Not reliable and not able to deliver on their commitments. We had a couple's massage booked. A few days before they called and said, they can't do them at the same time. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. We show up 10 minutes early for our first appointment (because we're considerate like that). The store was locked even though they advertised being open an hour before. The owner, Cindy....lovely lady....shows up 5 minutes later and tells us, "I found out last night your masseuse would be a little a late". I ask, how late is a little late? Remember, this is already going to take twice as long as we were originally told and we had other plans for the day. Cindy's response was, "well traffic is really bad coming from Key Largo so I'm not sure." So I ask, "you found out last night traffic would be really bad this morning?".......at which time I was told "it's complicated". Didn't make sense but I just chill. Our masseuse shows up about 10 minutes later....not bad but not considerate. My wife gets taken in for her 60 minute massage while I wait. 70 minutes, 80 minutes, Cindy offers, "I don't know what they're doing". Finally an hour and half later my wife comes out. Meanwhile, we have family we're supposed to be meeting for lunch. So I go back to the room and tell the masseuse, I need to be in and out in 45 minutes. She asks "why?" as if it's any of her business. Then proceeds to argue that she's "not that late" and trying to convince me I should get the full 60 minute massage. After her not having the courtesy to show up on time, or keep the schedule, I was not in the frame of mind to debate and simply left. Cindy was apologetic but mostly offered a litany of excuses, none of which had much to do with being on time and keeping a schedule. On the bright side, my wife enjoyed her massage and we got to enjoy lunch with our family at Papa Joe's.....which offers outstanding service. We arrived at 9:50 AM and left at 11:40. In nearly 2 hours we got one "60 minute" massage. If your time is valuable, you should consider going somewhere else. read more

Where to start. I'm on vacation in the area and was in need of a manicure. The place is really nice and clean. There is no complaints on that end. However I had a mani/pedí there and although the lady who did the service was wonderful really nice, again no complaints with her. However the nail polish is bad. The manicure was supposed to be just a regular gel manicure and the polish was blotchy and thick not to mention the UV light machine a really old outdated machine. They don't use any water to soften the cuticles and they don't use cuticle cutters either. They just use a cuticle softener and little stick to remove the cuticle. In the end I paid a whopping $100 for a mani and pedi which by the time I got home and washed 3 dishes the nail polish is already coming off. I will never again go here or recommend it. Total RIP Off. don't be fooled. A mani and pedí shouldn't cost this much. read more

I wish I could rate them a 10! I moved here to the Keys from DC and loved the esthetician who provided the service of "sugaring." I looked all over Key West with no luck. Finally I found this salon and the owner, Cindy is amazing and answers the phone! That is evidence of her interest in providing great customer service. Irina provided my high bikini with the sugaring process and did an "over the moon" job. Fast, efficient and very pleasant. I was out of there in 30 minutes and has worked there over 20 years. So cute, comfy and warm!! My daughters, sister and I had an afternoon of delightful spa services for my 60th birthday! Cindy, the owner, and I planned the event together a few weeks in advance to discuss the services requested, time of appointments and other logistics. Needless to say, she pulled it off without a hitch. All five of us had a few services of either a massage, facial, reflexology, mani and/or pedi. She cuts my husband's, daughter's and my hair, and all of us have been so pleased with her work. For me, not only did she teach me about my hair (thickness and styling for it) but after she was done cutting it and was styling, she was teaching me how to style it like she was. Cindy and her team of stylists and nail techs Abby, Irena, Melissa, stylist/colorist Alexa and others have taken care of me for years. Everyone is amazing. It isn't easy to transition to a new salon when you move to a new area. In this case, I didn't need to. My board certified colorist/stylist in Fort Lauderdale, Stephen Anthony, was once one of their product educators and recommended Blu Bamboo to me. That says so much! We live in the Keys most of the time now, but are still back and forth. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had, really at any business. My bridesmaids & I went to the salon the day before my wedding to get our nails done, eyebrows waxed, etc. I coordinated with each girl, double and triple checked what they wanted, and relayed the information to the salon owner weeks in advance. