It's nearby a police station, trail, park, co-op and has an open field you can play with you dog. They are very pet friendly and everyone I've met were an animal lover and kind. The staff are very professional and maintenance is helpful. The buildings are always clean and in my building everyone was courtesy of the noise and trash. I loved the diversity of culture and ethnicity that reside here. From working professionals, artists, college and family. The rent range isn't bad for the location and I'd recommend this place to my family and friends.

I love the wooded grounds and the fact that you can see wildlife in the area. There is an outdoor pool which is open in the summer months. It is also a complex that permits pets. Lakeside North is very safe and is near the Greenbelt Police Station. I have experienced few problems with noise or disruption. Residents consist mainly of families, individual professionals, and graduate students. The apartments are spacious, have lots of closet space, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Windows were replaced a few years ago with double-pane windows, which are better for conserving energy. Most units are carpeted but you can also get units with wood laminate flooring. All units have dishwashers and card-operated washer/dryers are in the basements of each building. Maintenance is very responsive to requests for repairs. Probably the best part of living here is the Lakeside North staff. The rental office staff plan events for residents throughout the year, including parties for Mother's Day, Halloween, and a Labor Day barbecue/pool party. They do thoughtful things such as leaving Valentine's/Halloween candies on residents' doors. They also help to publicize community events and volunteer opportunities.

They have pest control that will come into the apartment every 6 months or so, but all they do it a little spraying under the sinks and put a glue trap or two down. They will not address the infestation problem in the walls. No matter how clean I keep it, roaches alwasy take over my kitchen at night. It's disgusting. Also, beware - the AC/Heat system is OLD, and you will only be allowed AC in the summer and Heat in the winter, both will never be available to run at the same time. AND they turn off BOTH AC and Heat for one month in the spring to switch the systems. So, although it might be 90 degrees for a week in April/May, or 30 degrees for a week in October, it won't matter, you WILL NOT have AC or Heat for that time. Also - utilities are shared per building, not per unit. So be prepared to pay A LOT more than what you use.

My apartment literally feels like an oven, making it completely uninhabitable. On top of that, every time I submit a maintenance request, it gets canceled with the same response--that the air conditioning will only be turned on starting May 1st. It's clear they do not care about their tenants at all. Meanwhile, we are forced to suffer in our own apartments due to the heat. I've already submitted three maintenance requests, and this situation is unacceptable. I honestly cannot recommend this place--this is a complete lack of respect toward tenants.

About a month of regular break ins, and thefts of this nature, and all we got was 7 days of a decommissioned police cruiser to sit at the bottom of our garage. I liked the maintenance manager, she is one of the most competent I've dealt with in years of renting in this area. The building construction is awful! Our apartment has leaked three times. Our carpet in the bedroom is soaked from rain water and our living room has huge puddles. Maintenance continually puts in huge blowers and dehumidifiers. Same gross carpet remains, I had to request they shampoo it the first time. Our house is like a swamp when it rains. The thermostat is showing 70% humidity. The noise is unbearable and our baby can not only sleep but had developed a bad cough. We haven't been offered a different apartment or any other accommodations. It's miserable. The handle to the door to the garage always breaks, and there's not an easy way to get to the garage. The carpet was ripped to shreds when we moved in. We hear loud noises whenever ANY neighbor flushes the toilet. That's just a small part of it. The location is decent, but Route 1 traffic is VERY heavy. Get used to sirens, etc. Mostly the other residents are students, or young professionals and keep to themselves. However, some are plain trashy (see pic of note left on my car after accidentally parking in a reserved spot my first week here, they aren't well marked spots). People drive like wild banshees in the garage and then blast music at the gym that can be heard all the way into apartments down the hall. At all hours folks drop heavy weights. Annoying if you're on that floor. There are also VERY wild parties in the common area that residents rent. There is also an issue since there's no concierge and after 6 the leasing office is gone. Packages are hard to get delivered, including meal delivery services (First World Problems, I know). For the price you pay, the construction should be a lot better

