We've tried our share of other Vietnamese restaurants beyond our two favourites - Ca Phe Nam in West End and Pho An at Inala - and they always disappoint. Our favourites set the benchmark for taste, outstanding quality and value. And we now welcome Pho Hung Vuong to the favourites family. Two Phos, a Rare Beef ($20) and a Special Pho ($25), were superb with a boastful broth, fresh rice noodles and inspiring ingredients. The condiments too were generous, just the way we like and expect them, with plenty of bean sprouts, basil, chili paste and fresh red chilis, lime wedges and hoisin sauce. We made quick work of both phos and commented on how much we enjoyed them on the way to emptying our bowls. Sometimes spotting something by chance results in a welcome opportunity to experience something new. And, in this case, utterly delicious and beyond expectations. We'll be back, Pho sure!

Had the purple taro boba and it did not disappoint. Creamy and refreshing! Had the hainan chicken the chicken was fall off the bone tender, the garlic ginger sauce is spot on. Also had the Viet curry and all the vegetables and meat were cooked to perfect tenderness. For a curry it also didn't feel too heavy. Decor is classy dine in restaurant with high ceilings. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Minimal air conditioning. Service is friendly and quick. Waiting only about 10min for the food. Great place for lunch or dinner.

My boyfriend is a regular there and he was keen to introduce me to some of his favourite meals: the golden parcels ($7.50) and the drunken noodle ($13). The golden parcels (deep fried wonton pastry with a filling of ground chicken, water ceshtnut, garlic, and coriander roots) were absolutely delicious, and the drunken noodle (rice noodles fried with garlic, chilli, chicken breast, egg, red capsicum, coriander, and basil) was much healthier than most Thai fried noodle options because it was packed with capsicum and wombok. The staff also threw in a complimentary spicy soup. I'd say My Thai Kitchen makes Thai food with an Australian twist, mainly because of the extra vegetables and the lighter sauces, which is great if you're after something that will make you feel less guilty about ordering take away for dinner. Dining in is a great option as well; there's ample seating space outside, as well as a large, communal dining table inside the restaurant for big groups. There's also a range of Asian groceries on sale for those who are interested in cooking up a storm at home. I was also charmed by a lot of the original My Thai Kitchen dish names; my personal favourites being 'luv a duck' (duck breast) 'one nation - please explain' (barramundi), and 'tax return' (tofu or tiger prawns).
