Stopped by today and much to our surprise and delight we got to meet the new owner Tyler! We previously experienced this local plant shop and didn't find anything we could afford honestly. With Tyler the new owner he has brought in a large assortment for every level of plant ownership. The prices reflect such as well as the quality of offerings. We visited here today at about 2 PM. Published hours of being open are from noon till 4 PM on Sunday. The door was locked. We waited about half an hour by visiting some other shops, but as far as we could tell, the store is closed. So we didn't really visit, but we tried. We wandered into Green Lady Gardens and instantly fell in love. The vibes in this shop are immaculate -- bright, calming, and full of the kind of plants that make you want to redo your entire home. Tyler, the owner, is insanely knowledgeable about all things plants. Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned plant parent, he meets you right where you are. He's super chill, easy to chat with, and genuinely wants to help you find the right plant instead of upselling you. I learned more in a 10-minute conversation with him than I have from hours of Googling. The plant and pottery selection is plentiful and surprisingly affordable given the quality. Unique varieties, healthy plants, beautiful pots -- it's all here. You can tell a lot of care goes into choosing what's in the shop. This is now my fifth time trying to come visit this store. If you're not going to be there post a sign. It's just respectful to the shoppers. I live down the street and love my plants. It's just disappointing and holiday weekends are busy. I watched 3 sets of people try to open the door. I walked to 11th and back to see if they would be open and another group of people of 6 people tried opening the door and I gave up. read more

I stopped by here for the first time today with my family who was visiting from out of town, and was blown away by how freaking cute this place is! The store's overall decor is really top notch and unique- like obviously they also have a great plant section, but even if you aren't into plants this place is still worth checking out just for the fantastic atmosphere alone! read more

This quaint little shop on Santa Fe has been on my must visit list for a few months now. I follow their visually stunning Instagram, where I first heard of them. I've been seeing photos of beautiful greenery, and finally got over to see it in person. For the space, there is quite a selection of plants. As you walk around, you'll see labels indicating the level of attention each plant needs in regards to water and sunlight. I liked that most plants have a qr code that will bring you to a page with more care instructions on your plant. Additionally, there is a wall of cards. I'm a stationary hoarder, so of course I had to buy a card. The store has a whole selection of pottery, from local artisans, for when your plant is ready to stretch its legs! There are currently some accusations of cultural appropriation at this store. While I think this is very serious, I'm only here to give my personal experience. I've been in GLG several times. I wasn't a fan of the owner's attitude any of the times I encountered her. This included being rude to my mother who is near 70 and I took on a plant shop tour while she was visiting. That set aside, I don't agree with the owner's rare plant sales. I believe the plants are sold too soon after being imported, placing the risk on the buyer. It sounds like she is no longer doing these sales. The owner was kind enough to reach out to me after my initial review. I appreciate her trying to remedy some things and believe she's making an effort to change her attitude. I wish the store well in its endeavors and hope they continue to learn from the community. read more

I came here on my Sunday afternoon looking for several snake plants and this place definitely had what I was looking for. Both of the plants I bought look amazing and fit great in my home. The plants themselves are very dense with leaves, therefore, not leaving you wanting more which is really nice. Overall, great store and friendly service. From the moment I entered, I felt like I found my favorite shop. The sales person was warm and welcoming. This shop has a well curated selection of plants, pots, supplies, and goodies. I got some handmade local planters that are stunning and unique, some plants and she even let me bring in other plants I got Off Craigslist to see how they look with different planters. Alright, so, there is a lot of controversy surrounding Green Lady Gardens right now. As a part-Latina, I don't quite know what to think of it all, but this review is about my experience as a customer at GLG. GLG is one of my favorite plant stores in Denver. Jessica, the owner, is very knowledgable, helpful, sweet, and fun to chat with if you want to nerd out on plants like I do. Every plant I've purchased from this store has flourished in my home (besides one I gave too much water love to--thanks, COVID). I also bought a plant stand I love, and GLG also carries one of the finest soils I've used in a while. The space itself is warm and inviting. There are plants here for beginners and those with calloused-over green thumbs. No matter where you are on the spectrum, Jessica will provide guidance should you want some! read more