This is now the fourth consecutive year that the community pool was not ready for Memorial Day weekend. Last year, the pool did not open until July 2025, forcing residents to pay additional money to use other facilities during the summer. Residents continue to pay full rent while amenities that are advertised and included in our community remain unavailable. Not to mention, when you go to the Greenbelt Community pool, you are not considered a technical resident and therefore have to pay non-resident fees, because the property does not pay Greenbelt or Prince George County taxes. After learning that the pool would once again not be open as expected, I called the management office to ask why there was a delay and why this same issue continues to occur year after year. Unfortunately, the property manager was very short and dismissive during the conversation and did not provide any meaningful explanation or accountability. As a paying resident, I believe these are reasonable questions, and I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism and concern shown in response. Unfortunately, the pool issue is only one example of a much larger pattern of neglect. Management appears more interested in collecting rent than addressing the ongoing problems that affect residents' quality of life and safety. There is a severe rodent problem throughout the property that has not been adequately addressed. In addition, the dumpsters are frequently overflowing with trash, creating unsanitary conditions, attracting pests, and making the community look poorly maintained. Safety and security are also major concerns. Vehicle-related crime has become alarmingly common, with car wheel theft occurring so frequently that residents regularly find vehicles left sitting on bricks or crates. Despite these recurring incidents, there has been little visible effort to improve security measures or protect residents' property. Residents deserve a clean, safe, and properly maintained community, especially given the rent we pay. I urge management to take immediate action to address these ongoing issues, improve communication with residents, and provide accountability regarding the timeline for correcting these problems. At a minimum, residents deserve honest communication, timely maintenance of community amenities, and a management team that takes resident concerns seriously.

All of the other apartments had carpet in the eating area. The apartments are large and nice. If you move here, pay careful attention to your building. All of the buildings are not the same. My building is an end unit which means there are only 2 apartments on each floor. The common area and stairs in my building is ceramic, very nice, and clean. I was not aware of any safety issues that others have posted about. However, I lived next door to a police officer as well. During peak hours, the office uses a messaging service to respond to calls which means you will not get an answer right away. This was frustrating when I was trying to lease the apt, but once I moved in I found that communicating online through email is more effective when they're busy. They definitely need to have more staff during peak hours on the weekends. Pros: -Lawn, hallways, and common areas are always clean and taken care of -Trash pickup service -Amenities (pool, fitness, center, basketball courts, playgrounds) -Location (walking distance to historic Greenbelt which has several playgrounds, grocery stores, restaurants, aquatic center, youth center, library) -Responsive maintenance -For the most part, this area is quiet -I have had no issues or concerns with safety. Residents walk their dog here all the time. -No bugs or pests. Cons: -Thin walls. If your neighbors are yelling you will hear it. If your kids are tantrumming, your neighbors will hear it. -Not enough office staff during peak hours.

Unfortunately, our experience with management and office staff has been consistently disappointing. The staff, including the property manager, have been rude, unprofessional, and largely indifferent to tenant concerns--even serious issues such as rodent infestations. For the past three months, we have been dealing with mice in our apartment. The maintenance supervisor has worked with us by providing treatments and sealing potential entry points, but the problem continues. Despite the ongoing infestation, the property manager has been extremely negligent in addressing the situation, to the point that I had to contact the city to bring attention to the issue. We also spoke with David, the individual who frequently responds to Google reviews. Unfortunately, he was no help. While he presents himself as someone who understands and cares about residents' concerns, our experience suggests otherwise. We felt misled and unsupported throughout this process. To make matters worse, our request to terminate our lease without penalty was denied, despite the ongoing infestation and what appear to be ineffective attempts to resolve the problem. It has become clear to us that this company prioritizes profits over the well-being of its tenants. After eight years as loyal residents, we expected to have a better relationship with management. Instead, we've learned that loyalty means very little when tenant concerns are not taken seriously. We will not be renewing our lease. We would rather spend our money somewhere we feel respected, valued, and appreciated. Save yourself the frustration and think carefully before renting here. If you choose to do so, proceed at your own risk.
