left feeling like a movie star with my silky blowout and natural highlights. I also love that Green House is a smaller salon, more intimate setting and in a beautiful location. You can even stroll to view the beach while you are processing. I got to see the plans for the upcoming renovations and can't wait to go back to see the new zen look of the space. Thank you Melissa for making me feel like a customer you had had for years.
