This is a challenging time with Covid-19, but Liz arranged for us to see (by some different means) 4 adult foster care homes all in one afternoon. She also came to each appointment with us and jumped in appropriately to ask owners questions that she knew we needed answers to. She also provided us with a basic questionnaire form so that we had a list of some good questions to ask each owner. I have observed water coming in my first floor apartment three times from my outside door. My box…read morespring became wet sitting on the floor. In addition the 1985 building has had air-conditioning and heat not functioning properly. During the recent summer heat the dining room was above 90 degrees. The kitchen staff worked in over 100 degrees preparing meals. A resident was checked on by family one evening because they were unable to reach him. He was overheated in his apartment. Paramedics were called for assistance. Safety issues here need attention and not be stalled for repair.

She was living with my…read morehusband and I. 2 months ago she and I decided to move her into Glenmoore Assisted Living and I am starting to see improvements in her! Glenmoore is just what their name implies. Gracious! They have been so welcoming from the beginning. Both Managers and Residents. Her studio apartment is clean and comfy and she has a nice size deck for patio furniture and flowers. Housekeeping does a good job coming once a week. Her apartment is always clean when I visit. I have had many meals with my mom and the food is delicious and the choices are many. I can't think of 1 diet that would not be accommodated. She has access to food at any time of the day. They have many activities, but the most important one for my mom are the fitness classes. My mom also enjoys the onsite Beauty Salon. There are so many more amenities to list, but i am running out of space to type. I also like that this is a smaller community that does not have a hotel feeling. It is charming. In closing, I wish we had moved her sooner.

The glenmoore residents reached out to her often after her move including attending her funeral. I can't %100 say that I think this is the best place, however I do know my grandmother enjoyed some of her last fond memories here, including the lady who made things and brought them to sell, the hat tea party, the ugly Christmas sweater context the soft serve machine, and the games the residents would play together. Luckily, we found Jenilee and her care- team at Heritage House. My family and I took a tour and were immediately impressed with the care team's friendliness, knowledge and ability to provide 24-hour skilled (and loving) care. Heritage House is located on a quiet, tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood. It's cozy and clean --full of plants and light, with a loving small dog and cat who like to check in on residents. Sadly my mom passed away a few nights ago (in her bed at Heritage House).