So...wanted to read the other reviews before writing this because I thought I was going crazy. My friends recommended this shop to me for plants, and I do agree that the place is very cute and has an array of plant options. The other reason they recommended the place is because of the owner, Jessica. They said that she's super friendly and sweet and is willing to give you all the information you need to take care of your new plant. As a newbie to plants - this was VERY appealing to me. I also think that this place is pretty overpriced. But I was willing to spend the money to support local business and for the personalized experience. I choose my plant, and I ask her if she had any advise for taking care of my chosen plant. And I definitely got this lady on a BAD DAY. She looked at me like I was an idiot and asked if I ever took care of any succulents before. I said no, it's my first plant. And then started giving me a VERY quick run down of how to take care of said plant without looking at me. I asked her if she had a little paper guide for everything she just said cause I might forget (my friends said they got a little paper note with care instructions for the plants they got) - and she didn't have it for that particular plant. I also do not appreciate the cultural appropriation that's going on. HOWEVER, My 2 stars is solely for my experience. I am a customer buying product from you. I'm asking you for advise as I AM GIVING YOU MONEY and you are treating me like crap. I have found other wonderful nurseries in the Denver area and I'm glad I don't have to go here ever again. read more

My daughter and i came in the day the store reopened. Both staff workers at the time were busy as bees . Running around enjoying the fact that the store was reopening. It was super cute and i will definitely be back to pick up a few things when little fingers aren't around grabbing at everything. For an indoor plant enthusiast, the Green Lady Gardens is PERFECT. This little store is jam-packed with beautiful house plants of all shapes and sizes, pots that aren't too expensive, cute greeting cards, and Southwest-inspired good. Basically, the place is adorable and will take all of my money. The owner of the store is super friendly and helpful. She labels all of her plants as being easy to take care of or more high-maintenance so you know what you're getting yourself in to. Definitely a great place to get a plant! I got my string of pearls almost two months ago and it's thriving! Store owner suggested leaving it in the original container until I got the hang of taking care of a trickier plant. Definitely great advice! Two months later I've moved my plant to its new pot (also gotten from Green Lady!) and it's completely thriving! Went to a plant shop on Broadway a few weeks ago and my friend and I were borderline yelled at upon entry by who I believe to be the owner. We left almost immediately and came to Green Lady Gardens (both of our first times here). Since then I have been back two more times. The space is small but the owner does SUCH a good job of making you feel welcome. I am a beginner plant momma and love that this shop gives you cards on care for your plant baby. The store has its own parking in a lot right off Santa Fe right by the store's front doors. (I've attempted posting this review on other mediums, but since I'm worried about censorship, I thought I might as well try other platforms) I reallllly didn't want to write this, especially since how aggressive the owner has been towards the negative reviews, but I want to give an honest and thoughtful review since I think it's worth letting the plant community know about this specific store. Right when I was getting into my prime with collecting plants, I gave this place a visit around August 2019. I mainly came since I was super excited about hearing that there was a new plant boutique, especially since there were rarer plants being sold, etc. I've gone to the store twice, once to purchase some plants (a monstera dubia, raven ZZ, watermelon pep), another time because I won a plant raffle (hoya kerrii variegata). What I did not know at the time was that the hoya kerrii and raven ZZ were most definitely sold to me with root rot. What Jessica kept telling me was to "change the soil, it doesn't look good" or "cut the bottom part of growth off." I would've appreciated honesty, especially since I felt taken advantage of. When I'm paying $40 for a rare plant, I want to make sure that this plant wasn't just some import that barely survived, nor is even healthy. I will give credit to the store owner for helping me when the plant was struggling, but root rot blame seemed to be put on me (i.e my substrate was too dense, I wasn't giving it enough humidity, etc) when i should've realized that the cutting was rotted all along. So far, the only plant that is actually thriving is the dubia, but everything else has died from root rot. I have yet to return, but after seeing in multiple Facebook groups about the poor and lackluster handling of cultural appropriation within this store, it really concerns me that the whole idea of cultural appropriation vs. appreciation is completely misunderstood with the owner. Not to mention, an incredibly defensive and harsh attack on BIPOC when racism/cultural appropriation is called to question shows not only white fragility, but the innate knowledge that this is cultural appropriation and wrong. read more

