Green Steam absolutely saved our bacon last November when our washing machine broke and dumped an entire load of soapy water onto the laundry room floor. Once we'd finished mopping up as much as we could of the flood that had soaked the carpets in the adjacent hallway, closet, and home office, we started looking for professional help. Sean was reassuring and sympathetic over the phone, and came by immediately to have a look at the damage. In almost no time, he'd assessed the extent of the soaking, carefully peeled up the carpets, and started a full-on rescue operation with industrial fans a-blasting. In the end, he was able to salvage our carpet! (Some areas needed new padding underneath, but that was a comparatively cheap fix.) By the time he was done, everything was back in place and freshly cleaned, looking better than it had before the disaster. It's been more than two months, with no sign of mold or smells. Crisis averted, for a fraction of the cost of replacing the carpet. An A+ job all around! read more

We just had Green Steam clean our carpets this morning and I couldn't be more pleased. When we first called to make the appointment they weren't in so we left a message and they called back first thing the next morning. They were very friendly and set the appointment up without a problem. When the time came they arrived exactly when they said they would. The two workers were friendly, efficient and did a great job. A bit surprised to find bad reviews here about these guys. We just finished our remodeling and I needed urgently a company that could wash carpet on a short notice for us. It all started with a very pleasant voice on the phone. Customer service was great. They gave us a good quote and we signed up. Next day, two technicians arrived on time and did a great job. I also signed up for their air duct cleaning services. They beat Bob's Heating on price by over a $100. I ended up paying more than quoted because in one room they had to treat it chemically due to carpet being soaked with cat's urine. No more smell. Same evening, I was moving some fixtures and dropped one. Glass was all over the stairs. My wife demanded that I call Green Steam again to professionally vacuum and wash the area. We have a 2 year old and two pets. They came same day, vacuumed, washed the area and did not charge anything. I just tipped technician. I highly recommend them since I had a great experience. read more

Katie provided a good explanation of the company's services and how they are differentiated from what other companies offer. it was easy to schedule and then to reschedule the cleaning appointment. Katie and her partner moved both my traditional and futon bed and frames, as well as the other furniture in the two bedrooms, the leg bottoms of which they protected using small sheets of plastic. They placed guards to protect all of the corners that the hose would otherwise rub against. Katie and her partner were friendly and professional. It took them about one hour and 45 minutes to assemble and hook up the equipment, and complete the 10-step "Premium Plus Service" in two rooms and a hallway. Green Steam Carpet cleaners put a hole in my carpet by using the machine too much in one area where there was a stain. So what was once an aesthetic problem has now become a growning problem of unraveling carpet. (Two year old carpet...) When I called to have the hole addressed by their team I was informed they would charge me, and further more I was informed it would cost 3 times the value of the initial cleaning. Maybe its just me, but I would think a company would take care of unusaual damage they caused. I would not recomend Green Steam Carpet cleaning. read more

As small business owners ourselves, we are frustrated and appalled at the way in which Green Steam Carpet Cleaners handled our situation. On my way to meet the carpet cleaner at our rental house, I ran into a traffic problem and was delayed. This happens to us all the time with our customers and I did what I would hope everyone would do ­ I immediately called the Green Steam office to inform them I might be a few minutes late. Unfortunately, they don't open until 9:00 AM so I received a message that said to email them if there was anything they needed to know. This was confusing, but I went ahead an left a message and continued on my way to the house. My husband also left a message when I called him to let him know I would be running a few minutes late. It was our opinion that an email would have been fruitless given that no one was answering the phone and they weren't officially open. I ended up arriving at 8:37, which was seven minutes late for the appointment time window of 8:30 to 10:30. Apparently, the carpet cleaner had come and gone with no attempts at calling us or checking messages. We tried to reschedule or to get a refund, however the owner of Green Steam sent us a very lengthy, rude and dismissive email stating that this was a cancellation and we had forfeited our Groupon. Her claim was that the carpet cleaners had tried to contact us when they arrived and that they had waited for 20 minutes. Both are absolutely untrue! Unfortunately, our attempts to explain what had happened were ignored. Groupon did refund our money and agreed this was handled poorly by the company. read more

