Green Park was the first park where I saw daffodils in bloom this year! The Park is northeast of Buckingham Palace and connects royalty with commercial hustle and bustle. You're basically in the King's backyard. I love all the green space in London. The walkways are wide and lined with benches and trees. Located between Hyde Park and St. James's Park, Green Park, at 40 acres (16 hectares), is the smallest Royal Park. Even though Green Park is adjacent to Buckingham Palace, I hadn't heard of it and didn't go in search of it -- instead I happened to come across it as my husband and I were on our way to Harrods (I love walking around when on vacation and discovering things). During our trip to London, we ended up walking through Green Park twice; the first time we just walked through, but the second time we had more time to explore. The day we had more time to spend in the park, we saw the Diana Fountain (Diana, as in the Roman goddess), the Queen Victoria Memorial, and of course Buckingham Palace (nothing interesting was happening at Buckingham Palace as we passed by). Although not the most exciting park (to be fair, we didn't spend too much time in the park and probably missed several interesting points of interest), it was still a lovely park and worth walking through. This park is such a great spot for taking a stroll. You can easily find it after visiting Buckingham Palace. They have several different paths to choose from and benches to take a seat in case you need a rest. Being there in September, it was so fun to watch the leaves start to fall on the ground. Several great photo opportunities. Most of the park felt pretty level, no major inclines or declines. You can also use these paths to get to another spot in the city, as there are several entrances and exits. read more

We hung around here for a while after the Buckingham palace visit and on the way back to the Marble Arch area. It's beutiful, has a lot of shade and nice walking/running trails. There were some interesting sights to see including a beautiful water display for a Canadian monument thanking them for their contributions to the wars. There were a lot of families and groups hanging out which was nice to see. Also interesting to see was how many couples were here and having a romantic moment. There was really nothing to see here. I was quite disappointed. There is a coffee stall here so we got coffee and took a short stroll. It's next to Buckingham palace so if your already there, you can come and check it out. However I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come. read more

Green Park--one of the Royal Parks--is 57 acres of pure beauty that doesn't get the attention it deserves. Well, first of all, it's tucked in between the world-renowned Hyde Park and St. James (with its proximity to Westminster and the Thames). And, on top of that, Green Park is tucked right up against Buckingham Palace Gardens. Greenery. Everywhere. Definitely, London visitors should take a stroll through Green Park ... or if you want to get all Ohio State about it, officially THE Green Park. It dates back to the 16th Century. That isn't a typo ... THE 1500s! First and foremost, The Green Park is just gorgeous. The walkways are LINED with mature plane trees. It's a rare park in London without any water features, which is why I can't give it 5 stars. But if you're near Buckingham Palace, it's worth stepping into. The area is easily accessible using the aptly named Green Park metro station, and the park is punctuated by the beautiful Victoria Memorial. Sunny and free on a clear day, I wouldn't recommend wandering through it at night. 47 acres (thanks, Wikipedia) without any lakes or buildings, it's just a park. That's green. Wow, they certainly aren't hiding anything with the name!. Captain Obvious here, but the park is easily accessed from Green Park and Hyde Park Corner tube stations or a short walk from Knightsbridge. What a beautiful park! My husband and I really enjoyed our time walking through this beautiful old park while seeing London. We were told by one of the local guides that this park is all green with no flowers or anything because one of the reigning monarch's wives got angry when her husband (the king) had a pretty mistress so they had all the flowers removed from the park and made sure it was only green - which is how it came to be known as "Green park". Hopefully I didn't mess that up.... The old ancient trees planted in this park which line the street are gorgeous! This was my first visit to London and I was very surprised by how lush and green it is - filled with flower boxes and trees. This park adds to the charm of the city. read more

This park is absolutely beautiful and conveniently located between 2 nearby tube stations so it is well connected. A lovely park for walking the dog or just a blissful stroll. Although I was rather alarmed with the "rent a chair" system. I'm familiar with this approach in London parks although the prices were a tad unnecessary as it is only a chair. If it's your first time in London, go to Green Park and St. James Park first because Hyde Park and Kensington are A LOT nicer! Green Park is well... just green and small. We had one day to spend in London. My dad and I got off at the Green Park stop and wanted to see Buckingham Palace. We asked someone and they said to walk through the park. It was an 80 degree sunny day in London! So many people were out and about here. The lawn chairs are nice, but you have to pay to use them. We walked through the park and got to Buckingham Palace. The trees are tall and plenty. There aren't that many green spots in London. This is a nice park, but it should have had more gardens and plants! We snapped photos and saw the Canadian memorial. Nice place to stroll through around Buckingham Palace. Not pretentious. read more

A beautiful park. A bit unusual in not having any formal flower beds but it still has plenty of color. The official Royal Parks website says: "Rumour has it, back in the seventeenth century King Charles II's wife demanded all the flowers be removed from The Green Park after she caught him picking flowers there for another woman." It stands next to Buckingham Palace and is also a convenient short cut to walk from Mayfair to Westminster should one be inclined to do so. Interesting features include the Constance Fund Fountain, which is not only a piece of sculpture but also a working drinking fountain. Of course, there are also plenty of mature trees and large expanses of grass. There is one pond in the center and numerous walking paths that crisscross the park. It's not the largest of the Royal Parks but is certainly a pleasant spot. read more

