The waffle was crisp but soft, the chicken was beautifully breaded and was so moist when the bacon jam was a perfect addition! The maple syrup was warm and sticky and perfect. My friend ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and commented that the tomato tasted like it came out of her grandmas garden. The fries were perfectly crispy and not soggy at all. The owners husband was amazing and shared awesome things about how they source the food, how they bring their heritage into the restaurant and recipes. He and his family are all gluten free and he cooks like he wants to eat! The staff member handling this was noticeably rude, and no one else on staff could explain why we were singled out for this treatment. Our group happened to be the only table made up entirely of people of color that night, which made the whole thing feel even more uncomfortable and hard to write off as a simple misunderstanding. I reached out to management multiple times afterward to get an explanation and never got a response, which is part of why I'm leaving this review instead. If this is a result of new management or a policy change, it's not a good look. I can't recommend this place anymore, and I'd suggest others be cautious