They cleaned my stairs and a porch area, but the carpet looks like what is before after the cleaning is done, which is not cleaned at all. Their regular carpet clean (use steam, not chemical and shampoo) doesn't remove anything, though it costs $100 and above. In order to make my carpet clean, I have to pay double the price for the shampoo cleaning, which is $200 for this small area. read more

As the reviewer Aram M. stated, I'm very surprised by the negative reviews. I had our entire house carpet cleaned and it turned out fantastic. The two technicians arrived well within the scheduled time, very professional and very efficient. They explained everything to me and I am completely satisfied. I will definitely use them again. They also do more than carpet cleaning as the person who referred me had upholstery cleaned and someone thought she had a new couch. Very reasonable price and could get it done when I needed it. On a side note, Groupon users beware. Groupons have restrictions so don't blame the company when the Groupon deal isn't exactly what you expect. read more

I just had Green Steam clean our carpets this afternoon. Had great customer service starting with the lady who answered my questions at their office. E mail communication was quickly addressed. I was able to get an accurate quote on the phone then 2 days later (today) two nice gentlemen showed up at the given time. They did everything they said they were going to do, at the agreed upon time and price and they did a great job. Next time I need carpet cleaning, I will get them again. read more

Pathetic Service. Got a living social deal...first of all was really hard to catch them for an appt, and then on day of appt, they didn't show up wasting entire day. worst experience ever they send a careless technician who was busy smoking his e-cig outside and kept me waiting for like 30 mins, I peaked outside my window and saw him standing by the van talking on the phone and smoking, when he finally started work, he didnt try hard on the spotty areas, he had his earplugs on all the time and would take them off and give me a careless look whenever i point out a spot he missed, even then, he would barely go over it... to make things worse, i called the office and complained, they sent the same lazy incompetent technician who sprayed some material on my carpet (instead of doing another round of steam cleaning as any good business would do) guess what? the stain went from faded grey to very ugly bug pink stain... now my carpet is ruined forever.. thank you very much read more

I can't say enough bad things. I called to schedule after purchasing a groupon and they told me that even though it's for 3 rooms, it really means 2 rooms and a hallway. If you actually want 3 rooms and a hallway, they would charge you $25 extra for the hallway. Then she was trying to find out about "stains" to charge me more for that! Then she REFUSED to schedule with me until 24 hours had passed after I bought the groupon, when I need this appointment to happen prior to thanksgiving on a Saturday...hmmmm, I think a lot of people will want that time too and it will be booked by tomorrow. I had a LivingSocial and it was good for 3 rooms. They cleaned our kids room, office and our master bedroom (there was furniture in the rooms so limited carpet exposure.) I paid very little extra to have our stairs done too. We have a short burbur carpet and the guy did a wonderful job. Also he was super friendly and not to pushy on trying to up sell me. He was also on time (had early appointment 8:30 to 10:30) and he showed up at 9 with a phone call 15 before saying he is on his way. I also had very good customer service on the phone. I would recommend them to friends and will most likely go back if they are having specials. read more

First time using Green Steam and couldn't be happier with their customer service and carpet cleaning. They were on time, very polite and thorough in explaining my options for some severe pet problem areas. I was most appreciative of the fact they did not try to up sell me. The technician was honest and did his best with the problem areas. I was also impressed that they vacuumed the carpets before the more thorough cleaning process and they put up some protectors on the corner of the walls/hallway so they wouldn't harm the walls and paint. My carpets look great and I was surprised at the final, cost for 4 rooms, stairs and a hallway - very reasonable. The two service technicians were polite and efficient, and the carpets look great (they totally removed the spit-up stains from the kids' bedrooms, and I had tried EVERYTHING to get those out).