I wonder if they had run out of inspiration when they named Green Park! It's one of the more well known park in London for tourists as many will get off at Green Park Underground station and take the short 10-15 minute stroll through the park to Buckingham Palace. It's actually thanks to the royals that London has so much greenery. They wanted to be able to hunt in the capital and maintained large areas of parkland to be able to do so, the legacy of which are our beautiful parks in the middle of the city. Mind you, Green Park isn't so pretty at the moment as there's a lot of building work going towards improving Green Park Underground Station, hence the ugle fencing and piles of building materials, I just hope that they've timed tings write to be able to show off our capital to the world when the Olympics arrive later this year. On a recent trip to London, I was lucky enough to be staying in a hotel virtually opposite Green Park, The Hilton which meant I was rather close to this place, hence Buckingham Palace, but they is more to Green Park than just being residence to Buckingham Palace and the Monarch, and a rather nice Underground Station. It's a park so in my opinion they isn't much you can say, but this really is a nice park, and definitely a must to visit while in London, alongside Buckingham Palace, which can get rather busy even in the evenings. Here, is more of a quieter, relaxed atmosphere, they is picnics going on, and not a lot of young children too (Sorry - That's a bonus for me!) They is a Canadian Memorial here, to commemorate the 113,663 Canadian Forces killed in the first and second world wars, which is a a very nice memorial and a way to remember the Canadian soldiers, and the memorial its-self is quite a nice one, designed by Pierre Granche and unveiled in 1994. I'm not a big fan of parks, and I certainly wouldn't spend time in one, but as far as parks go, this is a nice one, and has become a tourist attraction in London, but it still isn't noisy, and packed, it has a more relaxing atmosphere especially in the evenings, so I'm glad to finally get round to reviewing Green Park and giving a solid 3 stars. read more

Because of the Palace nearby, the Northwest edge is teaming with visitors. As you cur across diagonally it gives way to commuters getting off work, joggers, and all sorts of other types. Things are a bit spread out but there are cool monuments here and there. What I didnt like? A large amount of horse shit and mud along the walking trails. Otherwise it's beautiful! read more

My favourite park in London has to be Green Park. During the summer I was in the park on every single sunny day! I would spread out my blanket and read a book. Now that it's colder I spend a lot of time walking through the park and just enjoying the green space. I love that the park is so centrally located and it's easy to walk through the entire park and not feel tired at the end. Not to mention because it's so close to Piccadilly there are lots of shops and restaurants so you can grab a bit on your way to the park. There has been many a day when my boyfriend and I meet in the park and he shows up with a few cappuccinos from the Pret across the street. The only thing that annoys me about Green Park are the people. You can go and set up your blanket and a few hours later some stupid guys will start a rugby game or football game and before you know it, people are running all around you. I know they are hoping that I'll move, but I just dig in my heels, turn up my I-pod and ignore them. After awhile, the jerks move on to a part of the park where no one is sitting, which they should have done in the first place! read more

Although it gets busy, it still feels like a reasonable escape from the hustle, bustle and traffic (unless on a super sunny weekend), but even at it's fullest periods, people seem to respect the picnic radius. As for me -- these are the parks I long for. Perhaps it's true that the park is rather plain, but it's worth seeing the lovely Canadian War Memorial, with its flowing water, triangular design, and maple-leaf reliefs. It's a beautiful, fascinating piece of memorial architecture. Green Park definitely lives up to its name! It's literally all green and just green! The park is a field of green grasses with lots of trees! Green Park is humongous too! There are chairs and seats for people to sit, but they are rented out by the hour. I saw many people sitting on blankets and drinking wine and snacking on finger sandwiches! I loved it! People were so chill and relaxed there. Because you're very close to unrefined nature, it really allows you to enjoy the moment. On the outskirt of the park, there's a Canadian Memorial, which was interesting to learn about some history. Right outside a corner of the park is the Buckingham Palace. And on the other side of the park is by the animated Piccadilly street. Additionally, biking is not allowed in the park, only around the park, which creates a very safe and fun environment. It's amazing that London has so many parks in prime locations. Green park in the heart of the Mayfair, the backyard of Buckingham Palace and right next to the Ritz. It's just a wide space, perfect to throw a frisbee, get away from the crowds or join one to view the wedding. I'm glad i viewed the wedding from here. OK so this place just looked very inviting. A place to sit along a park bench under a large tree. There to read, eat or sprawl out on the grass. It's just across from Buckingham Palace. Yet, at about 4am and having to cut through the park to get back to our hotel. No cutting through the palace gardens as a short cut. OK 4am and the image of the path one can picture it in a dense fog. Those memories of all those stories come rushing to the surface. Heck I am sure it's been used as such in a movie. The flowers in bloom in spring add a sense of vibrancy to the colors you see, green with yellows, red, oranges and purples. At any time, you can hop off the path and relax on the cool grass, take in some sun, and read for a bit. Enjoy people watching while reading, leaning next to a tree. The park is easily located to most of the major areas of the city, and I don' think I would stroll after hours. read more

There's so much green you can easily forget that you're in a big city like London. A wonderful place for a stroll in the sunshine. What a nice park. Only saw part of it but for what I saw looked clean and pretty. I love the many oak trees that are in the park. There is even a area where there is deck chairs (at a cost).