I was introduced to this shop by a friend and I couldn't be more excited to now be a repeat customer! GLG is warm, inviting & Jessica is VERY helpful. I brought in a box of dead plants and she helped me diagnose what I did wrong with them and then helped me pick out more manageable plant replacements. Honestly, I love stopping in to just look around and feel like I'm somewhere tropical! Highly recommend to all my friends & can't wait to go back, but my housemates said no more plants...for now :) read more

I've been an active customer of Green Lady Garden's for over a year. I had absolutely zero green thumb and I'm now officially a crazy plant lady. My plants and pottery are stunning. I have never regretted a purchase. I RUSHED into Green Lacy Gardens once re-opened. It was the business I most looked forward to visiting during quarantine. Jessica has always been incredibly helpful in the store and responsive when I have emailed/dm'd her with questions. These recent reviews discussing Jessica's interactions with customers have me all kinds of confused. Jessica is a direct person - but I refuse to believe she'd be cruel to anyone. She wants you to make informed decisions and set you up for success. Why waste time sugar coating or selling you something she knows will not work for you and your space? I have always appreciated her honest and direct approach. You'll get no "used car" type selling from her. I have followed her business for quite some time now and have always been impressed with her professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit and transparency as a small business owner. Every time house plants come up or someone is new to town I recommend they check out Green Lady Gardens. Jessica is truly one of the more thoughtful business owners I've seen, from the plants she stocks to the design and experience in the store I am confident that she has spent excess time in making sure she does right by her customers, her partners, and herself as a small business owner. I would encourage any potential new customer to go into this lovely little store and judge for themselves. I appreciate her for what she brings to the plant community- she is a woman who came from doing markets, which is where I originally found her and has opened her own business. Writing a review for round 2 since apparently I'm the one completely at fault. For those that haven't read my other review, I spent $700 on ring of fires and over the course of months, every. Single. One. Died. There's more to it but yeah thats the gist of it. So then lovely miss Jessica responds with the following. I am a plant goddess and have more than her little shop has in it period. To blatantly disregard my experience with plants and say this is still my fault is absurd to me. I am not in the slightest unhappy with how much I chose to spend on Ring of Fires. Im pissed im being made to look like a liar and that Im trying to cheat someone out of money. I was never told in the slightest not to repot, so once again thanks for making me out to be a complete idiot. To say I used the wrong soil is quite hilarious to me because you flat out said over the phone, since you had no knowledge of the soil medium (never asked at all about what it was) you couldn't do anything for me. You did not offer a single solution. Regardless I spent 1k at your store in 2 trips. And that is how you chose to handle it. You never offered to help me find replacements or no "solution" you stated you offered was offered in the slightest. Oh and can you remind me how you tried to get a status update from me? Zero contact was attempted whatsoever so how am I supposed to know you wanted to do any of this? You literally offered nothing the initial call so why would I keep trying? What purpose would that serve? And amazingly those spots that you said were purely cosmetic weren't just cosmetic. Another plant buddy had gotten literally the same thing from the wholesaler you got them from and hers had the same issues and died and magically she didn't repot. And let me emphasize the reason I'm posting this review. It is not because im upset about plants dying. It happens, been through it. I am pissed because I spent 1k at your store in the 2 visits I was there and you offered JACK. I am leaving a review purely because of you, not because "you can't undo my mistake". Once again thanks for talking down to me and feeling the need to belittle your customers! You are a very nasty person Jessica. Please stop posting lies :). read more

Came in a few months ago and Jessica was completely rude to me. I left a detailed yelp review in which she reached out weeks after asking to give her another chance and come in. She said to come up to her and introduce myself, I further came in another day and didn't introduce myself because I felt she was not being be genuine over yelp, she again was so rude to me and many others attending her rehab plant sale. Her plants were not reasonable prices at all and she further was selling plants that she had just imported. She didn't wait any given period of time before selling the plants she just imported which is a clear death sentence for the plants. I further also noticed some other issues in which she was rude to other customers and have further rewritten my review as i don't think it's fair to support this business. read more

I have stopped in here twice to browse for plants. I LOVE plant stores and have really tried to give this one a chance. However, both times I've gone in the owner has made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable with her tone and general vibe. She comes across as self-important and condescending. The Latin American theme of her white-owned business feels forced and inauthentic--something wildly disappointing considering the Chicano-Hispanic neighborhood in which it's located. Her plants are also wildly over-priced. It is cute at first glance but I'd encourage supporting a better and more authentic business. read more