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the keys- the weather was terrible. 1 girl who was supposed to fly in at 5am had gotten her flight delayed, delayed again, and eventually cancelled. Imagine how stressful this was for me, the bride, knowing that it was going to pour all weekend and my bridesmaids & family members flights were constantly getting delayed and/or cancelled. Upon arriving to the salon to try and de-stress, I hear one of my bridesmaids arguing with the owner. I walk out of the nail area to figure out what's going on, just to find out that the owner is insisting I be charged for the services of the girl who's flight was cancelled. I offered to show the owner whatever "proof" she needed, and she refused to empathize and understand. It was clearly more important to the owner that she nickel & dime each of us, rather than provide quality service to all 5 girls that WERE there. I was almost in tears when the amazing technician came over, pulled the owner aside, and said SHE would take the pay cut for the missing appointment in order to diffuse the situation. One of my 5 bridesmaids decided to book a $100 massage to make up for the missed manicure appointment in addition to a pedicure she was scheduled to receive that day. THEN, when she went to go checkout-- the owner again said she now had to charge her for the massage, pedicure, and a manicure she never got because she also had her scheduled for a manicure. I then got up, again, and said she was never scheduled for a manicure-- only a pedicure... and added a massage to make up for the missing girls appointment. The owner decided to argue with all 5 of us in front of her own customers yet again for at least 10 minutes. To top it off, there are signs everywhere that says "cash tips appreciated". When we finally settled and paid our bills, she then said we had to add a mandatory 20% tip to our cards. I doubt that tip went to the techs after how she acted. We gave her company so much business not only that day, but that week. Thank god I had booked Ciao Bella salon to do all of our hair/makeup on the day of my actual wedding- they were beyond professional and attentive. I called at 11:00 and was able to be squeezed in later that day for a massage and pedicure. I am so happy they were able to accommodate my last minute appointment! My massage with Kim was very therapeutic both physically and mentally. She listened to my needs and made recommendations based on the information I provided. I truly feel my time with her was exactly what I needed! She explained the therapy she was doing and how to find someone in my area with her training. I wish there was a way to come see her once a month! Dee finished my time there with a pedicure. She was delightful to chat with! My feel look wonderful after the last five days running around the beach and swimming in the ocean! Blu Bamboo is a must stop while playing in the Keys for a little maintenance! I was on Islamorada on vacation and decided to try to schedule an impromptu half spa day. I am very happy I called Blu Bamboo. Even though it was short notice they really tried hard to accommodate me, even going so far as to bring in someone who works at their location part time. My massage with Karen and my facial with Dee were wonderful. I had a super-relaxed afterglow afterward. Just what you want if you are on vacation. Morgan did my hair, and she was AWESOME. I have short hair, cut in a style that would show any flaw, and I was very overdue for a cut. i don't trust just anyone to cut it (have been seeing my stylist at home in Boston faithfully for years). I brought in pictures of my cut when it was fresh, and Morgan did an incredible job of cutting my hair, remaining true to my style, but with her own interpretation. She made me feel at ease, was responsive, clearly technically gifted, and communicated well about what she was planning on doing any why. As a plus, she was super fun to talk to! Check out took a little longer than I would have liked, but I was so incredibly pleased with my service overall, that I didn't even care afterward. Everyone was very nice, and the cost of the services was also reasonable, in my opinion. My friend and I who are military veterans are biking from Miami to Key West and putting a whole lot of miles on our bodies every day on pedal bikes. I had an appointment at this salon to get my hair done before my friends wedding. As you enter the salon you automatically feel relaxed. The place smells wonderful and you really feel like you are in a spa and not just a salon. As soon as I walked in I was offered water, coffee or tea and wondered around the lobby area checking out all the products for sale. When I was called back we went to the shampoo room. I thought it was really cool that when you look up the ceiling is covered in bamboo. All in all it was a great experience and everyone working was so friendly and helpful.
